  1. Ha ha, my reaction to that was actually "hmm, never heard of it. Guess that's what they call those seats that shoot you downwards, like in the B-52".
  2. You know what, that seems very likely now that you mention it. I put the Birds slider on 1000 not long ago, but nothing happened so I forgot about it until you mentioned it.
  3. Basically, had shot down the airliner in the Justice mission, and decided to fly back to base at very low altitude over the water, full afterburner. After a few minutes my right engine caught fire according to the warning system, and went down completely. Up until that point I'd neglected to check the gauges, but is that to be expected solely from flying fast at low altitude with zero battle damage?
  4. Because they're fun to fly? As opposed to the KA-50, where a majority of the input from the pilot is to the weapons systems and autopilot, as opposed to flying.
  5. Nice link, not heard of that site before!
  6. Reckon it'll be added in the hotfix they'll have to do when it's released so non-buyers can see it, and participate in missions with it.
  7. When we get EDGE, we'll hopefully see new maps. IMHO, if EDGE is as close as they say, it'd be a waste of time and resources to do more maps now, before EDGE. As for aircraft, we're seeing a very clear trend of 3rd party devs doing most of the modules because they can worry about that and nothing else. They will obviously make the modules they think will sell well, and since most people don't want a game that only covers the late Cold War - Today, that seems like a smart move.
  8. How much for a module? The most precious thing in the universe, a child's laughter. And cash, a lot of of cash.
  9. No, you're being ridiculous and ignorant. Until EDGE is done, there won't be any decent new maps, just low quality ones. I'd rather see them finish EDGE than throw out crappy maps. You not gonna buy an undoubtedly amazing module? Bad for you. Keep flying the same old planes and helicopters that you've probably flown for years now then, though it'll hardly make for a fresh DCS experience.
  10. "Modern" used to describe a nation that has not existed for over 20 years. Hmm...
  11. Weekly updates was what was promised. I don't see how that can be too much to ask for.
  12. Yep, that is really getting old. Pretty tired of that.
  13. One of the weirdest questions ever. Theoretically, yes, as it contributes financially to a developer team that may or may not one day make an F-4. If you're expecting them to confirm or deny that they will ever make a Phantom if you buy their Sabre, well, good luck with that I suppose.
  14. From reading the article, I interpreted it as that this MANPAD was an autonomous system.
  15. Linking a MANPAD to any sort of radar hardly makes any sense. They're very short range, and the reason that MANPADs today kill more planes than any radar guided missiles do is because it's impossible to jam them, or send ARMs against them.
  16. If that sound isn't WIP, I'd say that's what is misleading. I don't want to sound all grumpy, but really, if that sound isn't planned to be part of the module, I'd rather hear how it actually sounds.
  17. Seriously, hands up to BST for the Sabre already! In stark contrast to some 3rd party devs who seem to put on a lot of PR but little actual effort on their module, BST has gone from announcing that they're developing an F-86 early this year to announcing the imminent release date with less than half a dozen posts in the English speaking forum that I know of. Nothing short of amazing, great work Belsimtek!
  18. 1, That's ED's responsibility. 2, Irrelevant, the Sabre is a single seater.
  19. Yeah, no. I'm rather certain I'll enjoy then too. Sorry to disappoint you, but some people can actually enjoy things you don't.
  20. I'll remember to be bored with this "lost" plane when it's released then, because you said so... Forum polls; Totally how running a successful business works. Also, this is a BST product.
  21. You. Have. No. Soul.
  22. If I have access to my computer when it's released, heck yeah!

    Release??

Shamelessly quoting myself here, sorry, but I do feel it's of quite some genuine interest, not critical in nature. Btw, awesome pictures from Duxford. I can't wait to newer stuff!

    Release??

Still gonna make the 45 day release?
  25. Well, it doesn't look like a Mig-21 stick, so I'm guessing it's a replica of another Mig stick?
