Energy rating says up to what power level the PSU have a stable output. I am using a power source and I am almost reaching that rating level. In that moment the capacitors are starting to whistle :). That is not a good sign but it is working like this since 2 years ago with no issues.

Q: currently in order to use external tools based on data exports (as HELIOS for example) DCS need to work in window mode which is making an SLI configuration useless. How will this work for DCS 1.5?

Su-25 Alt commands Level Flying, Roll, Etc.
Abburo replied to lockon2015's topic in Su-25 for DCS World
There is a particular behavior for SU25T indeed. When you turn off your autopilot you need to trim manually your plane to neutral behavior. Check your controller settings for trim and make use of them every time when you shutdown the autopilot. -

I see no relation or any smallest refferal to DCS. It could be e somebody who's having some 3D modeling fun time. -
Windows X, Free upgrade for the first year.
Abburo replied to SkateZilla's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Not too late for me, thank you. I had my doubts about activation so I did not rush myself to this update on my gaming rig. Other people needs to be adviced too , as they were pretty sure about answers without real testing. -
MFG Crosswinds and MS FFB2 in Windows 10?
Abburo replied to San Patricio's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
FFB2 is MS native and have the drivers embedded in the OS since some generations ago. MFG is a pretty standard joystick controller so I would not worry about it either. -
Q: will dedicated server be released with 1.5 ?

IPS vs. TN ... TV vs. Monitor
Abburo replied to EAKMotorsports's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
You are generally right, I will add though it is a matter of FOV more. If you manage to fill up your FOV (and be confortable in that position) then you are on the right track. -

IPS vs. TN ... TV vs. Monitor
Abburo replied to EAKMotorsports's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
For gaming TN is the only acceptable type. I just bought mine 4K TN GSync 60Hz. The only drawback is the 28" size which is very small. I compenste this by mounting it on an articulate arm and keep it as close as possible. Before i used an full hd plasma 42" panasonic which again was perfect as gaming monitor - no latency at all, close to old CRTs What I like in 4k is that for DCS the spotting foe planes is better, along with all very smooth edges. Antialising totally disabled -

50Gb to 5 mb -> sounds like an animated GIF for me :) You need have some tradeoffs for sure, but for the above example the quality will be so low that nobody will ever watch it and the feeling of the movie will be lost too. -
DCS WORLD 2 PREVIEW – WWII AIR COMBAT by Chuck
Abburo replied to uboats's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
I used to make scale models too (hope that I will resume someday this small hobby ) and I have to agree that the modelers community are very strict up to anger and hate regarding the historical markings. Colors temperatures, weathering, have to be exactly like the original. The funny part is that there are too few color pictures of that times and even those existing does don't reflect the real colors. :). I am very amused about the american green cockpit color ( P47 for example) ... a lot of debates about this... but in reality that paint was made on the airfield by mixing a bucket full of black paint with other bucket full of yellow paint. Those were left overs paints and they had to use everything. Now, was there one single green color... I am pretty much in doubts about it. However, we are humans, we need always to debate something. DCS should focus on the game engine and flight dynamics. These are the main aspects which made it number one. I really don't care about historical correct markings, I don't want to create reenactements in this game. Those who desperately need this can create 100% correct skins by themselves (even this is not really true :) ) -
Microsoft FFB2 Sidewinder New Owner
Abburo replied to OnlyforDCS's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have both MS FFB and G940. For some reasons I like more G940 effects, but it has a weak point while on neutral where it has a slight free movement. For this reason MS FFB become more precise in this position. I also cannot think at flying without FF. And I really cannot understand why a Warthog quality/precision is not combined with a FF ... -
advice for buying second video card
Abburo replied to wolle's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
If your GTX770 is the version with 2Gb then just switch to newest 970 or something. Do not buy the second one. If you have 4Gb video RAM then with a SLI configuration you are safe playing anything 1080p full details at super FPS rate. -

When an FF efect will occur you normally counter it with your hand. That is why that sensor will enable FF as long as your hand is on joystick. Like a steering wheel bumping with no hands on it.... it will shake/move/tremble in all directions. This sensor is doing a great job, you have to get used to it without covering. As a tip: you can trim a plane/heli and then you can put your hand outside sensor area and the plane will remain trimmed without having to work with the real trimmers. This is not aplicable to G940 which sensor is returning the joystick on the center. -
I am still enjoying a lot the freeware SU-25T and it's older brother SU-25A (from FC3). Then, the easiest plane to fly WW2 era is DORA (best ergonomic and pilot free monitoring during flight), but you can also train yourself with freeware unarmed TF-51. TakeOff and landings are the most tricky maneuvers :D. Sabre and Mig15 are absolutely marveleous... but keep them for later.

Leo's site is back online ! :) Which was the chance that I could need something exactly when his site was down? :D
-
Thanks a lot for the software Hans. It was exactly what I was looking for. I really do hope that is just a temporary status and he did not infringe any stupid corporate patent. His boards are very well optimized and a real value for this community.

Does anybody have any information about the Leo Bodnar site not being available anymore ? http://www.leobodnar.com PS: I need the software used to control all his controllers: BBI-32, BU0836A and BU0836X. Very much appreciating your help.

A WARNING ABOUT MS UPDATES FOR WINDOWS 10
Abburo replied to Aviators's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Some statements are true, some are just personal fears or related to your personal environment. I know about unaware CPU usage coming from so much different sources so that Windows itself have nothing to do about ( various trusted antiviruses, AMD Catalyst, so on and so forth) rundll32 usage is also trigered by other software programs too. Analyze your OS deeper and do not hurry up ranting it witout a very clear understanding of what is under the hood. The Windows 10 update icon is something that bothered me too but by no mean that one add any extra usage on yor OS. PS: Windows is curently a very mature OS and is very well optimized ( unix like approaches have been adopted too). -
I am experienng these issues too... and SU25A is by far my favourite plane (don't ask why)
-
Civ planes should appear in DCSW ... :) can be anything.

Over all these questions/facts/news ... what is the status of DCS dedicated server? Is this still planned on a post patch or there were some further work been done to it?
