  1. Agreed. From what I've read, U.S. Army AH64D's have always been capable of carrying stingers but this has never proven necessary as American gunships haven't operated in contested airspace for a long time.
  2. A Chinook would be nice but as far as I know, there isn't one in development and it would take a massive amount of work. I'd really love an Mi24. That would suit everyone - those wanting a transport helicopter and those wanting a gunship. Kind of like the Huey & Mi8 but far tougher.
  3. Thanks Chlebakus, I'll try landing near those guys.
  4. Hi guys, I'm having trouble getting past this mission. You have to transport a general so he gets an aerial view of a ground attack on a village. Everything progresses smoothly - they ask me to destroy an enemy UAZ which I do and then they say "return to the combat area". Then, after orbitting the village for an eternity, nothing more happens. Some kind of trigger that wasn't set off? I'd appreciate help getting past this one!
  5. Thanks for shedding some light on this. My takeoff seemed clean enough but maybe I was a little too heavy handed on the collective. I'll try a gentler approach and report back it it keeps misbehaving.
  6. Not at the moment unfortunately! Seems to happen pretty randomly!
  7. Lately I've been having problems with the autopilot channels disengaging by themselves, especially during takeoff, making the aircraft uncontrollable. Does anyone have any idea why this could be happening or if I'm doing something wrong? I haven't been flying particularly aggressively. Thanks for the help!
  8. Now that's a good idea. The problem needs an urgent fix - fast jet wingmen are becoming useless and the campaigns are impossible to complete.
  9. I can totally understand some people aren't so happy that it was apparently near completion 4 weeks ago. Perhaps the team are just waiting until the sim is complete. No harm to remind them that some of us are looking forward to it, there's probably little more we can do.
  10. Come on, there's no need to label him a troll. Judging by the A10C and Blackshark manuals, these publications need a huge amount of work. The Mi8 isn't finished yet. Be patient and I'm sure Belsimtek will deliver.
  11. 20 times in 6 minutes sounds really excessive. These weapons take time to reload with (I'd assume) a heavy projectile not to mention battery issues like overheating.
  12. I'd like to see this as well at some point, hopefully it won't be too difficult to model. When it comes to CSAR though, it might be safer to land and pick up a downed pilot rather than hovering in full view trying to winch. I'm holding out for windscreen wiper and cockpit fan functionality first though.
  13. You could also simply remove the E-3 in the mission editor.
  14. Most people won't mind a higher level of difficulty as long as the missions can be completed. Hopefully I'll get a chance to try it during the next few days and report back. Thanks again for editing this one!
  15. Not sure but you might be waiting a little while - they had a flash sale about 2 weeks ago.
  16. I purchased the Mi8 recently and I've just been getting to grips with basic flight. But so far, I've been highly impressed and intimidated by the helicopter in equal measure. I can't imagine someone would have more fun or find more uses for a DCS: Blackhawk module, right? Unless it modelled hellfires of course. Door gunners are going to arrive for the Mi8 at some stage, right?
  17. Great, thanks for your efforts Frostie! Gotta try it out. What kind of stuff did you change?
  18. I really wish they'd fix this problem, wingmen are becoming practically useless unless you're scrambling to defend your airfield.
  19. I tried to cruise at various speeds, both high and low. Even at lower speeds, they were still constantly turning on their afterburners and had to turn back to Mozdok just before the engagement started. I even tried to get them to follow the route on their own, hoping they would conserve fuel but with little luck. Pretty strange...
  20. I found the first few missions of the campaign well made, exciting and achievable. But like you, I'm finding that A-50 take down nigh on impossible. I'm wondering if this is something I'm doing wrong. My wingmen struggle to keep formation with me without turning on their afterburners briefly every 20 seconds or so. Result: When our 4 Su-27s actually turn up to engage the NATO aircraft my wingmen all turn for home with bingo fuel leaving me to face the enemy along. Is there some kind of procedure to get the accompanying Flankers to keep formation without burning all their fuel?
  21. I was referring to the camera jitter in the external view (F2).
  22. I'd also love a solution to this, I really hate the permanent jitter. I have to turn it off manually every time I jump in the cockpit.
  23. Thanks for converting this Winz, looking forward to trying it out.
  24. Thanks for the advice dumgrunt, I'll try copying it to the mission folder.
  25. I don't see the problem - we flew over the Crimea for years with LockOn and it should have been added to DCS World ages ago. And surely it would be one of the easiest solutions for a new map. The current political situation shouldn't change anything, perhaps it just reinforces the fact that the Crimean map was fitting/believable when it came to re-enactment. The war between Georgia and Russia in the simulation's current theater wasn't too long ago either.
