  3. I can also confirm Presings story. We had quite a few of these ai tk's on our server when ai cap suddenly decides to engage friendlies, even though bandits are 100+km away :) And they are very determined as well, going in with heaters and guns ...

I think overall, Squadrons or wings get deployed as a whole, so I doubt we'll see just two F-15 at a certain front :) But like you said, in one area, MiGs might be deployed with a ratio of 2:1 but in another it might be the opposite... I think mission makers/server owners will take this into account and create fun, interesting and balanced missions so everyone can enjoy it! :thumbup:

  7. People who want realism and only refer to more avionics/systems is missing some very important points. IRL systems are not 100% all the time. Take RWR and IFF in LO. Both these systems are flawless. You never get an wrongly indicated guy on the radar scope. Even at 60nm, you still have perfect IFF. Same goes for RWR which never misses a single signal in it's field of view. These two systems alone kinda screws the realism in LO. What worries me is that when you start adding even more of these flawless systems, you'll end up with some very overmodeled planes which are not simulating RL. Adding DL to the planes isnt really making things more realistic (quite the opposite if used in certain aircraft), only easier to fly and cooperate... When you create mods which tunes down systems, thats when we can start to talk about realism, until then, please dont ;)
  8. Balance is part of the realism. Many talk about balance as if it's only a 50/50 balance. Obviously this is not truly realistic, but neither is a balance of 10/90. Not all feature will be implemented, and so realism will always be compromised. F.e. RWR and IFF in LO completely destroys the realism part as these two systems are way overmodeled. Pilots can determine from 60nm away that the contact is a bandit and this never fails. Same goes for RWR which will give you a very good picture 99% of the time. Completely flawed when compared to reality. And if you're just adding more and more features (which also are flawless), you'll end up with super-duper planes which are very far from realistic as reality includes a lot of failures, limitation and randomness which cant be portrayed well in the Sim The developers have to find the right mix for all the aircraft in order to get a realistically balanced Sim, and by that I dont mean a 50/50 balance ;) Something like this; F-15 should be slightly better than a Su-27 and both of those should be quite a lot better then the Mig etc...
  9. <51>Dedicated GCI Weekend! The 51 PVO will host a GCI weekend on our dedicated server. Everyone is invited to join the fun. Weekend, December 11th-13th We will try our best to provide GCI personal at all times during the weekend, but the official start time is 1800z on Friday. Using the LotATC2 software, controllers will be able to direct flights/aircraft to the battle area and provide increased SA to participating pilots. Everyone who joins our Teamspeak to fly the event will be given a flight callsign and a specific TS channel in order to keep the Communication organized. In order to communicate with the GCI you will need to download these keybinds (link below) and load them into your TS. If you're unsure on how to do this, please ask any of us and we'll help out :) Anyone who doesn't want to fly with GCI support is free to join the server as usual, but we encourage everyone to join as it's much more fun :D Our controllers will be using English and will not provide GCI in any other language.   11. A big part of the mission for the civilian An-124/225 is to carry outsized cargo. The problem with the Airbus is that it cant do this, as it's cargo doors are just too small.

  16. Im having some very annoying problems in MP with my 3rd party skins for the 3GO Su-27 Flanker. I have not replaced the existing skins in the TempTexture or in the actual .cdds (the good old way), but instead I have added them using the Meinit.xml and .skins file which is only possible with the .lom models (Like Su-25T, Walmis F-15, SM A-10 etc etc). The 'extra' skins work very well in Single- and Multiplayer. However, from time to time (Not always), when my comrade and I have selected the same 'extra' skin, only the First Default skin shows up on the them. If someone has selected another default skin, the issue is not present on his a/c, only the a/c with the 'extra' skin have the problem. The problem often occurs when someone reloads into the server. These 'de-syncs' occurs for everyone, not only me. The Skins are installed in the TempTextures and are not present in the .cdds. If anyone knows what to do about this or have at least some idea of what to do, Id appreciate it very much! thanks in advance

    I was not able to reproduce this, and that would hand in hand with the fact that flares and chaff are part of the exported data and not just recorded key presses.

    Indeed. Important to note is that even though your intension is not 'evil' :) you can still cause trouble for other players. Like excessive warping due to bad connection, excessive chaff/flare due to some unknown factor/mod, Accidental modded Lockon etc So it's important to keep your Lockon/connection in good shape for everyones sake...
