  1. heh..I understand exactly what you're saying, but in this case, that site is dedicated for the distribution of models for games as long as they can't be altered after, which it can't once converted for LOMAC, as you said. It looks like you bought the model, so you definitely have full rights to use it. You're completely within the LUA and have nothing to worry about, but if you don't wish to, it's alright then. It looks like the whole process is quite simple once you have it down the first time, and after this sub, why not take more models from over there, especially plane models, and convert them into LOMAC...just for us to see at least!   3. LOL! Look at the Admiral! Where did you find the model? Looks Superb, definitely hope you keep fiddling with it till' you get the size right, Would love to see that ingame.
  4. This is not a new aircraft, Strikemax is simply making a new 3D model for the existing Su-27. Why would we need a new pit and such? The content is already in the game. The way I read it, it seems like all you do to switch in a model is place in the file, remove the old, and give the new one the name of the old. It's just like the Beatle model in the other thread that was already successfully implemented! All the data files for the hummer are there, so all he did was switch the 3D model, and it appeared ingame. When destroyed, the beatle's damaged model showed up as a Hummer, because those files have not been replaced. So in that case, if we had a larger community, we could be seeing new models every which way, installing them with ModMan! Infact, this SHOULD develop the community!

You can import models in for your own use, new buildings, airports, vehicles, plane models, I mean this is it! Just wondering how this will work though. Will we be allowed to create a model for, and fully distribute it to everyone. So say StrikeMax's Su-27 model, when completed, can we make it a LOMAN file and simply install it like that, replacing the needed files and such.

  7. Beautiful shots there. Would all this extra weight from the payload have any major effect on the aircraft's performance? I mean to what extent? And I assume the fuel tank is definitely empty.
  8. So all it does is remove the shadows, which results in the FPS gain. It isn't some fancy-smancy trick.

  12. MYGOD that must be one of the best pilot's in the world, he was skimming the blades of the grass! When he nosed over once clearing the treetops, I would cures shit to myself every single damn time, It just scared me that bad! Sheesh....can you imagine youreslf on that helicopter? I would be snug up against the back of the chair clenching the armrests like there was no tomorrow, with my heart in my stomach.

  16. Super, I think saying that "lockon ends with BS" is very misleading. The lockon name indeed will stop after Black Shark, but that's because UBI owns it and Eagle can no longer use it. But the actual sim or engine itself will move on to future endeavors such as the A-10C trainer, TBS, and from those, may come versions angled toward the public. We WILL see more after BS, just maybe not with the name LOMAC.

Goya and GG covered #'s 2 and 3, but in regards to #1, the best tactic would be to F-Pole, in which you maximize the distance between you and the enemy, flying at just the boundary of losing lock. You turn into the enemy, fire a missle, and pull back out keeping the distance between you as great as possible without losing lock. By the time the AIM54 Reaches you, it'll have lost most of it's energy and a simple pull into the missle will cause it to overshoot.

  21. Was this the incident in which the wire snapped and the plane continued into the water? Did the pilot survive? Could someone please download the video and just upload it to Youtube or google?
  22. Oh yes, I've completely forgotten about this project because of the fuel-tank one! You've submitted it approximately 3 months ago now, have you gotten word back? I would love to see your MK82 model showcased in the next batch of ED screenies. ;)
  23. heh..I've been gunning buildings since day one, My A-10 rips through armor far too easily!
  24. No...it's been like that with the introduction of FC. Damage modeling and the placement of fires has been much MUCH more realistic all around, noticably AI aircraft and flyables, but in addition, buildings have multiple fires that seem to billow out windows. This effect is easily created by simply straffing a building. It will get that small fire spread effect. This is the same with other objects, even Light houses!
