  1. I'd say so! congrats!
  2. you're using 430.86? (just to confirm)
  3. Cool brother! great to hear!
  4. Gorgeous!
  5. Interesting... My Motherboard says it has a USB Type C port on the back. Haven't tried that. I've been using the USB3.1. Also, when I used the USB 3.0 via my Inatek PCIe card, my PC would not shutdown. I would attempt to shut it down, and then the system would just boot backup. So then I plugged the Rift S back into the USB3.1, all was normal. I'm going to look at that USB C thingy... probably can't, because I use the GTX1080, and maybe the Type C is associated with the onboard graphics of the MB?
  6. Wow, nice list. ;) I've suffered the periodic white/static flicker. But it's real quick and infrequent. Also, I use a decent set of ear buds for the sound. Early teething bugs, and I'm confident they'll get it sorted out. I've no plans to return it (unless it turns out to be a serious hardware issue). The "S" is much better than my CV1, and I enjoy flying with it. Would I buy again, knowing I'm an early adopter? In a heart beat.
  7. that's where she belongs! ;) curious to hear your follow-up. :pilotfly:

"Suppose you're thinking about a plate of shrimp. Suddenly someone will say, 'Plate' or 'Shrimp' or 'Plate of shrimp,' out of the blue. No explanation and there's no point in looking for one either. It's all part of the cosmic unconsciousness." "You know the way everybody is into weirdness right now? Books in all the supermarkets about the Bermuda Triangle, UFO's, how the Mayans invented television, that kind of thing? Well the way I see it it's exactly the same. There ain't no difference between a flying saucer or a time machine."
  10. Thanks Don, appreciate the data point. You've been all over this!
  11. Not me buddy!;) There's a thread on the Oculus site, mac_man86 put it out there as a suggested fix. Might make sense. Since the USB (red) 3.1 has a higher data throughput, and could be sensitive to the cable length. Which the Rift S has a rather lengthy one. Maybe using the USB (blue) 3.0, (per spec) might help.
  12. Anyone else noticing improvements when using the blue USB 3.0 port, rather than the red USB3.1? (for the static flashes and black screen)? I've had my Rift S plugged into the the red USB port, and have experienced the static flashes. (Maybe once or twice per hour). I'm now trying the USB 3.0 blue port, since the Rift S says to go with USB 3.0. Maybe a thingy with the red USB port?? (higher speeds and cable length?). I've seen some posts about this on other sites.
  13. thanks man, with your rig setup I figured not. Just wanted to confirm.
  14. Just curious, do you use the shader mod as well?
