Modernisation of our MiGs has been a good deal for some of our Air Force staff.. lot of bribery there. MiG-29 is too expensive to operate compared with JAS Gripen which is a similar plane class. We lost two of them + 1 pilot some 3 years ago during the low level night training flight.
The question is, can a plane burdened with few MT of fuel and loaded with tons of weapons perform the same acrobatics as in clean "air show" configuration?
When counting massive aerial engagements like Bekaa Valley or Desert Storm 1, how many times the pilots could use the Cobra/high AoA maneuvers and how often the stealthiness would have been of better use? I would choose stealth over the fancy acrobatics, like the speed and zoom of Corsair versus tight turn of Zeke at low speeds.
AIM-9 is the best option for short range and especially to fire at enemy against ground. Radar guided missiles get easily spoofed by the ground reflections and enemy F-poling the missile trajectory.
Somewhere I read the real Sidewinder got 97% hit rate at Falkland war
I solved the problem as Walmis recommended in the F-15 thread.. I d/lded his graphics.cfg and meinit.xml and then the white parts on the model disappeared. Look for the f15_files.rar somewhere over there.
I think F-15 can attack 8 targets simultaneously. Russian fighters can track 10 targets, but they can attack at once only 4 (MiG-31), 1 (MiG-29, Su-27), 2 (MiG-29S, Su-27M). At least the manual says so on page 115.
I had the same problem with exe. I installed the F-15 pack.zip via Loman and it works OK now, even updated itself to newest version  - great job indeed.
