  1. Guys, visit us on the ka50.com dedicated server. We are running some missions by TX-Kingsnake. The MP missions are excellent and I have a feeling that this is only a preview of what the potential could be in the future. Black Shark is pretty new and a lot of people have not had the chance to really dig into the mission editor and yet we already have some EXCELLENT MP missions out there.
  2. Looks like the last update was in November..not sure what year though: Next version of HL is done. Lots of changes and one new game ... Changelog: - Added support for "Falcon 4.0 Allied Force" simulator. You need patch version V1.08 or later for HyperLobby Support. In Hyperlobby, server can preset theater, game type, number of max. players and all settings known from the Rules Of Engagement screen. These options are then fixed in Falcon so that you can be sure that these advertised settings are true when you join a server. - Fixed race condition preventing setup game server for users with fast internet connection. - Fixed bug aborting game search task when a folder with no users permision is found (on NTFS volumes). - Fixed chat input textbox cursor. - Fixed problems with refreshing "Games In Progress" slots. - Fixed problem When user save max players server options with incorrect value. - Game search can be forced by clicking the Right mouse button at the "Connect" button. - Added support for mouse wheel. This feature can be turned off in hlpro.ini file. This feature is not avalaible for windows 9x/ME users. - When is chat scrolled up, is automaticaly stopped. Scrol down enable chat again. - "Better" namimg of tooltips, menus and window titles, improved connection messages and error reporting. - Changed development enviroment from VB5 to VB6. Users using Windows 9x/ME must download and install "Visual Basic runtime 6.0". - Fixed few other minor bugs. Important note for "Falcon 4.0 Allied Force" players: - The game need setup UDP port forwarding for users using routers (with NAT connection). This is explained in the game manual section 27. Jiri How the heck can I have BOTH sig pictures on this site Loyal, it only lets me upload one.
  3. You can control all the deadzones through the TrackIR software. Simply edit the black shark profile and you can change deadzones to your specifications on each axis or you can copy a deadzone axis profile to all the other axis.
  4. Ok, I know that three hours is plenty of time for Retrograde as well, so I will get with the map rotator author to see if he can increase the times. Now I just need a third map to add to the rotation that will sustain a 3 hour MP session Kingsnake! :)
  5. So this is usable in MP? Running in windows mode costs me about 20 FPS so I will probably be waiting for a patch/modification that makes the implementation easier.
  6. The NVG implementation is certainly the best I have seen in a game of any kind.
  7. PC Gamer.....hmm Unless most of the game was a first person shooter where you climb out of the cockpit and find yourself in a field where (place whatever bad guy you want here) starts shooting at you, don't count on getting a great rating from them. You guys must have forgotten that the demographic PC Gamer is trying to market to is the younger "instant gratification" crowd which means that the manual cannot be any thicker than your average Xbox game manual.
  8. Hoorah, We use a auto mission rotator on the server to keep things interesting. It should only rotate the map every two hours. I can certainly get things extended to three hours but I am concerned that all the ground targets will dry up if we have a lot of MP activity.
  9. Vince, I respectfully disagree. Before I purchased my newest monitor I was on a Dell 21 inch monitor and had my TrackIR plugged in there and ran into all sorts of issues. Plugging the TRackIR into the USB port on my new machine resolved the issue for me.
  10. Good point. Leave the engine governors OFF. Start up your engines and set the idle to "full/emergency" on both engines and have fun. Try flying sometime with full realism on.
  11. I believe you need to be within a certain range(70km?) to hear radio mayak.
  12. Will the patch be delayed along with the release?
  13. I have had this happen to me a few times: 1. The INU is not aligned 2. I overtorque the engines, rotor rpm's drop during an extreme nose pitch to bleed speed and some systems go offline due to the lack of power.
  14. I ran BS on a laptop with a configuration similar to yours. There is information in the FAQ on how to edit the graphics lua to turn OFF water and effects. These are options that you cannot turn off completely via the GUI. It helped my framerates considerably. Also, drop your cockpit res down to 512. Made a big difference.
  15. And don't forget to disengage the wheel brakes! I see people online all the time try to taxi with the wheel brake on. It is kind of funny to watch. It is engaged by default when you startup.
  16. Feel free to visit us at ka50.com as well. We usually have folks on every night on TS.
  17. Hi guys, I appreciate everyone who is posting thier MP maps here. and I have run a few on our server with a lot of great feedback. When you guys post your maps on this forum, can you include the number of MP slots in the mission?
  18. I havn't seen one benchmark where SLI is actually beneficial for Black Shark. In most games, it doesn't help unless you play at high resolutions and there is actually a performance hit at lower resolutions. In terms of your CPU question, BS at most on my PC uses about 20%. This engine just wasn't designed to take advantage of multi-core CPU's. I believe the next engine in developement will. You can use the affinity trick though (see all the threads about that) which will provide a pretty good FPS boost.
  19. Thanks AlphaOne! Great info.
  20. How many multiplayer slots are there? I am looking for MP maps with up to 12 MP slots(and the mission is designed for 10 MP aircraft). 10 would be perfect.
  21. This is true: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Why_was_the_RAH-66_Comanche_program_cancelled But I also think they realized that unmaned drones might be better for strike capabilities as well. They will continue to retrofit the Apache with technologies created in the Commanche program but I doubt we will be seeing a new attack helicopter program in the US for a very very long time, if ever.
  22. You most likely changed your radio to the ground crew channel. Change it back.
  23. Waiting on the dedicated server piece. Hopefully that is included with the next patch.
  24. This is pretty interesting, especially after the US cancelled the commanche program back in 2004.
  25. Just curious, but why would you want TrackIR to have affinity on four logic processors. TrackIR doesn't use a lot of resources?
