Some footage of the AvioDev C-101EB and C-101CC from our Mudspike review of the module: https://www.mudspike.com/dcs-aviodev-c-101eb-cc/

Thanks! We (Mudspike) kind of pride ourselves on the old-school type, thoughtful and long-ish type review. That isn't to slag on the YouTubers and Twitch guys, but some of us old dudes kind of enjoy having a cup of coffee in the morning and reading something. I think the YouTube type videos are excellent for providing a good look at the experience in motion. With the written word, you can be a bit more deliberate, for better or worse. LOL And thank you for the great missions, they add a lot to the module. I really hope we see some great missions and campaigns come down the pipe for the 101!

I've been waiting over four years for this! :detective: Congrats AvioDev! https://www.mudspike.com/dcs-aviodev-c-101eb-cc/

This little airplane with White Phosphorus rockets would be a fun little FAC in lightly defended airspace. It is maneuverable enough to spoof some IR missiles and does a good job against anti-aircraft guns like the ZSU, but you definitely have to keep the jet moving in three dimensions. My short wish lists for this plane: Flare ejector NVGs SAB-250 Illumination bombs (the rockets are tough to position) Retarded bombs Sea Eagle "mad dog" launch mode or F10 map targeting

Hey great..! I'll check out the Persian Gulf one..!

Most definitely. If I want to become effective, I'm going to need to do some calculations and find some angles, airspeeds, and release altitudes that will work as a baseline. I love the target range you have set up using the 476 Range Targets - super stuff. I don't know if you have NTTR, but I'd love to see that range over near Tonopah (that is my favorite airport to fly from). The grading system and points counting thing is awesome.

Ah..I see you are correct. Clean and low (1,000' MSL) I got the same results! 360 knots / Mach .56 with MPR OFF 400 knots / Mach .61 with MPR ON.. Thanks!

One other question - for the BDU-33 - is ripple interval functioning, because I can't seem to see any difference in the 70 to 200ms settings as far as release intervals? PS - I am absolutely LOVING this module. Spent all day yesterday with it and today..just having an awesome time. (I know it isn't realistic for the module, but man I'd love an autopilot..LOL..when I'm doing testing it really takes a load off..guess I should get a backseater instead!!)

That's interesting. I was doing some tests with the MPR switch out of Tonopah this morning and jotting down some notes and I get a distinct and measurable performance decrease with the MPR switch on. I ran tests at MTOW (maximum takeoff weight) and came up with this: MPR OFF - 0-100 knots = 3,463' MPR ON - 0-100 knots = 4,253' As well, in cruise at 10,000': MPR OFF = 234 knots / Mach .425 MPR ON = 200 knots / Mach .375 I haven't tried it at sea-level on a clean airframe, but it looks like the "overboosting" puts the engine into an area of poorer performance. I tried putting the MPR switch ON and then backing off the throttle a bit so that the instruments were below redline, and the performance crept back up to the nominal values you'd expect with MPR OFF. So I don't know where to find that extra 400 lbs. of thrust. I'll try again at a sea-level airport with clean wings and a smaller fuel load. I could be missing an operational aspect of this mode (?). Just be aware that if you have your speedbrake mapped to a toggle switch (deploy / retract / neutral) that if it is in either the deploy or retract detent, that will keep the trim pegged. From what I read in another thread, that is true to the airplane (?). So for instance, on my HOTAS Warthog, I'm in the old habit of pushing the speedbrake toggle full forward to the STOW position from the A-10C, but leaving it there will cause the trim to run in the C-101. Don't know if that would help you..but thought I'd mention it. :)

Woohoo! I know what I'm doing all day today..! Just finished the excellent full cold and dark tutorial. I really like it for the fact that it doesn't just say: "This is the system, this is how you turn it on." Rather, it shows you where the system is, gives you a bit of background on why it functions like it does, then goes over the reasons you test it and how to test it. Yes, it is a long tutorial, but I feel it is one of the better available because it really does teach you a bit about the airplane instead of just going through the steps. Bravo! BeachAV8R

You've provided some great information in this thread - thanks so much for sharing and the videos and detailed explanations. As a real world air ambulance pilot (King Airs and Citations), I've helped tweak some simulator models before and I think developers and the users can really benefit from added input. With that said, I just bought the Yak a couple days ago and am putting it through its paces. I just wanted to confirm that spins require pro-spin input to maintain (?). I find that I can give it a kick of rudder and full back elevator to get it into the spin, and maintaining back elevator will keep it in the spin with neutral rudder, but all I need to do to recover is basically neutralize the elevator to center and she comes out in very short order (less than a rotation) without having to apply any opposite rudder. Is that pretty legit? I'm loving the module. Been flying it the last couple days in 2D, but going to give it a whirl in VR today. Nothing better to do than watch the hurricane come up through our area (Charlotte, NC - it will be much weaker by then) (poor, poor Panama City..they are gonna take a hit!). Thanks again for all the great information! BeachAV8R

I'm sooooo excited to see this completed. It really is one of my most anticipated modules. I know I'm a cheerleader, but I'm in love with this cockpit and this plane.
-
That looks great. I can't wait to fly the C-101 with the EFM in VR. It is the module I've been really anticipating for a long time. Something about that cockpit just reminds me so much of the old Sperry King Air B200 I used to fly...

Great idea. I'd love to see something like that. I was always addicted to the Maple Flag Missions..and I enjoy the flying part of flying. Sometimes moreso than the combat part of virtual flying.

Campaign Progression Bug in Missions AFT01 to AFT04
BeachAV8R replied to Sabre-TLA's topic in Problems and Bugs
What is the current DCS version we should be using with the AFT campaign? I have an updated install, but might need to roll back to a version that works. I'm going to try 1.5.4.57288 Regards, BeachAV8R -
Iron Flag: 4th of July sortie by Mudspike.com
BeachAV8R replied to baltic_dragon's topic in Community News
My British buddy sends me this on our Independence Day.. (actually, the version he sends me has a distinctly better C word at the end..LOL...) -
Am trying this this morning..but on the first mission I'm getting about 1 FPS - did I set something up wrong or do I just need to way dial back my graphics to get it smooth? EDIT - switched my properties to medium and now getting better FPS. Probably just all the units on the map..can't wait to give it a whirl..!
