Depending on how much of Russia you count, the Caucasus map has anywhere between 150,000 and 200,000 km² of detailed terrain.
-
Do you know that for certain? Because the actual quote was: (my emphasis) The implication there was that the map is currently being developed and that it would be announced at some point. Not that it's already deployed in a different product.

The Corsica HD video is 8 months old, and is the source of the screenshots in the WW2 Kickstarter page. The screenshots Wags said are from "an unannounced map in development". I'm all confused now. If that was the state 8 months ago, what do they have now? Was it in development for DCS:W?

If it's technically the second, then it can't be the first. But actually, it's at least the third. There was one initial release of 1.2.5 on Steam that had a working Steam integration. Then there was at least one hotfix to 1.2.5, maybe more, and at some point the integration broke. Then 1.2.6 was released with the same broken integration.

Others have said, but to expand: starting DCS from Steam only runs a launcher that quits instantly. On the Steam status I show up as "Playing DCS World" for a couple seconds. I'm sure the first version of DCS:W for Steam worked properly, and I think I remember using the steam overlay to chat.

The A-10C is correcting for magnetic declination. The Kobuleti runway's true heading is 64 deg. You can see the airport maps on the SU-25's kneeboard with true headings, but I don't know if there is a way to show them on the A-10C.

This looks much better than the Nevada pics. Either this map is farther along, or the graphics settings were better (or postprocessing happened).

Indeed, and they are essential. Strafing the Las Vegas Strip won't really be the same without suitable amounts of panicking civilans. I mean, we are all planning to do that at least once, right?

I'm no expert, but I know helicopters are noisy. Very noisy. I imagine talking to the door gunner or even the copilot is easier over intercom than by shouting.

Warning: Speculation and entrail readings ahead :music_whistling:: I wish. But if you search for Corsica in the current game files, you'll find a reference to something called CORSICA_NOISE (Along with TURKMENISTAN_NOISE, NEVADA_NOISE and CAUCASUS_NOISE). That makes me think Corsica will be the focus of the map. Probably a small training/technology demo map.

They are going to sell the mustang and the dora. From what I gather, there will be separate "stores" for DCS and DCS:WW2, with some degree of cross-compatibility. If so, it makes sense for RRG to get a cut of ED's plane sales for DCS:WW2.

More than being unattractive, I find the stretch goals are too far apart. It takes 375% of the base goal to reach the first one. At this point, it seems quite unrealistic. It looks like it will reach maybe 200k total, not much more. So what happens with the extra 100k?

Now you just need to work the russians into it somehow, and you have a perfectly good plot for a DCS campaign.

What you just described is called structured programming and has been accepted as the proper way to write code since the 70's. So what's the problem?
-
In case someone missed this bit of info: Compare to first one for confirmation: https://maps.google.com/?ll=41.923546,8.762541&spn=0.027843,0.055189&t=h&z=14 So it looks like a Corsica map is in development for DCS. I'm really curious about the extension of the map. It's not a very obvious location for a combat sim.

Be careful you are not rotating the sight elevantion knob instead of lamp intensity. They are not that far from each other.

Last night I couldn't contact Gudauta tower at 130.00, while other towers worked. It seems the update has broken radio comms somehow.
-
I can fire the weapons just fine, so the arm switch is not the problem. The copilot gets a working sight too. But someone forgot to plug in the the pilot's.
-
Do you get a reticle with them?

The Huey cannot be activated in Steam. You can purchase it there, but its not on DCS when you start it up. So you can pay but not play
