It makes me think that this release date will not be as the other ones until now.... LN will sell the product on their own site (I think i read this sometime ago). The other titles released so far come from ED and BST (that works like a satelite of ED, i think)! So i wouldn't count on similar date differences between ED shop and Steam... :smilewink:

Man!! If the Dora is like this to takeoff and land, can you imagine how is ti gonna be with the BF 109 in october?! :music_whistling:
-
I double checked it, and they actualy open automatically. The only thing i didn't check was if after we open or shut them manually, they start to operate automatically by themselves again.... But i'll check it on my next flight Cheers
-
I'll give it a try and give the feedback later.... Thanks alot Yo-yo :smilewink:
-
Right, but weren't they supposed to have an automatic position to manage them during flight?? At least in the folloeing document (page2 item 5), they write about the radiator flap automatic controller....
-
I noticed that during my first flight, the water temperature started to increase dramatically, so as the water temp. Despite this fact, the radiator flaps remained closed, aren't they supposed to be automatic?? Anyone with the same issue?

It's out!!!!!!!!!!!!! Check the site!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like the KS backer page is now working
RNeves replied to the_soupdragon's topic in DCS: Fw 190 D-9 Dora
Oh!! Ok, i must have misunderstood it. Because i read somewuere that DCS WWII was to be a standalone game. Maybe this was why i thought that the normandy map was supposed to be free with the base game. Thanks for the heads up! :smilewink: -

The normandy map will be available as a freeware with one aircraft, i think... -
Will we have access to the Pilots manual?? Does it mean that the manual we currently have will be enriched with some more information? Cheers
-
Of course that i was adding some extra challenge by lowering the temperatures that much!! I don't think that the coolant could remain liquid at -50ºC, for example... The thing is, yesterday i took 3 stiches on my right hand after an accident at work, and i can't close it, so i can't grab the joystick... The only thing i can do is start the plane, so, here's why i'm trying such silly things... :megalol: But about the Pre-heat cart on the ground crew menu, i think it would not be difficult to implement, and certainly will be welcome!! Cheers
-
What about adding a new option for the gound crew, like "pre-heating cart" or something?? Would be nice to have it, since more WW II warbirds ar incoming.... :smilewink:

I read somewhere that as there is no "pre-diluiton" function, they made it possible to dilute the oil with the engine stopped, i think... And if you check, if you try and start the engine witout diluting, the propeller spins much slower than if you have diluted it with the engine stopped, and the starter lasts much longer. The problem is that no matter how much you use the starter, the engine doesn't catch... This is something that should be sorted out, because AFAIK, the ressuan air force flew the P51 (despite the fact they keep diminishing the fact that western countries loaned them war material an a certain point of the war), and if the P51 flew on the eastern front, it must have encountered conditions like this....
-
Hi everyone!! I was just spending my time waiting for the Dora to get released and it occured to me to try and recreate the eastern front conditions on the map. So i put like -50ºC, tried to start the mustang, and guess what? It didn't start at all. I tried to dilute the oil for many minutes, but could not start the engine anyway!! Anyone knows what to do to start it on similar conditions?? Cheers
-
This graphic made me want to buy the K4 too.... Didn't know that "Mr. Smith" was that good in comparison with both the p51 and the 190!! But for now, i'll be happy with dora and the p51 on my hangar... :joystick:

Is it the final version already?? I didn't print it yet because it might get updated in the future...
-
Great addition to the game!!! Now let loose the german fighters and their cannons.... :pilotfly:
-
Yup, this is vital information during combat, so, i think ED might have this covered already for the final version of the manual... Let's wait and see! It would be nice to have the manual this weekend, so that we had time to read it before the release date... :pilotfly:
-
Yup, you'r absolutely right!! ED could learn about engine failures by playing a little of Battle of Stalingrad! The engine failures there are awesome...
-
Battle of Stalingrad also brought an interesting feature to the damage model. When you hit a wing and weaken its structure, you can see it breaking shortly after the hits, or when the pilot pulls some G's to escape. Would be nice if ED added details like this to the damage model ;)

How much time can we run the engine at full throttle berofe losing it?? Is any reference to this in the manual?
-
G forces as we know it, are actually the measurement of the acceleration suffered in a certain direction. In this case we are talking about vertical acceleration (the one that makes the pilots faint). For example, a pilot experiencing 7G's is having a vertical acceleration 7 times greater than the acceleration of gravity... That said, the pilot's weight increases 7 times... :smilewink:

There is a big diference between russian stunts and american stunts... The americans make high speed, coordinated stunts (high G load). The russians make, most times, solo stunts at low speeds making mean maneouvers with the MiGs (low G load)... So this is why they do not use G suits! That's just a silly thing they say, because there is no way of supporting the G load a MiG or a F-18 can inflict without any G suit! And it is true about the MiG 15 pilots not having G suits, i once talked with a portuguese fighter pilot on the Portuguese colonial war memorial (they flew the F-86 on the early days of the war, before NATO forbiddened it, and it was replaced by the Fiat G91) and he told me just that, the f-86 pilots had that huge advantage, and the fact that they were sitting wuth their backs leaning back, instead of being vertical, but it only counted at high energy dogfights, because if they managed to pull the fight into low speeds, the MiGs were much more difficult to catch!
-
Of course the western front was more like shooting down bombers (to the germans) and defending bombers (to the allies), and dogfighting in the mean time (except for the battle of england, where some pure dogfighting also occured). But this should also mean a bigger kill count to the german fighters, because when the bombers hit the mark where the P47's had to return, it was meat for the griil to the germans... But in the end, western front german pilots do not appear on the very top of the list. And i have to agree with you that the eastern front pure dogfighting is more fun to us players... But back to the point, here is a list i found with the WW II fighter aces. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_World_War_II_flying_aces It is amazing how the eastern front german pilots overwhelmed the russian competition. And i maintain, this could only mean better training and better machines on the german side. But even though, bring in the russian machinery :pilotfly:
