  1. What doesn't outturn an unboosted G-6 with gunpods at 7000m? Not referring to any pilot account here, but just shows how irrelevant they can be. With that said, I will definitely be looking forward to the combat.
  2. Oh, I see. But they're still there.
  3. You can see them on the screenshots, you just have to look really closely. For some reason they're not open on the ground, though.
  4. New, fixed version is out!
  5. Released!
  6. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=168505
  7. If you haven't seen these, they are from way back in March/April, nothing new since then. I imagine the plane being low prio since it's suppose to be the last plane release from the planned "Europe 1944" set. As long as it will not have the headrest, I'm all set to wait.
  8. Semi-related; a lenghty attack on a B-17 by 110 G-2, 20mm mineshells mostly. There doesn't seem to be any return fire, the bomber is even flying solo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6_NLhqjvBI&feature=youtu.be&t=1m57s
  9. Released!
  10. Also, think about how much smaller the target plane is, coming almost straight from behind.
  11. Dora 500658 belonging to KG(J) 27. Released! Thanks to whoever is responsible for the template, and Maler for sharing it! Includes: - Versions with and without swastika - Custom weathering - New custom normal and spec maps - Texture files are now less compressed and higher quality (Minimal to no effect on performance, though higher filesize in return) Installation, !!!#2 is IMPORTANT!!!: #1 Unzip folder to DCSWorld/Bazar/Liveries/FW-190D9 #2 In skin folder, choose from two sub-folders for swastika or clean and copy file to main folder with other files (Skin won't work properly if you miss this step!) #3 In DCS, select "Payload" tab in Mission Planner and select the skin from the Paint Scheme dropmenu below Download: http://www.mediafire.com/download/l1ddabix2a6qnir/Black12.zip http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1026337/ Please report any issues!
  12. The nose definitely gets thrown around when firing, but seems like the vibrating camera exaggerates it. Hopefully the MG151 gunpods. If I remember correctly, it was an available field mod.
  13. This video get posted on every discussion about the 108, but it does show the destructive power quite well. Wouldn't want to be the tailgunner. Posted this before, but here's a Spitfire shot down with Mk 108:
  14. There were, but it stopped a while after the altimeter gave up.
  15. Took her high. Shame the altimeter stopped at 9000m, but judging how she started choking and maintaning altitude was getting extremely hard, it was quite high.
  16. DCS is incredibly bad at CPU utilization, and there is no CPU out there that will run the game butter smooth. EDGE should help with this, though how much, remains to be seen. My rig is an i5-4690k and R9 270 (Radeon 7870) and I usually average around 40 FPS online as well, although peak is 60 (v-sync) Nontheless, a new CPU would probably help getting average framerate up, but even with the latest top-end Intel processor you will drop frames and stay in the low 20's in certain situations. If you can get a good deal on a 9370, then go for it, but it's just a factory overclocked 8350, so if you can find the latter cheaper, get that and overclock it yourself. 6970 is still a decent graphics card for 1080p, and just about what you need for this game at that resolution, although a 7970/280x or a 770 would be a nice upgrade. Only if you were going for 1440p/2160p I'd suggest a 290x/GTX 980. But, in the end, I wouldn't suggest upgrading yet. My rig is better than yours, but my situation is similar. Framedrops to low 10's and jagged gameplay, although averages might be slighty higher. What I suggest is that you wait for EDGE, see how your rig handles it and then pull the trigger on upgrades, if necessary.
  17. There it is! Thanks. Did a quick google to try and find this site earlier, but didn't work out. 30mm mineshell:
  18. Mineshells were made from drawn steel, the thin shell allowed for more explosive. Weight of the projectile was about the same as any modern 30mm HE shell (~350g) although the casing and cartridge were much lighter.
  19. Yeah, I sent it to you via PM.
  20. Muzzle velocity of a mineshell is about 500-540m/s, though the cannon is light, low recoil and fires around 600rpm. It's always some tradeoff.
  21. He is definitely right about saving as ARGB being pointless, though his opinion on compression is debatable. You'll have to ask Nvidia about that.
  22. Yes it does, but are we talking about a texture mod for Skyrim or a single object here? If someone can show me that my skins completely destroy their game performance, I'll gladly offer a more compact option. Until then, I'll only offer the best quality and if you can't "justify" it, there are other peoples work or default skins to use. I didn't even think about this, thank you.
  23. First thing to do is get proper tools: https://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-texture-tools-adobe-photoshop You can use this to save your .PSD file directly as .DDS On compression, DXT5 ARGB with interpolated alpha is a good balance between compression and filesize (I use this for normal and specular maps) but for the best quality 8.8.8.8 32-bit ARGB is the way to go (I recently started using this for the texture files). Definitely try and see what works best for you, although most of the compression methods simply aren't supported in DCS.
  24. Komet is a glider... :music_whistling:
