I love the flight models of all aircrafts from WW II era in this game. But some shortcomings prevent the players from having a better experience. The first is, as mentioned already, the lack of air and ground units from that era. But this will sooner or later be solved with the release of the normandy map. Other one is the damage model. For example, when a wing breaks off, it doesn't feel natural. In IL2, sometimes you get shot on a wing and it only breaks when you pull a high G maneouver. About the gun convergence, I heard the argument that not every pilot wanted to set it up... Ok, if the setup was possible ingame, I believe that some pilots wouldn't bother setting it up too. And to the ones saying to leave it to the warthunder crowd, I'd say that these arguments presented by the thread opener are exactly the arguments that make me have a better overall experience in IL2 BOS... Leaving this game only for fast movers

Thanks alot for the explanation! Looking forward for this aircraft. It comes to eliminate a huge gap that exists in DCS, that is the inexistence of a 4th generation dogfighter! I'll have an aircraft for the upcoming years!

The question is that they told from the beginning that the module had only limited A\G capabilities (rockets, dumb bombs and buddy lasing for GBU's)... This aircraft's strongpoint is A\A... All people has to do is read this post: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=147288 It even explains why it doesn't use the Exocet

Razbam would have to implement the RDM in order to make the exocet usable... Personally, I'd prefer the implementation of the mica, which is much more important for this aircraft's role than the exocet... But that's just me ;)

Everyone is asking about the exocet... I have to admit that I didn’t know much about the mirage before buying this module, but despite that, it became obvious to me that an anti ship missile can't be launched without a ground radar, which this version doesn't have.

Guess that this is the aircraft I need to make some incursions in Mutliplayer... After a long training course, of course... :D

Did any of the carrier based fighters from WWII have reverse thrust? I never heard of one but... I just keep thinking about that update from LNS that had an image of a WWII carrier with a kamikaze flag

1 knot = 1nm, so it's basically the same. That' exactly what I meant! An FC F15's radar and the mirage's will be toe to toe...

I seriously doubt the F15 can reach targets that are more than 40km away... If you activate the labels, most of the time you can only lock targets that are already labeled or that get labeled shortly after being locked, and IIRC labels only appear when a target is 20kts away. And BTW, why complaining about a 40km range if I also fly the MiG21 and I love it??

He didn’t answer my question, and yes, I'm answering based on what we saw... and I keep what I said until some official news say otherwise... You are in this forum for enough time to know that progress takes time... Sometimes our desire to have a module in our hands makes us think that it will be ready sooner than it is plausible

IIRC we didn’t even see the RWR working so I bet that this aircraft won't be out before december... And this is probably me be being optimistic

I agree that is more than time to the creation of some russian airframe from the 80's to par with the F18 and the mirage... Because otherwise we will have unfair battles with the FC Su27 ang MiG 29... With these russian workhorses DCS would see a huge income of new players.... :)

I read somewhere that the RDI has a range of about 150 km. What's the AN-APG63 range?

The problem is that these tests are somewhat synthetic... If you see the performance from those processors in games, some of those on top will plunge on the chart... The difference between a 4790 and a 6700 ingame is about 1 ou 2 fps, and the same goes to the difference between 6700 and 6600...

Don't know if LN is actually making the Viggen, but ostriches tend to be more nimble than this aircraft... At least from what i've seen in this video...

Don't know if it has already been discussed, but the M2000C radar basically outclasses the AN-APG63 present on the F15C and F18C right??

DCS is not the only game I play... I also play IL2 BOS, RFactor 2, Assetto Corsa, and other games here and there... But from what I've seen, the skylake 6600 is toe to toe with some older I7 processors... Today I went to my usual computer store and after seeing some prices, I decided to go for: MSI Z170A Gaming M5; I5 6600K 16GB DDR4 @ 2400 (Cheaper than the 2133) :joystick:

For a few more euros I can get the I5 6600 that is superior in single thread aplications... About water cooling, I have a doubt, how often do you have to check the coolant level?
