They shouldn't be the only ones if I do well remember. Not sure. Nicolas

If there had to be a transport/gunship, it would more likely be a Puma ;)

Hi gents, files have been sent to polychop, so it should be fixed soon. Current workaround is to put the chinook landing zone outside from the FARP (more than 150 m away from the FARP icon). BTW, it is the solution I kept for the official fix.
-
To confirm by other people then. You should soon get an update to fix the various "Meatboy/Sluggy doesn't take off or land on my face". At least files have been given. Nicolas

Wikipedia talks about an ideal situation where the gun is grounded with no wind, and without any recoil. You are using it aboard a maneuvering airframe at 300 to 500 knots, which induces a far higher relative wind, higher recoil issue, and with an angled target aspect. This could explain the dispersion. So it may be IRL better than what you have ingame, but surely not like on the wikipedia page, which is, btw, a banned source for all developers. (Not fanboying or else, simply sounds pretty logical to me). Nicolas

Hi, After months of interruption Polychop team is now back to work on the Gazelle in order to fix, patch, and completely finish the job. Several tests are being conducted to fix this issue as soon as possible, as it is among top priority ones. More datas may be needed for this bug which isn't replicable in all scenari. More infos would be nice from you so that beta testers can be sure to do not forget anything. - Type of hosting : dedicated server/Player/Yourself - Multiplayer only or too in SP. - One or two players aboard the concerned helicopter. - If the issue appears on the first destroyed aircraft or on the 2nd/3rd etc... - Your current DCS version. If anyone else has met this issue, please post below respecting the list, any comment which doesn't follow it will be ignored. Thank you in advance. Nicolas

Hi, Waiting to get the new version to come with next DCS major update, as long as some major issues have appeared on this one. It would be pointless to release a fix for this only right now, as long as I may have to rework the entire mission. Once next major update is released and that I have the new files, I will make some tuning. Don't worry about your computer, it's simply that I put a bit too many AI units, and in 2015, it still used to run smoothly with GTX-970/I-7 3820/16 Go RAM in ultra settings... In 4K. But it seems that DCS optimization is currently quite bad. So pause the campaign until there is a fix, really sorry about this, so much work on it and then DCS simply destroys everything ^^ Nicolas

Pat check mp ;)

Ahah I didn't even look at the mission for this one, just thought "mmmh it lands on the FARP... So I know what did ED **** up !" I reconverted myself in organizing mass scenarized flights in the french community now, pretty better to fly with people ^^ Nicolas
-
Unless a polychop dev sees this, there won't be any official fix to the campaign, I'm not working with Poly anymore so I will try to give you fixes via the forum but I don't guarantee the delays ;) Nicolas

Simply edit the mission by putting the landing zone of the chinook (the little triangle when clicking on the chinook) outside from the FARP.

For the 3rd answer as long as it was an "opened" flight to everyone I couldn't answer, but I guess that it's the standard default one for most people (including me I guess). For the 2 first I will check them tomorrow and give you an answer ;) Any suggestion on it btw ? We organize a new mass flight on July the 26th. We may have new datas to provide to this thread.

