  1. All good buddy, this can be a very intimidating sim to get into initially but it's very very rewarding once you start to know your way around the aircraft and start to figure out how to employ it effectively. If you get stuck with anything else just ask, we've got a great community that has a huge amount of knowledge and experience here :) Happy flying.
  2. I had this as well and I found it was because I hadn't added the warthog joystick lever to the list of modifiers. Once I added it they went away. Edit: make sure you name it "lever"
  3. It seems to be coming along really well at the moment, the cockpit looks mostly done and the external modal i think is already in the game, plus on Matts last live with the F-5 stream at the start he did the ol' "what are those hornets doing there" similar to what he did with the F-5's just before they were announced. Starting to get excited, here's a link to the VFA-113 stingers site, they're following it pretty closely. Good times ahead. Also, yay for a possible iControl for the hornet! http://www.vfa-113.com/
  4. Just a quick questions Border, will you be doing something similar to this for the F-18? I know I grab it straight away and probably anyone who got it for the A-10 as well, I can't fly the warthog without it and the thought of not having it for the F-18 ( my favorite fighter of all time!) seems horrible. Just curious anyway, thanks for your hardwork!
  5. Hey mate, I have Icontrol for the A-10 as well and your right its fantastic, they're are a few options there man, most take some level of tweaking to get working, some more then others. Personally I've started using the Roccat power-grid for both the prop planes in DCS and flaming cliffs and I find it to be really good, you don't get a visual copy of the controls themselves on the device your using but it works very well all the same, it made for smart phones but I'm using it on my iPad with no troubles at all, you'll have to set it up to how you want it but that will only take one session of flying and figuring out where you want everything on the device your using, it has some limitation like you only get two custom panels then you have to buy them after that for a dollar or two, pretty cheap I think considering how much easier it makes flying for me but it's a personal taste thing I guess, here's the link http://power-grid.roccat.org/en/Store/Grids/ If your chasing something like Icontrol he's something I found for the KA-50 in my search but haven't had a chance to try it myself, it looks like it takes a bit more to set up but is closer to having the actual controls at hand, here's the link anyway mate enjoy http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=80303
  6. Was on the server yesterday and really had a ball once I eventually got the 190 in the air, fantastic server guys, can't wait to come back :pilotfly:
  7. Yep, I think Sabre hit in on the head, both aircraft are so good that it purely comes down to how well the pilot flies the plane that'll determine who comes out on top. I was flying the dora online yesterday on the Dogs of War server ( great server by the way guys! ) and when I was on their was more Mustangs then Dora's but the advantage was going going back and forth constantly. I saw a P-51 come near our base while I was climbing up to my cruising alt and thought I could get in behind him all sneaky like until he saw me and started turning, I figured I could just turn with him and bring him down to ground level and deal with him but no, trying to turn with the mustang is NOT a good idea if I hadn't been able to drag him back over the base and let the AA deal with him I would have been toast, as it was my beautiful plane got pretty messed up as it was because of my silliness, but when I strictly stuck to boom and zoom and kept my energy adv. and the tables turn quiet quickly. I think these two planes are a fantastic match up, ya just gotta make sure ya fly your plane to its strengths and not get sucked into flying to your opponents.
  8. Me too, pretty damn chuffed and since its the 6th here in Oz it shouldn't be long till i get a flight in my favorite plane of WWII :)
  9. Duel 680's soon to be upgraded to 780s
  10. So no PDF's then?
  11. A massive thanks for the videos guys, super appreciated. Just a question if I may though, I much prefer this start up procedure to the DCS one, but is there perhaps a PDF of the order to help me with memorizing the correct order? it would really help me out . Again thanks!
  12. I've never understood the whole "will it do the Cobra" question that constantly pops up on this board, you would think questions about its avionics and the level of realism that it'll have would be much more important.
  13. Yeah I agree with you Ripcord, I enjoy FSX a lot for what it does, which is let me fly some VERY HI fidelity aircraft anywhere in the world, experiencing real weather and fairly decent ATC to boot. I don't just love aircraft because they blow stuff up and FSX allows me to explore that as much as I like, sure I have spent a far bit of cash on it but t looks stunning and I get a hell of a lot of enjoyment from it. Of course that said I sure as hell will be getting this add on as well, I have the superbug with tacpack and this will be an excellent addition, I cant wait for FSX at war to get realised to go with them, whenever the hell that is.
  14. I've got duel 680's with trackir 5 using the same drivers as HMA above and other then a strange glitch where my center spot occasionally resets to a lower spot then where it started I don't have any real problems, at least it feels nice and smooth to me. Sorry to ask but are you minimizing the trackir software when you start playing? that can cause problems I've found.
  15. Yeah that prob needs to be tweaked some but you also have to take into account that your shooting 12.7mm Machinguns and both those aircraft are spitting out 20mm cannon shells so they're gonna do more damage to you when they land then you're doing to them. Something to think about at least.
  16. Yeah threw some money behind this, definitely cash well spent I reckon  Good luck guys, Lookin forward to flyin this baby :joystick:
  17. Bravo ED, bloody good stuff
  18. Actually there's normally 60 + people on the ATAG CLiffs of dover server most weekends, it's a bit slow during the week buts that too be expected really, its the only server to really play on but its a good one with a good bunch of guys too, I try and get on every weekend and with he new MOD patch due out in the near future it's only gonna get better in my opinion. But ah yeah RO2, bit of a shame really, it could get quiet tense online, I had a lot of fun with it till it was very quickly left by the vast majority, maybe not COD/battlefield enough for most people :/
  19. cheers for the tip hRiech but I've checked that ( I've made that mistake in the past ) it's certainly a weird thing it was all running well till I connected up the second monitor. Very strange indeed, more messing around with it I guess. sometime it feels like I spend more time messing with my Sims to get em to work rather then playing them :(
  20. Hey Guys, I just got this installed and set up with my new second monitor, it all connects properly but the problem I'm having is that once I've got it set up with the MFD's and CDU on the second monitor using the display configuration tool, the sim now runs at 5fps and no faster no matter what I do. I'ts definitely not my rig as it's brand and very high spec, I'm kinda pulling my hair out with this so any help would be fantastic guys, thanks
  21. I'm in the same boat, I've a fairly top end system ( details below ) and my game runs at around about 30 - 35 fps, it actually runs worse then my old system which of course seems quiet strange, my settings are pretty much the same except my resolution which is now 2560 x 1440 for my new monitor as opposed to 1920 x 1050 ( I think ) on my old system. initially I had most settings pretty high as I figured my rig would smash it but thats not the case and now I'm lowering things to try and find where the sweet spot, it's a little disappointing to be honest that DCS can't seem to take advantage of newer systems. Of course if anyone has any suggestions for optimizing it I'd be very appreciative. 22. Just an update in case someone else has this problem, disabling SLI seems to fix it for those with that set up, a bit of a drag but a work around none the less.
  23. Ah i see, bummer, it's a new computer and I just finished getting everything installed correctly on it, I don't know if I really want to go through the hassle of doing it all again, I might try some other things, failing that a second monitor might be the way to go. Thanks anyway mate.
  24. Hey hreich, a quick question if I may, how dd you solve the problem of not being able to extend the displays with the virtual monitor with out getting the "unable to save settings" problem ? I had it working with my old computer but just can't seem to sort it out with my new one, could the fact its SLI be the problem ? any help would be great, cheers.
