Wich mod? Can't be the label one i posted above...
-
Hi, For first time in DCS, managed to get my first kill without any labels! :cheer3nc: Might sound stupid to some virtual pilots here, but with high resolution (2560X1440) and my half century's eyes now, it's a real challenge to spot and follow something in DCS... In others sims, i used to fly and fight without labels (i.e ROF has excellent dot rendering - but planes are slower though), but in DCS the last past weeks i was kind of desesperate to never beeing able to turn labels off. Now it's done, but using this nice label/DOT mod: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/270020/ Anyone tried it? Is there a better way to fly without labels?

Nice! Didn't even know it was doable :surprise:
-
I'd be very curious to see that! ;)

our beloved Pony-will it get even better?
Fifi replied to 9.JG27 DavidRed's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
+1! Same here, and i tried quite some...Only word i had first time: "WOW!" Yes, again same here. And i think mine isn't particulary weak PC... I even can say P51 module is the worst of all the 5 i own in terms of FPS (but fortunately still very playable). It's also the only front propeller plane...couldn't it comes from the prop animation? (flying low on forest and looking straight i have 28 FPS - same in A10C i have at least 38 FPS - OK i could get more if decreasing eye candy, but it's only to tell the difference) Fuel shut off + boost pump off seems to work here, as i belly landed few times without ending in fire ball...in fact was quite pleased of the belly landing effect and damage model. But you're right, there is still room for improvment. I personaly don't like the wing edge flammes as soon as it touch down (but A10C is same). -
That's correct. Only very few engagements were that long. But probably some existed! Nice one (P51 VS BF 109 - no time related): http://www.military.com/video/operations-and-strategy/second-world-war/dogfight-from-wwii/658292587001/

Only "bug" AFAIK is the FFB issue with 1.2.6. Even the TIR stuttering issue was solved few days ago http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=113775&page=24 Everything else is running smooth here.

Also have 8Gb RAM (DDR3 1600) and no SSD ---> loading time < 1 minute. My CPU is I5 @3.2, no programs running in background (except TIR5 and radio menu clickable) aero desabled and AVG desabled for DCS.

That's not really the problem. Now each dogfight i manage to get the FW... without blowing my engine :) Took some practice of course, but i love it. I'm at the point i'll try to see what happens when increasing AI skill... But my request was for to see the AI changing flight manoeuvres essentially. I still believe a novice or fresh German pilot would never fly like the way our average AI flies... At least not on the edge all time. Not even sure an average pilot could fly like what i see...but maybe i'm wrong? Many files can be adjusted in DCS, so was wondering if any .lua or else was existing for AIs :smilewink: Don't know about the FW, but for Mustang and taking into our flight manual account, we have around 10 seconds flying inverted oil starvation free.

...and anyway you always can roll back anytime with the updater, if needed.

Yeah, was very surprised the other day when at the end of track i could take back control! Nice feature!

ED SIMS SCREENSHOT AND VIDEO THREAD!!!! (NO USER MODS OR COMMENT)
Fifi replied to rekoal's topic in Screenshots and Videos
Mustang VS FW :joystick: German pilot surrounded by bullets holes :D Didn't know a tail could burn!... And this is the end my friend... -
You bet! When trying to follow them, it even seems they are sometime trying to push me at fault!...and it works :megalol: Nevertheless, in the waiting of DCS WW2 AIs, i'd like to see them making some mistakes too. Definitely no way of tweaking files?
-
I'm not Kuky :) but assuming yes, you can delete it
-
Have to admit there is a good improvment with your latest fix in autoexec.cfg  Even if i couldn't really noticed this micro stuttering before, things are for sure smoother now :music_whistling:

Yo!! 44Km!!?? The best aircraft spotter of WW1 was without a doubt R.Fonck (known for his awesome sight view), and he could spot planes not further than 8/9Km...
-
Thanks Merlin for reply. In fact wasn't really complaining about AI behavior, even though it looked like :) But was interested in some file to tweak/adjust in DCS folder, so the AI could react more like a human...with more weakness some time... And a novice pilot would never fly like the one we actually have! lol I'm quite sure the AI don't have same physics and plane behavior as our. It's just impossible of what i saw!

Question-How to Load Joystick Profiles
Fifi replied to enigma6584's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
It is strange they didn't notice this column stuff in the DCS manual... They just say we can save current profile by clicking save profile button. -
Yes, but then why P51 has that much wing move when firing rockets?
-
Hi, Just a quick one: - Is there a way to give FW AI an other skill level than ace? (using ME, and settings on medium level, it doesn't make any change in game, still flying like an uber ace, even when damaged)
-
That very good news so! That was always my favorit helicopter ever since i was young in France (maybe with the Huey, but for others reasons) and if this one is made with equal details level as the Huey module (FM included), it's gonna be a blast
-
Waiting too for BOS...but afraid to step back from a Ferrari to a Kia :D Well, will see anyway. Other thing i really hope and looking forward in future DCS WW2 is the advanced AI... ...because actual FW 190 AI is just one ace level :joystick:

I live GMT +11, so it's always hard to manage something with Europe...and my internet connection isn't so good here (not to say quite bad). But thanks for the invite, maybe one day when i'll decide myself to jump in

Ah yes, under 5000ft. So it might be better to use it above, then... But in this dogfight mission, we often fly and end quite low.
