  1. 1 sorry duplicate mods please remove.
  2. Yes Deadman, I am with you here. The decals we have are for the A10c. I think someone was just doing a bit of free advertising. The spare set of stickers I have are for the Aces 2 A-10c version, not F-16.

    Laser Cutter

This one is slightly cheaper Anton. And there is a step by step PDF for install. Yeah, when you think about it, a 40 watt laser tube takes a whole chunk of cash, so the rest is just mass produced. I have no issue with the outside, it's definitely strong enough, it's the inner I want to delve into. Been 24 hrs and still no reply from customer support so you are onto something here. Take it I'm going to get a rubber ear. http://www.lightobject.com/AWC608-DSP-upgrade-kit-for-DK40-small-CO2-laser-machine-P758.aspx weeb

    Laser Cutter

Not offended in the slightest bro. It's actually sturdier than it looks. If they agree to take some money off for my trouble I will install this: http://www.lightobject.com/X7-DSP-upgrade-kit-for-DK40-small-CO2-laser-machine-P942.aspx
  5. I am building a dedicated flight sim rig to power the cockpit. It will probably have 2X 980's sli'd but i am not purchasing parts and building it until I see what DCS2 and edge bring.

    Laser Cutter

Thanks for the info buddy. I know you get what you pay for, I deliberately bought a cheap one just to see what it was capable of and to learn as I go along. I will probably spend some money either upgrading it or getting a more expensive one in the future. That DSP upgrade kit looks the mutts nuts, good call. I will try your suggestions and see how I get on. Many thanks.
  7. Cheers Hans. Think I will be fine, just nervous spent a lot of money on a telly. I am getting the wood cut as we speak, need to sort out the laser issue. The laser is simple, it works on x,y,z, but I am shit with 3d stuff, i'm going to learn as I develop., are you well?
  8. Cheers m8 appreciate the feedback. it will be 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 metres away once I have the front cockpit so I was hoping. Right bottom line, I have 3 ips monitors, 27 and 24 atm on my home system, cost me like 700 uk pounds when I bought them. my idea is I use the curved screen for total display, saves me buying another 5 monitors, only another 3, = 24 portrait, 27 landscape and 24 portrait. Means I keep my 3 screen for home use and add a 27 and 2 x2 4 in portrait to cover full display ports. both side consoles are covered with realtime switches etc. Does that make sense Sabre?
  9. 79 views, no comments, have i wasted 900 uk pounds
  10. I bought Deadmans last 2 sheets, one for a mate who is no longer with us, so I have a set if anyone wants. Price, same as from Deadman (cost to include postage and paypal fees). PM me.
  11. Well my new laser cutter arrived today. It was superbly packaged but in their infinite wisdom they store the other parts within the machine to make it fit in a rectangle box for courier. Unfortunately it seems with the bashing and bumping a box gets, it has set things out of true. I haven't fired it up yet, I am waiting for the support guys to get back to me. Here is a couple of pics: :(
  12. LOL, that request is as broad as it is long. Look at min specs, they will be fine if you want to fly alone, but add your good lady, one of you has to host it, unless you mean to go into multiplayer right away then things can go south. There is going to be a new graphics engine coming according to wags on Mudspike between march and June which will utilize dx11 I believe, so i would hold off until then, bang together and old amdX64 3.00Ghz, 4gig of ram. (minimum says 6 but you can play on X64 with 4gb, and stick a pcie graphics card you probably have in a drawer somewhere, job done m8. :pilotfly:
  13. Join the club my friend, welcome to the forums. Huge amount of information available and the guys/galls are spot on. Most will be here to help you, but try and do a search on the forums first so that it's not the same old questions. That can earn a rubber ear. You want to fly or build cockpit, head down to the forum headers. We don't bite.
  14. I've been following the monitors v ( HD 3d televisions as monitors ) and decided to bite the brass. I can incorporate it with the pit design which will leave me 5 mini display ports to serve other mini-monitors. I hope I haven't made the wrong decision, only time will tell however. I saw this one on John Lewis £100 off so got it for £899 which I think is a good buy. If it doesn't suit the sim, it will be a good telly in my livingroom, however it may be wider than the window :helpsmilie: Here is the one I have bought, give me any feedback pros or cons, I can take it. http://www.johnlewis.com/samsung-ue55h6800-curved-led-hd-1080p-3d-smart-tv-55-with-freeview/p1781290#login-overlay_show
  15. I am running an i5 3570k at the moment and find no reason to upgrade it until DCS2 comes out. For games that do not require hyper-threading and 8 cores it was and still is a gamer's choice. To me it's superb. Mine runs and 4.4 and if I need to, press a button and it goes to 4.6 if I need it, and has very cool temperatures. H100. I run 3 monitors 5600X1080 on a 7970 with excellent frame rates. I'm not going to get into a spat over new processors and older ones. Does the job, endov.
  16. Cheers for that codetoad. I'm meticulously anal about drawing proof of concept diagrams and getting it all working on developer boards before I start soldering and cutting instrument panels. I can't help it, it's just who I am. Means that once I have it sussed I can post a step by step for others. I am sure there would be more cockpit builders if peeps would just take that jump into the unknown. If you are not going for a 1:1 replica of a pit, it's cheap as chips to grab a pile of components from Asia. As I have found, electronic circuits are not a problem for me, but coding is, it's totally alien to me.
  17. I have the one on the left of ronht's photo, got it before they did the centre mount, so I had to cut it and weld a centre mounting plate to make it suit. Trust me there is no movement on the whole structure, you could use it as a boat anchor. I have a 10cm joystick extension from wasy100 and it transforms it. Value for money even with my mods. 10/10:thumbup:
  18. CMSP Panel Guys Is DCS-Bios capable of displaying the CMSP output data onto a 20X2 transflective STN LCD or will I have to bin it and go with a viewport.? I am trying to do a proof of concept wiring diagram using an arduino mega before I start any soldering. Cheers
  19. Gerry Abbot made an excellent video of setting up Trackir m8.
  20. Cibit Your SSD may come with software that will let you clone your old drive onto the ssd and you don't have to worry about the registry. If not there are many free cloning softwares on the net. Not large programmes to download. On a side note. I always do a fresh install of the o/s get rid of any crap that has been lying around.
  21. Sorry m8, I had not forgotten you, had to bug out for a few days. Will PM you in a bit and see if we can get it sorted. weeb
  22. Make sure you are not running in windows mode if you have the 3 heads set up correctly in softth. It runs in full screen. I have 24 inch left, 27 middle and 24 right, I drop from 5760 to 5600 for bezel compensation. 23. Can you post your softTH config file and let me have a look at it. If everything is working in windows with the 3 monitors in the correct alignment, there is no reason it shouldn't work with softth. Maybe you have the heads in the wrong order in the file. weeb
  24. Might be too late but Cowboy, I have one of them. Great bit of kit, I wasn't aware of the centremount being available so I made my own. I bought a 5mm X 125mm circular lazer cut disc on ebay was about £6.00 uk, drilled necessary holes and welded the 2 lugs on. I will post a pic in a bit, not at sim at moment. It's a well made article, worth every penny m8. weeb
  25. Sorry Dudester, I went off half cocked there. I was referencing the old motherboard. New memory and boards are around the corner with improved pcie lanes etc. As others stated I would sit tight just now and save your money. Until we find out what DCS 2 is all about and it's capabilities, I for one am not looking at a new build till then. New Year, red wine and forums don't seem to go together m8. All the best. weeb
