  1. Strange, it works for me. Could it be an issue with key bindings, have you tried to reset them to default?
  2. Good quality, no music, instrument closeups
  3. Nice, secret updates! Has the ABRIS changed between 1.25 and 1.26. I'm thinking the map is now rendered at a lower resolution than before, for example the labels are blurrier. Perhaps to improve FPS, since it could take quite a performance toll, when it had lots of tiny houses etc to draw. Or did I just clean my glasses :music_whistling:
  4. Another similar solution, seems to be to turn the laser off. That disregards any previously collected range-data, which in any case, can turn stale quick as soon as you start slewing around, triggering the crazy-Shkval(?). Then range when you're all set to fire. I'd love to know if this an error or not, no conclusions yet?
  5. And I can imagine that the joy of building, to make it yourself, is huge - if your into that kind of stuff that is.
  6. Is that some pirate-thingy-ma-jig? :)
  7. Oh, one more thing. If anybody has not read this little article, I can strongly recommend it. It's about the Ka-50 operation in Chechnya, and why the project was canceled. The author leans towards the political: MILTECH_9-2005_Ka-50_in_Chechnya.pdf
  8. The Ka-52 seems to be doing pretty good, so you'll be happy BBQ. This site http://lenta.ru/news/2012/03/13/ka521/ claims that 140 Ka-52 has been ordered by Russia, I have no idea if that includes the Ka-52k for the navy as well. And there's rumors that Iraq has signed the contract. Justo©, are you sure it wasn't the remaining Ka-50 that had been transferred to special operations work?
  9. Does anyone know if the Ka-52 and Mi-28 are designated for different roles, perhaps with one Ka-52 operating as command post for a group of Mi-28, like the plan originally was for the Ka-50. Or is that outdated cold-war doctrine?
  10. I got a little disappointed, since I had already seen that video. It's great! The whole series is, especially the episodes about a particular aircraft. Check out the ones on Mi-8, or Mi-24, for more heli-fun. Edit: Now with links. Mi-8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMgbcE-fVME Mi-24 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytjMaEhNw6M
  11. And for the ultimate improvement, wait for DCS texture-resolution to increase four times as well.
  12. Sorry for being hasty, but I'm just curious if you had any luck with the Symlink trick?
  13. Makes me happy! I find the Admiral Kuznetsov very intriguing.
  14. Yeah, that's an excellent suggestion, since I have the tendency to overdo constructions in the name of sturdiness. :smilewink:
  15. I'm pretty sure the motors in the MSFFB2 are servos. What's make me so doubtful, is that I tested the setup just prior to properly mounting it in the new box that I made, only because fixing errors would be pretty painful after that point, and I did not react to any sound then. Hmm... I should have made a recording, since it so darn hard to remember the level of sound.
  16. I've been working on modding my MSFFB2 with a CH Fighterstick handle for a while now, so far everything has gone more or less smooth. But yesterday, after finally putting it all together, I might have hit a bump. With the motors on and the stick in center position, the unit makes a high pitched sound. Something like a printer, but much quieter. Moving the stick off center makes the noise go away. This makes me very uncertain, because I don't remember (perhaps incorrectly) it sounding like that before. It might just be that the way its mounted now, exaggerates a sound that was always there. I'm just worrying that the sound is a sign that something terrible is about to happen. :helpsmilie: PS. I did some searching, and for R/C servos, which I guess the MSFFB2 motors are similar to, that kind of idle noise seems normal. But I'd love some more reassurance...
  17. I sure remember being hypnotized by that C-64 load screen for longer than that - only to have it fail - now I'm nostalgic.
  18. Yeah, the Kamovs sadly doesn't seem very popular. I would even get exited about a Ka-26, it's cute :music_whistling:, this one might be something for beczel...
  19. I once had the problem of getting the updater to run after a failed attempt, what kept it from working was that it was still active, hidden in the background. Even though it had crashed and was no longer visible. I killed its process with the Task Manager and it worked fine after.

    more?

This. I think that terrain development will allow for more teams to join the gang of DCS 3rd parties. I'm sure there are lots a talented devs out there, with the necessary skills and tools for creating new maps, but which might lack, interest, abilities or whatnot to produce an aircraft module. Belsimtek obviously likes to make helis.
  21. Does it being closer to the COG also have an influence, I'm thinking it will be less affected by recoil that way?
  22. But the canon is so accurate, love that thump, thump at low rate of fire!
  23. You can do this with AutoHotkey http://www.autohotkey.com/, like this: Download, and install the program. Copy this script to Notepad and save it somewhere convenient with an .ahk extention. MButton:: ; For middle button, try also XButton1 or XButton2 for button 4,5 Send {LAlt down}c{LAlt up} return Right click you new file and select Run Script That should do it, try replacing MButton with Xbutton1 or 2 and see if you can get those buttons to work as well. Disclaimer: I don't know the AutoHotkey language (is it even called so?). I've had the program installed for some time now, but never got around to experiment - this was a good excuse. So I only pieced that together by looking and copying from the manual, hence, I don't doubt that there are prettier ways of achieving the same. Whatever works eh!?
  24. There was this year old post by Griffin, in turn pointing to a post on the Russian side about the possibility of an upgraded Ka-50. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1633256&postcount=17 One may have (pipe)dreams...
  25. I don't know if it's possible to change it within a DCS option, which of course would be best. But there are alternatives. How much tinkerer-fu have you got? Since this it not something I would let my granny do. I would try to Symlink http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTFS_symbolic_link the DCS temp folder (fake edit, I just did). Like this: D:\ mkdir dcstemp C:\Users\[uSERNAME]\AppData\Local\Temp>mklink /D DCS d:\dcstempAnd there's also that C:\Users\[uSERNAME]\Saved Games\DCS folder, which would need its own link, perhaps more? Nothing terrible happened for me when I tried, and it was easy to revert. Don't know if it will help any, but it might be worth a try, just be a tiny bit cautious, because you know you're not supposed to enter stuff strangers on the net tells you in your console:music_whistling:. Hope it makes any sense.
