EDIT - Nevermind, I just shut off the engines and got the mission ending dialog. I'm used to hearing the "You have 2 minutes to shut down" type thing..
-
So I rolled back to an earlier install and that got rid of the A-10 colliding with the C-130. The rest of the mission went off fine, but I'm currently stuck at the very end of the mission with no ending verbal score trigger. I was instructed by ATC to land on runway 7 at Kobuleti, as I was rolling out, the instructor advised me to make my next right (which was not the right at the end of the runway, but the one before it) and to park in the first free revetment on my left. So after making the right and then a left, there is one revetment occupied by a tanker and A-10, so I parked in the next one, but I'm not getting any further mission dialog. Any tips for what the trigger is for this? I was excited to have completed this mission (LOL)...so hoping I can get the debrief too... (and I did try the other revetment too)

I'm having a problem with Mission #1 (Day AAR). I flew it a week or so ago and everything went fine, but I screwed up the actual tanking. I wasn't able to get back to trying the mission until this morning (I updated DCS in the interim) and now I'm getting a conflict at the beginning of the mission between the landing C-130 and the departing A-10C flight ahead of me. The A-10s aren't waiting for the C-130 to clear the runway, resulting in a collision (which of course shuts down the airport)... Can anyone confirm? It will only take a few minutes to check because it happens right in the first 5 minutes of the mission.

For the Basic campaign, I chose the beautifully weathered looking DT&E Early Test skin by Heater..slightly modified with a Mudspike logo... https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/84638/ For the Advanced campaign, I'm going to use a custom skin created by our friend Komemiute at Mudspike... -

I regret I didn't hop in the back seat too. The boys were so busy working though I didn't want to delay them for a single minute. I mean, they are working on the module for us...so I knew you'd all flog me for getting in the way! <g>

I had a chance to meet with Nick and his partner up in Hickory yesterday afternoon. It is only about a 45 minute drive from my house. They have two F-14s up there in what is a surprisingly nice aviation museum (LINK). One of their F-14s is on static display outside. Crawling around it is fun and it is just incredible how large the aircraft is. The slabs that make up the elevators are just incredible and the whole thing looks like a maintenance nightmare. The one outside is obviously getting a bit weathered, and there was not access to the cockpit available at that time, so no idea on the state of that cockpit. The cockpit that Nicholas is spending time with is a beautifully restored one..I mean, it looks fantastic. The guy in charge of restoring it was there and he is a super cool dude that travels around the country helping restore all kinds of aircraft. Extremely knowledgeable and interesting - Nick is lucky to have access to such a great cockpit. I tell you - those guys have traveled a long way to get this aircraft done right. It was a shame that North Carolina greeted them with such an awful display of weather yesterday - it absolutely poured rain. Skies have cleared today though, so hopefully they will get an opportunity to get some ideal lighting that they might require. I wish I could have hosted them at my house, but unfortunately I have some relatives taking up residence for two weeks, otherwise I'd have invited them to stay with me. It was a real pleasure meeting them and I can't tell you how nice and genuine Nicholas is. I brought my 7 year old son with me (I mean is there any better reason to play hooky from school than to go sit in an F-14 cockpit??) and it was a great opportunity for him to see some iconic aircraft up close. I did experience the instruction to maintain altitude despite being cleared for the approach. I think I just ignored it and continued down on the ILS. I also flew the mission twice because the first time I was too close to another aircraft on the final approach course which resulted in a go-around on the approach where I was supposed to land. I found that slowing to around 140 way out by the initial approach fix allowed that guy enough time to get down, land, and get out of the way. I noticed in the practice mission that the wind was really blowing more than for the checkride mission. I'm not sure if there is a random weather generator for the missions or if if they are always the same. I didn't have any trouble with the checkride localizer/glideslope though. So I'm not sure what is going on there. -

Hey - glad they sent you a link. I *hope* they held up to changes in the mission editor..and they are very bare bones (I'm a writer, not a mission designer)..but I do hope you enjoy the mix of article and missions. BeachAV8R
