  1. You can see two different RN- series bombs in the MiG-21s loadout in the ME. It really would be a nice touch, even if just simulated as a large regular bomb without any special graphical effects. Would be fun to have something that is practical with LABS.
  2. I too had it on the intercept mission. It only happened when I was pointed at/around the clouds. Will try again in ME to see if it happens there too.
  3. The LABS uses a different release mechanism, not the one on the bomb panel.
  4. LABS doesn't use radar AFAIK. It's strictly mechanical computers, timers, etc.
  5. I think he's referring to using the light coloured mechanism to the left of the sight. Flipping that one to the degrees I'll be diving and following the manual from the uncaging step works great for me.
  6. I don't see what's wrong with the flaps. It's either in down, up or neutral. Why should it be mapped as an axis when there's no middle room between those settings?
  7. Simple: Don't turn on both bombs and rockets.
  8. I think that'd be the damage to control surfaces that was mentioned when you either over speed or over G the aircraft.
  9. I like them because it feels like an easier way of confirming that you're doing a proper, level dive, but unless you have like five screens, I don't see how you're supposed to see them very well.
  10. Every time I attempt to divebomb according to what the manual says, I find that the caging, or rather, the uncaging doesn't take effect until the distance is very short (below 4000 feet). I hold down the button before diving in on the target, but it is not until below ~4000 feet that uncaging the sight actually seems to have any effect. At higher altitudes, it just seems to be stuck in the calculation phase indefinitely, and thus any sort of divebombing using the sight is completely out of the picture.
  11. The safety switch consists of switching the weapons selector to Off.
  12. I think the black knob to the left you're referring to is the range of the radar. I think setting it shorter means it doesn't have to "reach out" so far so to speak.
  13. Just noticed another problem with the MiG-15. It's rather, shall we say economical fuel consumption? The Sabre had a larger internal fuel load and longer range than the MiG-15, but when I recently tried taking on a MiG-15 I ran out of fuel. We were far out to sea, and IIRC, the AI will always disengage no matter what when they reach bingo fuel, but the -15 chased me until I ejected, and then it flew around randomly until I ended the mission.
  14. This. It's like flying a flight sim against an AI that is flying an arcade game because no one's ever bothered implementing even semi-realistic limitations on the AI. Just how they think the WW2 project will look unless something is done is something that scares me.
  15. Would make sense that smaller prop planes are hard to lock on with first generation heaters. I love it!
  16. LN, why do you do this to us? Don't you know we're already being mentally tortured waiting for the release? :P
  17. I can't get the bombs to work. Or rather, the A4 sight for bombing. When I cage the sight before diving in on the target, it tends to cage. Sometimes not, but mostly it does. However, when I've found my target and placed the sight on it, I can't get it to stay there when I uncage.
  18. As Sceptre said, it's about the MiG-15, not the GAR-8. As for the performance of the GAR-8, I have found it to work quite well. It's after all the first operationally used heater in the world, so don't expect it to perform like an AIM-9X with JHMCS. Pull less than 3 Gs when firing it, and for locking on, I've found a good method is to cage the sight and use it as a sight for the GAR-8s, approaching a target from behind. For smaller planes, you simply have to get quite close in. I've had no issues shooting down P-51Ds and FW-190s with the GAR-8.
  19. Fixed that for you ;) Belsimtek, I've said it before, and I'll say it again: You guys are just amazing! You do a lot to keep DCS going, and filled with interesting modules!
  20. He he, more like first hour buy for me. At least almost.
  21. Eh, they're in there, and I have no problems using them.
  22. Was it better than mine? I came in steep, quick and managed to lose control of the beauty trying to slow down, leading to it sliding around 180 degrees, almost perfectly lining up for a take off :megalol:
  23. Devrim is an absolute cockpit reskin Guru. If the 190 won't come with an English option, it's rather likely he'll make one, because he's simply great! I love the Mi-8 pit, nicely done.
  24. Agreed. The KA-50 would murder both. And the Huey is so different from the Mi-8. It's way more agile, better sight for all crew members, and especially the flex and door guns would be a very big advantage over the Mi-8.
  25. Who cares, what difference will it make to the plane?
