  1. +1 Single threading of AMD (mostly used in games), has substabtial lower performance than intel.
  2. You already pointed good and bad. I just want to add that I3 is very good for office computers or low-end laptops. And yes... the price worth!
  3. Jack, it looks for me that you are not aware about the big changes produced and the quality of them. You were used to play SFM and now your brain and reflexes have to recalibrate for something more real as it is PFM. I kindly recommend you read the terms here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2039947

A very nice free update gift, the RUF: Useless to say this is my favourite car ever !!!
  5. Yes dig_it. I had my issues too with some Saitek and Logitech devices. And I helped other people too. Using what I described earlier. I just tried to give a hint not to derail the topic for showing off. BTW, that IRQ tuning era has ended long time ago. If you solved your issues by reinstalling OS, well lucky and good for you. As far as I am concerned this is not anymore a solution but a former Win95/98 approach. New versions of windows (especially the mighty 8 ) are far more evolved than 15 years ago...
  6. Nowdays all peripherals are USB conected. All of them need some 5volts and some various ampers values drained out from motherbord. Some fancy mobos have USB ports capable to give up to 1A while most of them only 500mA. Is already well known that Saitek have devices which demands lot of power. It will be good to have few things in the mind: 1. be sure all conectivity is perfect. Electrical flapping give almost always system crash on motherboards with unfiltered usb. Be very carefull to usb cable extenders, use gold plated ones. 2. when multiple usb devices will be used be sure that the most electrical power demanding one have an external powered hub Reinstalling OS, playing IRQs are just placebo effects and the problems will reocur soon.
  7. You can be sure that it is not worth to try to overcome some engine limitations when you know that a new optimized one is around the corner. We all already know that are multiple law implications in all what this sim offer currently. We know VEAO struggle with Hawk licence, we all know those two helis initially started as free mods that are in trouble to use real names. We don't know ED behind the stage activities... but this does not mean that they are not doing such things. On the other hand, everybody wants ultra super fast jets, super complex electronics on board, so on and so forth... strange part is that always on the multiplayer lobby the VA server is almost always full ! And no god damn single fire is been shooting there. How do you think a Cesna/Piper/Extra300 will fit there... ? Or a C130... I tell you: just perfect !!!
  8. Beta-only !!!
  9. TrackIR is an issue free device. Works on anything...
  10. Nothing to be done, this is how it works.
  11. Bump ! I am really eager to know this server/connection works .
  12. A new server is up and running.... testing .... for dogfight. Watch out for "Tom & Jerry" !
  13. I want to test people interest for fast paced dogfights with ww2 era planes only. This is somehow like the good old time on IL2 servers. Do you have only 15 minutes to spare in simulation? Are you looking for some direct action? Tired to wait for your mates in a lobby to start the mission? Well, the above tries to sum up the reason behind this server interest test. This is a home i7 laptop with an SSD and 6Gb RAM, connected by wire (1Gb link) to internet. The mission is plain simple, with no extra monitoring of any kind for now. In order to put both sides somehow on par there are 5 P51 set on 10000 ft while the german planes are only 3 and slightly lower at 6200 ft. Your feedback will be welcome here: - connectivity situation - mission balance - anything else
  14. 2 options: - simpler, more precise, and extremely reliable MSFFB2 - complex HOTAS - Logitech G940. Not so accurate until you will tune a little bit. Some electrical/electronic skills and a bit of will are needed. Both are obsolete devices. MSFFB finished to be produced somewhere in 2004 and G940 somewhere in 2011. You can find them however as second hand products.
  15. I also would be extremly glad if this app will cover other planes, especially SU-25T and SU-27.... and all rest... :)
  16. Tablets with Windows 8.1 start to rise in the market, from cheap versions to expensive ones. Having in mind the general inutility of Android OS :D, I think that a version to be published into Windows store will have a great added value for you as developer as for us as customers. Actually you are double winning because it can be used from any other PC/Laptop as well as for tablet. I am reffering to those tablets with Intel Atom and windows 8.1/bing, not the RT version nor Windows phone. RT version of windows seems to not have a long life anyway, but those Atom tablets are just superb.
  17. This is an issue already addresed and will be solved very soon, within the new EDGE engine... I suggest you to follow EDGE evolution on the forum and wait a bit more until it will come live to us.
  18. I really hope that too! :) Most of us are in a small vacation arround X-MAS and New Year Eve, so there is more time for bug hunting then usual ! Dedicated server will be very very welcome:pilotfly:
  19. At 0:05 the speed indicated onboard is almost 0... :)) Either a funny mod or a big mistake... I would go for a funny mod though! :D
  20. Can we have an estimated price for NTTR map? I understood is free for those with A10C beta... but I am not on that group so I am really interested about it as I have to buy it x2 times :D
  21. Very helpful Harle, this is first time reading an unbiased review of it. Still hope they will create a force feedback version soon. Enjoy your new toy :) !
  22. RRG unfortunately was unrealistic. This project was their second failure after Luthier IL2 CLOD failure too. Both projects were took over by other teams and we were just lucky that we have the final products, otherwise... they remain just suspended. That's why they took the flack here. On the other hand @rubblebeam... RRG worth be mentioned only as sort of a starter, but I am glad they are out because they were trying to create a sort of two independent products, with a kind of dual license or so. On the other hand , the P51 was made well before RRG, so let's not over-crediting them. As final words, things are going in the right direction now. Work speed have been increase, 3rd parties are in, new engine close and the latest modules have been fantastic... ALL of them. I had read on some other sites some strange attacks toward ED and their leadership some while ago, but the latest things evolution are just contradicting those frustrated ex-colaborators or whatever else were they! ED visions and their future plans are OK. Things are working at a normal human speed and not with typical american marketing bullshiting... To preserve the subject: I want also to hail ED team from A to Z ! You are doing a great job!
  23. It will be very helpful to write here your impressions about this Mamba. As I can see you can even compare it with warthog... so, please make to us a quick review :)
