Question to Devs: Can you check this out?
BIOLOG replied to GGTharos's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Ok, if anyone actually bothered to read that article posted on the first page you would see that besides BIG 400km missiles S-400 would also have smaller 120km missiles, which are designed to intercept low targets and are very maneurable. Also S-400 missile has 3 stages IIRC and final one has trust vectoring. Don't know whether missile is smart (I'e. will it jettison all stages before doing final manevors onto the target), if it is It will be one hell of a missile... And btw... In Real life missile motor on Patriot and S-300 burns less then 10 seconds... As you will see from 1.1 :D -
Heh ... I just can't stop myself. To the Devs ...

LMAO... I say yes! -
Devs, please read - Russian radar related (again)

Hmmm... Olgerd, are two manuals that you've got from airwar.ru? I've seen some pages from third manual, which is real (non-export), but I highly doubt I can obtain a copy of it... I can try if you want thou.... -
Devs -any chance of info on buildings?

LMAO.... I like the toilet one and North pole... Toilet one reminds me of old "Siberian Toilet" joke, which you probably heard. -
 You did realise that I was kidding right?

Another post like that and I will tell you off for posting teh-porn on these forums! :D But I'll let you get away with it this time since I'm such a nice person :partyman:

Well... It's getting there... It is better in 1.1, but still have some glitches sometimes :?
-
LMAO, we can't run LOMAC maxed out now anyway, what's the point of putting more in? Although there are some new effects in 1.1, you might be pleased to hear...

Happy New Year!

OK, I start from the beginning... 1) HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! 2) Il-2 one of three most realistic flight sims that I know (LOMAC, Il-2 and F4, although didn't play last one much) 3) Il-2 does simulate less things then LOMAC, as described in earlier post 4) I was running LOMAC more or less allright with MX card. Yes didn't have much eye-candy, but it was playable 5) Have 6800GT now, and 1.1 beta's run quite well on that... Despite my crap CPU and second slowest memory that is widely awailable - PC133 SDRAM... If you got a good rig and LOMAC doesn't run well on it, well... Perhaps you need to optimise your system properly. Of cause theoretically, "you don't have to do that because you payed for the game ect", but this is one complicated software so... Unfortunately it won't just work. Sorry, but that's a sad fact in life. -

Because LOMAC is a proper SIMULATOR. It tries to simulate as real combat enviroment as possible, therefore having less simplifications then IL-2... Therefore requiring higher computing power... also... LOMAC and Il-2 graphics are hardly comparible... -
A-10 is a flyable already :D

I haven't got a clue Jaws :D I just heard that, lol... Was in some discussion over in Russian forums a while back...

Well, I'm guessing it will come out by 2010, by which time I would hopefully finish my university and be finishing my PhD :D

Sim is stable. As I said earlier, on my rig, which is far from the top, (P4 2.2GHz 400FSB 768 PC133 SDRAM and GF 6800GT/TD 128Mb), game only crashed when extremely high time acceleration was used in a mission with a LARGE amount of AI planes/tanks ect. ?And these crashes were because I have somewhat "weak" CPU, and "dirty" system, so My PC couldn't cope. Generally there is quite a good leap in preformence from 1.02 to 1.1, even thou 1.1 is not yet completed. If I somehow said that 1.1 is not unstable, I appoligise, for misunderstending. What I ment to say, was that fully optimising source code, as some people want it, so there will be no bugs, ect is IMPOSSIBLE. -
New Driver - probably not. However, it should decrese screen corruption, which sometimes occurs on some systems. Also, regarding full-screen playback.. I assume you are talking about Windows Media played, although this is know to happen to some other players as well... The way I fixed it, was by downloading some sort of update from windows media player site, and after that everything works like a dream! Worked fine with 66.** drivers, although now I'm on ASUS 62.17 drivers... which are crap, but I will reformat in a couple of days and install the new drivers... Priobably ones from nVidia website, 66.83 I think they are... Or Omegadrivers... If you heard of these

Well, I think that DVD worth of source code isn't exactly "easy" to optimise... And it's sure as hell is time consuming. They might do that for the future product... IMHO LOMAC uses parts of Flanker Source code, which wasn't fully optimised either. Which was probably due to time and/or finansial constraints. -
Well, 1.1 doesn't crash for me... BUT I'm not running SP2... Also it does crash during some extreme tests which I had to conduct (playing large-number AI missions with <100 time acceleration). but that was probably because my old CPU... Anyway, are both of you running SP2 at the moment, and when did you reformat last time? Or had a clean install of windows last time?
-
Flight modelling is pretty much over. IMHO. Now we need to catch all the bugs (which is impossible btw, so lets hope to catch at least 80-90%) :D
-
Hmm, to be honest, it's the first time I hear about it. However, SP2 causes problems with A LOT of things, and I really don't recommend running LOMAC with it installed. Also problems you described with mouse/keyboard remind me of problems that I had when my windows was installed incorrectly. I fixed them by formatting harddrive and reinstalling... Anyway, do you recon you can run LOMAC on SP1 normally?
