  1. Good luck! Video of the second successful landing (Dailymotion video, not Youtube): http://dai.ly/x2m0jor Btw., I have no idea how to embed a dailymotion video on this forum. Help much appreciated.
  2. Good flying, Moe! She had to fall sooner or later. :D EDIT: second landing video (Dailymotion):
  3. Btw., guys, that runway's MiG-21 "cherry" was finally popped 2 hours ago by two different pilots within just a few minutes! http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=141879
  4. I've got a Thrustmaster T.16000 and I think it came with software. Honestly, since I had the old Logitech Wingman Extreme I never bothered with software because that one's was so bloody useless for the non-complex stuff I used it for.
  5. I would. If I could trim the bloody thing out! Didn't know about the MiG-15 since I don't have it and haven't read/heard a complaint yet. I admit I'm not the best of pilots, nor do I have the best stick, so the consequence of this feature is exacerbated in my case. I try to either fly in formation or lead and I either have to expend an inordinate amount of attention and patience or the whole things falls apart fast.
  6. Haven't noticed different speeds of roll myself. Seems constant, like a case of bad joystick and it's been there since even before 1.2.15. It's impossible to pre-empt it because it's so sensitive that even the movement of joystick in near-center corrects it. And AFAIK no other jet in DCS has this "feature". Honestly, I would just as well declare it a bug and hope LNS do away with it in future updates. Or "cheat" and give us normal options for left/right trim like in other planes, not just up/down. I don't mind dealing with torque effects from engine in piston aircrafts (for which I rather play IL-2 Cliffs of Dover because in DCS I just don't have the feeling/feel I'm flying a piston plane), but definitely don't want them in jets. There's realism and there's realism...
  7. Well, I did run a search, but sadly no results. Thanks anyway.
  8. That's the path I tried to take as well, without results. I'm not sure which was at fault, this experiment of mine or the fix for the wheels not sinking into the ground I was testing at the same time, but suddenly my 21 would accelerate out of control when I pressed wheel brake and applied rudder to navigate a ground turn (even though I didn't touch the throttle), there was a problem with the thrust - when trying to move out of parking space it would not move until the throttle was at min 70% (while normally 40% is enough to get it moving) and the MiG29 was breaking the sound barrier immediately after taking off and going into a hard turn with the ease as if I was going only 400... This may sound stupid, but what's a macro? English is not my native language, sorry.
  9. John, could you perhaps give me an airbrake that would toggle normally like in FC3 and not retract when I let go of the button? thanks!
  10. Have to play with those settings for a bit because the new custom airbrake command doesn't toggle airbrake, but you have to hold the key/button for the duration you wish it to be extended because when you let the button go, the airbrake will immediately retract.
  11. From what I've seen it just adds new keybindings for joystick you have in the OPTIONS - CONTROLS. You would probably need to use something like Notepad++ to copy the alternate bindings lines into the mig-21/keyboard/default.lua to be able to bind keyboard as well. Mind you, haven't had the chance to test it in game. :)
  12. Thanks, man, much appreciated!
  13. See this solution: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2330388&postcount=9 and http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2333600&postcount=4 example of lua: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2333838&postcount=7 It's a very easy fix, you just need to get Notepad++ (it's free) and edit the entry.lua in "game/mods/aircraft/MIG-21BIS/" In line 82 replace the "entry/01_suspension.lua" with "entry/Hs"
  14. Am I the only one with this problem? Even if my plane has nothing hanging from it and full tanks it will roll to the right in flight. I can correct it with a very tiny (in the almost dead-zone of the stick) nudge of the stick to the left, but can't pre-empt it with constantly keeping the stick in that position. With there sadly being no way to trim it, as trim being only up-down, it's making formation flying a bear. And not that nice, cute bear. ZlYFXCN3cEQ But this one: 6QCE1cA6_ac
  15. to Leatherneck Simulations Would it be possible to merge keybindings for the air-brake? Right now we have two different keys, one for each function, but it's not really practical, especially with their default assignments being much different than in other modules. It would be nice if we had a "toggle" keybinding for the airbrake, like planes from FC3 have - the same key for extending and retracting. It would make life much easier for those of us who do not have a gazillion buttons on the joystick. :) I know this isn't a huge problem, but it's also a very easy one to fix...
  16. Would it be possible to do a tutorial on non-essential systems, like heating-topic - PITOT, de-freezing cockpit, what effect if any has helmet heating and so on? Then the engine cone stuff, management and so on? The guide you get with the game, both the printed and the ingame tutorial, is sadly pretty uninformative on how to start and use the non-essential systems. Also, any tip on how to fly steady? Even with no load my 21 rolls to the right and sadly there is no trim option, only up and down trim. It's pretty annoying, plus it eliminates any close formation flying for me cause if I don't pay attention for even a secon I'll be rolling. Thanks!
  17. That's why the winking smiley... Trust me, I know all too well to avoid using wiki for serious work. Can you believe it, they actually taught us about sources and literature! The horror! Then again, if this right here and now is considered serious work, then we really need to reconsider our priorities and/or views. :P +1
  18. Permanent, connection type. Took literally hours to update to 1.2.12. Then again, at least it's not 56kb/s dialup anymore (shudders from horrible memories). :)
  19. Thanks, mate, extremely much appreciated! :D
  20. Don't be surprised it missed you, in my experience the R77 is the biggest piece of flying scrap metal in this game, of the many that I've fired before finally giving up and sending it to burning hell forever less than 10% have hit their target, even when fired at range less than 10km, some even at 5km (non-maneuvering target, just using countermeasures). I've had an enemy shrug off an entire Mig load of R-77s at short range (not dogfight yet), even when I didn't spam them (poor taxpayers, how much money was simply wasted by those expensive missiles just flying off and not even hitting the enemy...). The 27ER is a much more capable missile in my experience, even though it requires of you keeping a lock. I actually found that on my own, but for realism, immersion and all those nicely lovely things we are flying DCS sake, it would be nice for that light to actually work. :P I haven't been flying as long as most of you guys here, but it's still gotten into my blood to look to my right side whenever I click ECM and expect that blue blinking, ever since that tutorial (have to check if the tutorial still says to check that light warm up).
  21. No, it's not. 230 kb/sec here.
  22. Wait, wasn't the 190 always hailed as the best fighter of that war?
  23. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AS-17_Krypton under "launch platform". :smilewink:
  24. I've been trying to fly online, but I keep getting errors on my two fav servers that I suspect mean they are still running the previous update of the game. Since I sadly don't keep track of these things, can anybody tell me the exact numbers (1.2.12.xxxxxxxx or was it 1.2.11.xxxxx - anyway the version before the December 2 update) that the previous update had? Help much appreciated!
