Not intending to create an East side/West side war, but i think that the obvious reason to insist on Western aircraft is because of it's superior balance, in terms of pilot skills and aircraft capabilities.... Making the west side of the war more iconic in terms of air forces... If you don't believe, go to google and search for WW II fighter aces, and see which pilots have the most kills and the front they fought in... But of course i'd like to see russian aviation from that era come into the game Peace
-
Yup... Lots of eastern front skins missing... and the swastika, of course....
-
Problem solved, as i retract flaps and landing gear, the pilot seat lowers and i can see the sight reflex!!! Thanks alot :smilewink:
-
When starting from ramp, i can't manage to make the sight appear on the glass, where is the activation button for it? Cheers

Personally, i'd be happy with any of the options you mentioned.... :) But yep, i'd love to have the F-18C in my virtual hangar, just because along with the F-16, is the aircraft that can carry out most of the roles that a fighter can (and as there is no f-16 in the short term agenda).... I'd love to see the Coretex designs version too.... but i'm not very happy with their policy.... So, guess i'll stick with the 18C version... :smilewink:
-
Thanks!! It worked :smilewink:
-
Yep... is the problem related to it??

I'm having trouble requesting ground power to start the aircraft. When i contact ground crew to activate GPU, i get no response from them, anyone else having this problem?? What can i do to fix it? I have radio assists function activated...
-
Have it too, but only when in cockpit camera!! If i use external view, i hear the correct sound..
-
This one is quite ironic... Am i the only one thinking this?? :megalol:

Now that Dora is finally ready for release, what is the plan for the next months\years inside ED? Will we see the the F-18C take shape in full pace now?? Or is there another module that i'm forgetting that has higher priority?? Sorry, don't want to be forcing anything, just want to know (if possible) what is the next step... Cheers :pilotfly:

Don't know if it is a bug or if i'm not doing something that i should do... When i silect the missile mode on the console in front of the control stick, i start to hear the Gar-8 growl.... But when i select guns mode after using that, the growl keeps on going and won't shut up.... Anyone else noticed this??

Thanks alot man!!! :smilewink:

You can only use the bonus to a maximum of 30% reduction.... But i'm having trouble using my 18$ bonus, because i don't know how to do it....
-
What do i do to use the bonus on my purchase!!! It does not appear automatically....

when i said that it was hard for me to understand other ways of managing the engine, i was talking about the pilot itself, i mean that the most obvious way to do so was like in the p51 (setting a desired RPM with a lever, and setting the manifold pressure with the throttle)... Didn't know the superchargers on those engines were driven like that (and that detail itself explains alot to me :smilewink:). So, what you say is that the only thing the pilot has to do is set the ammount of thrust with the throttle lever and the control unit sets the best conjunction of throttle body opening, propeller pitch and supercharger load in order to extract the maximum efficiency (fuel) of the engine on every throttle setting??
-
Hey, man!!! i'm not sayong that there are nor gears between each other.... All i say is that there is no gearboxes between them.... there is a constant gear ratio between the engine and the propeller.... the only shing that changes is the blades pitch....
-
That's the hard part to understand for me, because in WW II there were no ECU's and all that is available today!!! I know that the Dora had a mad engine management unit (I take off my hat to the engineers behind it)!!! But the boost pressure was managed in order to compensate for the loss of pressure as the altitude increases (like the mustang, but the difference was that the mustang only had 2 supercharger phases). And as the supercharger was directly linked to the engine via a belt or a chain... It is very hard for me to understand other way of managing the engine than managing it by manifold pressure... But once more, i'm not saying that anyone is wright or wrong, myself included... Cheers
-
Don't compare a car with an aircraft!!! Completely different. In a car you increase throttle and the throttle body opens or closes, giving more or less air into the engine... On an aircraft i the same, but the propeller pitch auto adjusts itself to keep the RPM constant... so, if you increase throttle on an aircraft, more power will be available, more pitch will be added to the propeller in order to transform power into thrust without increasing engine RPM... The cars have gearboxes, that rely on gear ratios.... But that's a completely different story.... :smilewink:
-
Not saying you are wrong... But it is ironic that the aircraft has a constant speed propeller and the engine is managed by rpm.... shouldn't the rpm be constant, with the propeller pitch being managed by the manifold pressure, like the mustang??

Is the last update the final version of the manual??

I had DCS installed via steam, but last week i installed the standalone version, because soon the 3rd party content like MiG 21 and others will be out and it is not guaranteed they will all be available on steam.... If you have the stand alone version of DCS and you find a good deal on steam, you can allways do the purchase and insert the code in the stand alone version, as i did with A10C and Combined arms. But now, buying from the E-Shop and inserting keys in steam version is not possible anymore....
-
Oh!!! Ok, thanks!!! Devrim, looks like you'll make the day of a lot of people here!!! I'll wait patiently for it...
-
Didn't get your point... Can you explain?? :book:

Will the aircraft have an englis cockpit version?? Sorry if this was already asked before...
