All my other machines were built with Asus boards in the past, so I decided to stick with them. My last Asus board was a PC800E Delux for those that want a blast from the past. I looked at the at some of the other boards but the Newegg custom reviews from those that bought them were kind of scary. Some had a bunch of DOA's, other manufacturers seemed to have BIOS problems or they were very picky about which triple channel ram you could run. The P6t Delux seemed to have the best overall set of reviews.

Hi Evontroy, I will do my best to take some pictures and post my build findings. I don't know about a "log". I am so excited to get the thing built! :) Another update, my girlfriend ordered the TrackIR 4 for a gift. It should be here sometime next week! :) Assuming that nothing arrives DOA, I should be up and running by the 29nth.

Newegg just dropped the price on the DTX260 OC down to 200 bucks. This is for the 192 version not the 216+ version.

Hi Fudd, thanks for the response. It certainly wouldn't be plagiarism if you gave the author credit, which is what I said I was going to do in my post asking for permission. In other game communities, it is considered a good thing if a map you made is played on lots of dedicated servers. It signifies that the author of the map created something that lots of people like to play and those good maps spread like wildfire in the community and they keep the community engaged over the long run. I see that this community is different and that is very disappointing. I do however understand that a lot of work went into these maps and I appreciate the work that you and others have done here. I will abide by your wishes and not host any of the 159nth maps on my servers. Thanks, Alpha

Viper, Would you mind if I hosted some of your maps? I would make sure that folks would know in the mission summary that the server was mine but I would give you credit for the maps and have a link to your site and forums for questions about the map. The server related questions would have to be posted on my forum. I was hoping you would not mind but I wanted to get your permission first. p.s Thanks for all the hard work on the maps. I enjoyed the first Valley of Death and the Weapons range.

I think I am going to run pretty close to stock for now guys. I am using the stock CPU fan that comes with the Corei7 retail at the moment. I used to build gaming machines every few years. This is my first one since 2002!!! I did a TON of research on every component to make sure that I had some upgradeability in the future. I will post some frame rate screenies when I get her built! The release of Black Shark finally made me go through with building a new machine. My Core Duo laptop just isnt' cutting it. Happy holidays to all.

Is this multi monitor framerate problem on the NVIDIA cards an issue as well? I am ready to order a video card for my corei7 system and I don't want this to be an issue.

Hi Evil, I have been thinking about doing this. I have a web hosting account and adding a teamspeak server with 30 slots would not be a problem. I do however need somebody with some good photoshop/web skills to donate some time and come up with a good forum theme and web site home page. I don't want a Black Shark community site to look amateurish. I would be more than happy to host a 30 player teamspeak server and forum if we could put that together. I could have the domain registration done pretty quickly and I could have the domain parked on my current web hosting account within days. If we could accomplish al that, all that is needed is some dedicated mature forum and teamspeak mods to regulate the community. I just registered ka50.com Let me know if you are serious.

I have a dell e1705 that matches your laptop specs. Mine has the 7900GO in it. My desktop also matches yours and I have the same video card. I can say that the laptop will be better as long as you have a great video card. Just a warning, you WILL want to build a new machine for this game. The laptop does OK with water and effects off, all details set to low at 1680X1050.

Ok, I tried this a few times and it doesn;t seem to be working. I tried editing waypoint 1. Keep in mind that the coordinates that I am entering is a random spot on the map that i am on.

I think it depends more on: 1. Internet Connection(bandwith) 2. Server specifications(memory/cpu/ram) video card..this will be a consideration until they provide a dedicated server module that can be run from the CLI 3. Client connection to the server 4. Mission type(how many moving objects with tasks in the mission) as well as triggers

Absolutely wonderful job ED. I have been out of computer gaming for 5 years. Black Shark has brought me back into PC gaming and I am building a CoreI7 machine for this game! Thanks a lot! I bought the Russian AND English versions. Can't wait for a dedicated server module for this sim. I plan on hosting Black Shark games for a long time.

Guys, you can use a program called SetAffinityII. It is free to download and it works like a champ. No more alt-tabbing to set the affinity.

Hi all, I did RTFM but I am a little confused on what the process is to input coordinates into the NAV system and have the aircraft fly to those coordinates using enroute mode. Are there any good step by step instructions? Thanks

I bought the russian version and yesterday, the English version. Good detailed flight simulators are so hard to come by these days(except the Borg Microsoft version of course) that I don't mind paying money for a good high quality simulator. ED has obviously put a lot of time into this sim, and I would expect that they will continue working on Black Shark to add new features and patches. They need to have funding to continue patching and improving the sim. They have their 74 dollars from me and I hope they continue developing great sims. Great job ED. Thanks for the awesome SIM!

For those that have the English version, can you check the affinity FPS workaround? I set the affinity to CPU 0 and 1 and taskmgr is showing that CPU 1 is maxed out at 100% while CPU 0 is almost idle when the affinity is set to both processors. I am on the English version 1.0 on Vista 32bit. This worked fine on the Russian version.

Will the DVD version include anything that the downloaded version didn't besides the obvious?(hard copies of manuals and software)

I guess my only question is does it matter what version we run as a "host"? Any differences in server code from the russian version to the English version?

Same here...downloading right now. I am getting about 500k a second on the setup and data files from the second US mirror.

Thanks for the detailed response Ark! I will be playing at 1680X1050 because I have a widescreen monitor. The Asus P6t supports crossfire and the Nvidia SLI options. I have read though that SLI doesn't really help all that much in any game until you get into the higher resolutions. The Dell 22inch monitor that I currently use has the max resolution I mentioned above so I will probably be going with a single card. What type of framerates are you seeing with the 8800? At 1680X1050 I want to have the highest detail possible with the exception of maybe water.
