  1. Yea I actually agree. I think I would be enjoying this experience so much more if I knew what I was getting excited about, and I don't exactly follow LNS reasoning for the big secret. I don't there is any, actually, they are just keeping it a secret because "reasons" or something. . .

    DCS: F-5E!

    Well with me not knowing too much about the F-5 I am surprised it actually can only carry two A2A missiles, and only heaters at that! Sounds like pound for pound the scales will be tipped towards the MiG 21 in the A2A scenario, As the mig can carry anywhere from 4 to 8(!) A2A missiles, which is rather surprising to me. So I am guessing the only pylon for air to air missiles is this wingtip pylon, correct?

My research into the topic leads me to believe that the MiG 21 being used in that film has received some hard wired modification to enable single bomb release, probably because the Syrians want to conserve ordinance on lower value targets. Normally a 21 would have to release pylons 1-2 or 3-4 at the same time. The rockets fire because they use different wiring and fire control mechanisms that still work with incorrect load-outs. Short of hard modification, perhaps there is a fuse that can be pulled or a breaker tripped in the cockpit on the real steel to purposely avoid a pylon from releasing, but I would suspect this is a modification, since the Pylons 1-2 and 3-4 seems to be wired in the same systems from what I have read

The CO of our squadron actually made that, not me, so I can't take credit If it is any help to you guys I have spent a few hours working this and I strongly believe the Effects.dll crash to be related to the movement of ground units. My testing setup is my high end PC as host, and two other PCs I own connected and all in roles as clients. When all waypoints are deleted and no ground vehicles move I can run the mission for extended times with no crashes yet (it's still running in the background) But here is the interesting bit... If I use combined arms to manage and move units, I have no crash. I had all the units on the map moving and fighting in some furious battles with no crashes, however if it's movement generated from mission editor waypoints it crashes around the 15-20 minute mark.... Really odd, huh?
  6. Crash occurs when hosting with no clients as well.     DCS: F-5E!

    Cool stuff! So the F-5 appears to only be able to carry two A2A missiles onboard? Am I correct? Also I thought I heard the F-5 had radar but it appears to have no radar based missiles comparable to the MiG 21s R3R

  14. Doesn't the inverter only power Avionics and on board systems? I'm pretty sure you can fly the bird around with the inverter off, so this isn't a glitch.
  15. Am I to understand that the actual license holder of the Gazelle has not yet officially approved the DCS module? It is in a rather late stage of development it seems and that could be a major hold up if they didn't! Just wondering

  18. Be on the 104. That's the problem with you F-15C guys, you think it's all about the plane, and it ain't... You forget our handy little advantages like IRST and the fact that WVR a F-15 is in big trouble. Actually I'll demonstrate that in my MiG 21! I've been having lots of luck with her since 1.5 and the new contrails came about. Lots of F-15 jocks up high with their heads buried in sensors.

  20. We will get it, but even if the Beta is with SFM it's already been stated the Mirage SFM is more advanced than other SFM releases.
  21. I beg to differ with that F-15 vs SU 27 remark, as I fly into the F-15s ballpark and blow it out of the sky regularly.... ;)
