No Radar warning, no radar guidance, no radar SAMs?
Bulletstop replied to oho's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I have to agree with the realism, I have made several mission with Roland and another Brit sam and yes I did get shot down with no warning, I am assuming I was tagged by the radar. All that meant to me is I need to be a smart lawnmower :). if this is based on the time frame I am thinking early to late 80's it is on par with what I know from my days in the service. I salute you on a very fine sim and please do not change how you are making this. it is fine the way it is. Bullet -
I am having a similar problem and I will tell the steps I go thru prior to landing at the farp and after I take off. Step 1, I empty my mags and I turn off master arm and kill the weapons power. I also set the laser from stndby to off. Step 2, report inb to farp, go thru all landing procedure, lights and gear. Step 3 land at farp, kill engines power completely down to a cold start position. Step 4 after getting the preset for light the p, I turn on the radio's and request re-arm and re-fuel. once complete I ask for permission to light the fires and go thru the complete checklist for start up. Step 5 I arm every thing but the master arm and head to way point for engagement, while in route kill lights and hit master arm. Step 6 set up in position un- cage shival and seek targets. I hit auto turn and moving ground target and select inboard pylons. I have the seeker locked to a target at 5.5 km and have the reticle aligned and no go, no weapons launch. I can shoot manual but auto is a no go. I do have the track and if need to I will upload the track if requested. Symbolagy is correct and I am within weapons range so at this point I have no idea what is wrong. This is also a made mission. Bullet

Fess up! Who else here is having a hard time?
Bulletstop replied to Ramstein's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I find that I am using the American way during the cold war era. I look at my flight plan and decide where I will hover and look for targets, this is usually 8-6 k from my preplanned target area. I find if I take my time I shoot more bad guys and die less, I am not saying I do not die because I do,lol. I hope this helps some one as I cna not so to say run and gun way,lol Bullet -
I find that some times the lock box is to big and I have to resize it by hitting the - Key. If the box is to big I never get the c sign and I can not fire. Bullet

Ok, any other axis that you can set it to, I mean not the throttle levers, only other thing to try. who knows the controller may default which means that throttle means throttle. This seems unlikely to me but I know nothing about ch sticks. Bullet Edit, cool good to have that fixed. have a good night and I am out for sleep. Bullet

Single Hardpoint/Pylon Selection???
Bulletstop replied to Niehorst's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I had fuel and rocket pod, the rocket worked and I drained fuel from the other, so I can say it worked for me. Bullet -
I do not know anything about CH products so i can not comment if it has programing software. I have Saitek and it has a decent software for programming and to me it works as advertised. Hey just out of curiosity, in the controller page, what are the throttles set too, in mine they are pg up and down under the keyboard commands and nothing in the controllers column. I just verified my settings so I am curious. Bullet

and your levers also come up as Joy z, hmm do not know. I have the x52 with peddles and I have had no issues. I wonder if you can you set it up correctly in the software of the controller? I just see 2 joy z's and to my tired mind seem like a conflict. I am probably wrong about it, but that is how I see it. However I need to sleep, good luck. Bullet

Question, why is the rudder set to joy z left throttle? A shot in the dark, remove rudder z and see if that clears the conflict. Bullet Sorry my bad I see joy z is rudder, must stop looking at forums when it is so late, lol Bullet

if you choose to do so, just map the trim button and keep it held until you are done Ramboing, lol If the trim button is pushed it should allow free movement until the button is released. remeber you do not want to fight the control but to actually guide the controls. At least that is how I do it and how I understand the way the trim and auto pilot works. Bullet

I too would like to express my heart felt thanks for such a in dept sim. I have all most 20 hours in cock pit and I feel i am only now getting used to starting, flying and now shooting. I have been looking at the sim since it was announced and to be honest it has not disappointed. I have the Russian version as I could not wait, but on Christmas Eve I will be downloading the English version. I think you have surpassed LongBow 2 and when you release the AH-64 I may have to retire and stay on my pc for day, weeks and months playing it. Seriously thank you for the hard work and I can only say I can not wait for the other modules. Bullet

I use the X52 and Saitek peddles. It works great. Bullet

Hmmm, you updated the software, but did you update the game selection , this sound weird but i had updated software but not the updated game selection. That fixed it for me with the same issue. Bullet

What level of flight mode do you use?
Bulletstop replied to wolfast's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Sim only. It has been a long time since I flown such a finely model Helicopter sim. Bullet -
What are you doing Dave? This is highly irregular...
Bulletstop replied to FlashPan's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I have a question, in the left weapons panel, do you use keep nose pointed and auto track ground. It is the top left button and bottom right button on the weapons panel. The panel where you arm the laser. It helps to keep the nose pointed where the target is. I hope this helps. Bullet -
I have track 3 and clip pro and have not looked back since. In fact I can not believe I how I got along with out it. It is so bad I have since introduced and got 2 of my friends hooked too. Once you learn how to set up the profiles it runs sweet. Even with the lesser model it works great in Falcon AF, IL2 , LOMAC FC, and now BS. I truly love the 6fov, it makes the game so much better. Is there anyone here who only likes Helicopters
Bulletstop replied to rapid's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I used to play Apache, Longbow and Longbow 2. I have been Drooling over this sim since I saw it being announced. I have drove my friends nuts with links to the annoucements. I think for a bit some of them have stopped talking to me,lol. All I can say is thank you for such a emersive game and awesome flight modeling. Bullet -
Sovien, How I understand it, when ever you make movements with the controls you should press the trim key until you are back to a stable flight , or desired flight. I have my trim key mapped to the pinky switch on the X52 and it works well so far. I also find hovering is much easier by pressing and releasing the trim key until I am in a stable hover. Almost like in hover mode with out the hover mode being engaged. I hope this helps. Bullet

I have to say, I could not stand it any more and bought the Russian version. I am loving it also and I will get the english when it comes out. I have a hard time understanding the Abris system tho but at least I can start, fly, shoot and land. Navigating will take some time tho, lol. Bullet

Stupid question, is your windows firewall up? If so it may be the reason as it is stopping it on your pc and it does not care what your router is set at. Just a thought. Bullet