Dear ED devs, In France we don't make pussy flights ! Last week we organized the first of a 3 missions serie with some 45 players on the same battlefield. The setup was the following : Server : OVH MC-32 upgraded https://www.ovh.com/fr/serveurs_dedies/game/171mc1.xml 17 Kamov-50 14 Sa-342 with 1 multipit 9 Uh-1 and 3 Mi-8 950 ground units on a 40*40 km square. Various ground to ground engagements... It was a complex mission. We managed to identify various critical issues, which, even if they may come from our server, will be common to many users of OVH servers which is the biggest EU offer - S-8TSM (orange smoke) rockts shot from a client kamov-50 will cause the server to freeze for the whole duration of the smoke (around 5 min). Standard mission editor smoke trigger won't cause the same issue. - On each Caucasus airfield, there are white&red trucks near the runway. Shooting at them will cause the server to freeze definitely (possible issue in the destroyed 3d model loading). Except those issues, we were able to conduct the flight to its end. FPS weren't really good, and some ground units were laggy when there were mike everywhere. But it was kinda good. So thank you for your good job, it wouldn't have been possible few years ago, please take into account this report as long as it's quite rare to plan such mission with so many clients and AI units on the same area ;) We are, of course, entirely available to organize testing on your request. The new values (current 2.1 stock values) consider that an AK rebel soldier is able to aim with his ak-47 in a circle of 5 m of radius from 1000m, estimating the speed and the range of my helicopter with a +-10% accuracy from 1 km. Wind isn't even an error parameter, so he will shoot as well in a storm as in space vacuum. If he runs in a field at 5 m/sec (15 km/h, nice pace), he'll loose 25% of accuracy . . . If he runs on a road, he will only loose 8%... Logical logic is very logical. And by the way, these error values will of course diminish if I go closer than 1 km. So unless you're yourself able to determine the speed of a Kamov-50 and its range with such an accuracy from 1km (which should induce that you've got some kind of futuristic what-the-****ish optical sight right in your eye and that you know the exact size of my helicopter), and shoot in a radius of 5 meters without being affected by wind in your prediction, or by the fact that you are shooting your AK in full auto mode, while running at 5m/sec, clearly, yes I totally disagree, it's simply ridiculous, the best way to break the game again, and I'd like some explanation about how it was "for the better" . That's very cool to model beautiful planes and helicopters, but without realistic challenge in front of you, it's better to fly FSX. Shooting Vikhr in stationnary from 8 km IS BORING. I'm supposed to pilot a flying tank, I can't even try to kill a Hummvee with rockts from 1.5 km attacking in his back without risking to loose hydraulics, Abris, and my Shkval. From 1200 at 90° at 150k km/h and against 5 hummvees in medium "dumbass" difficulty, I loose my engines in approximatively 10 seconds ! I never ever tried in excellent because I suppose that we would need ****ing Tomahawks ! But I guess that I still need training, after all 2500 h on BS isn't enough to shoot a Hummvee... Because I was talking about this Ak-47 guy, figure that the Hummvee machine gunner is TWICE more accurate. But the difference between this dude in his hummvee and the dude standing near it on his feet ? None. Nicolas

Here is the file usable with JSGME or OVGME or whatever. https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=164019&stc=1&d=1497032066 Mod IA Sensors for DCS 2.1.0.zip

I get you the file tonight. For the BMP I can make a mod, as long as in DCS it has an accuracy of 70cm*70cm from 1000 m.

Ok so finally found something which is quite much very funny. You fixed it on the stable version. Quite strangely not on the alpha, so if you copy paste the stable version it's like the Caucasus and AI won't be a sniper anymore. Please  I can do it for you if you want  And I know that I'm talking alone on this thread for the last 3 hours now  It's the "sensors.lua" file in scripts/database/scripts Please

So usually honestly I don't complain, part of the game etc etc... But I'm getting out from a mission on Normandy. 15 m/sec wind. If I get below 120 km/h with my kamov, a Humvee with its Cal-50 will shoot me from 1200 m on each shot, while I'm moving 90° from him, and diving. Could someone explain me how do you manage such thing with this ??? THERE isn't even a scope on this thing ! And don't tell me that it's hard to modify, everything is in one file, there are 5 lines per class of unit ! I don't ask shilkas to aim badly, I simply ask for standard private using a machine gun to do not take the job of a sniper ! Nicolas

Seriously dude you're saying that it may behave the same... 2.1 T for the M version, 1.1T for this one, not same rotor, not same turbine, not same aerodynamism... That simply a whole different helicopter. The only common point is the name. It's exactly like comparing the UH-1 first version with it's venom twin turbine last gen counter-part thinking that as long as it's the same name, it's the same on everything with few differences.

No worries there is something here indeed.

Hints on campaign mission 5 (destroy convoy at ambush point)?

Well, waiting for a new thread for the sixth mission then :D -

At 200 km/h you may be near from overtorque so I'd say that it's better to pitch a bit up, even if you go back to 190 kph. -

Again, it was made to be challenging ;) I hope there wasn't a mistake on the english version where the pdf reminder was removed :s The 5th mission caused many beta testers to die. I already had 2 000 hours on the Kamov-50 when I made it, and I used to lead patrols up to 10 players so I made a campaign that I judged hard enough for a mid-class helicopter student ;) Let's say that on a scale from 1 to 10, it's 6 average, and 8 for some. The interesting part of the campaign is that it may teach you reflexes on how using the gazelle, flying low, staying mobile, and about the tactical situation. In your case (mais on peut peut-être parler français vu que je vois que t'es suisse), you chose the harsh way by learning the helicopter from the beginning with the campaign. Well technically I don't see better (and more punishing) training so go on and keep trying. There are twelve missions, the hardest IMO are the 5th, the 9th and the 11th. It doesn't mean that remaining ones are easy. You can be sure that you will be far better once having finished them than before starting ;) Nicolas -
I remember that on the "pro" branch website of the simulator they talked about "a large community of over 200 000 beta testers". I really appreciated this way of speaking btw... But IRL, most modules don't sell more than 5 000 to 10 000 copies. So I guess that 30-50 thousand should be a good approximation.
