Will I lose campaign progress with the patch?
Archer7 replied to kontiuka's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I haven't updated yet but these seem to be the current issues with the new patch: Campaign progess disappearing Custom campaigns disappearing Campaigns start with wrong aircraft Mods not working SU-25T training video errors Module manager bugs Dora/Sabre disappearing Multiplayer bugs Update doesn't work Oculus bugs So avoid updating and wait for another update. -
Can Steam modules be activated outside of Steam?
Archer7 replied to Archer7's topic in Payment and Activation
Thanks. -
Your CPU is great, you have no use for more memory and liquid cooling doesn't really make a difference.
-
I know modules es bought on the website can't be activated on Steam any more but... Can modules bought on Steam be activated outside of Steam? I believe I've heard somewhere it's impossible.
-
+1 for the included Hideout mission included in "Missions" and "A-10C".
-
Can Steam products be activated outside of Steam though? I know you can't do it the other way any more. Great price on everything that's 70% off and good price on the Mi too. Too bad ED already just had a ****ing sale where we had to pay more money despite ED getting a bigger slice of the cake when we buy stuff from them directly... Moral of the story: never buy anything DCS unless it's a flash sale or Steam sale. Every day I feel more cheated out of my money for buying ED products.

Independent mouse control would mean it moving in a sphere around some point in the cockpit which might be confusing as all hell though.

... what? I thought all G-sync did was decrease screen tearing which happens when you're displaying more fps than your monitor's Hz. In other words you wouldn't notice any difference at all between a 144 Hz G-sync monitor and a 144 Hz non-G-sync monitor unless you're playing at more than 144 fps that is. Is there something more to the technology I haven’t heard? You say you “enjoy” flying at 40 fps? It’s extremely low considering your 144 Hz monitor!

Yes, the slew stick is very sensitive however can you explain to me how you bind camera control to it? Great idea with the duplicated autopilot buttons... maybe it would be a good place to have the gears up/down? It's another thing I forgot that you don't really have to bind to the HOTAS but is very useful during take-off. I also don't really see the point of the L/G WRN SILENCE button either and suppose it would make a lot more sense having the master caution button there instead. I should probably visualize this in a paint document

Hello, I am curious how users have their Warthog HOTAS set up? I am curious if you have changed any of the default bindings and what you do with the slew click, slider and the joystick Viper-thing on front? Also is it possible to bind the slew to camera control? In my opinion having camera control on the slew nub would be perfect because then it might feel a bit more smooth than on 4/8-way switches, you can use it while using a mouse with your other hand and you can click it to centre the camera again. Finally since you have to use the keyboard for communication anyways I suppose the MIC-switch can be bound to something creative and it apparently has 5 inputs. Any ideas on what to bind there? If you can bind camera control to the slew I would move slewing to there I suppose. :pilotfly: Edit: oh and what ISN'T on the HOTAS by default? Ejection, pedals and wheel brakes come to mind. Anything else that's really handy to have on there?

I believe I voted B-52 but I actually meant B-17... but I believe it's coming anyways so whatever.

Are you sure you paid? You can go through with orders without actually paying in the ED store but I'm not sure if you can access your key until you have paid. Does the key work though? Maybe you've got the key but it doesn't work until a payment has been done. A payment should show up as pending the very moment you make it. Sounds like a support issue: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=124718

Looking at new systems, looking for advice!
Archer7 replied to JG-1_Vogel's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Good system but if possible I would go with a 770, an SSD, no HDD and don't worry about 450W. -
I've been completely unable to pay with a credit card via sage though not via Paypal.

Who wants to buy the F-86 Sabre right now?
Archer7 replied to Visceral Raptor's topic in DCS: F-86F Sabre
Wild speculation is that they only had a certain amount of keys to sell and never said so because they thought no one would be interested in buying the Sabre... or malfunctions. -

Archer7 replied to Visceral Raptor's topic in DCS: F-86F Sabre
ED claim that they are willing to sell us the Sabre at 70% off but they don't... that's the issue. Everyone doesn't have unlimited money. -
No communication from ED or Belsimtek yet.
-
I wish someone would communicate with us...

Who wants to buy the F-86 Sabre right now?
Archer7 replied to Visceral Raptor's topic in DCS: F-86F Sabre
If it comes back in stock in stays in stock I'm buying it... I'd even buy it now if I had to wait for the actual key code to be delivered to me. -
Yes, in Sweden unethical pricing practices can be criminally unethical. We would contact our ombudsman and the company would have all sorts of trouble if they don't comply with the ombudsman’s demands. I specifically remember some electronics store having a massive sale on TVs or something such a while ago and not having near enough TVs to meet the demand... which didn't end well.
-
As I mentioned in the other thread such practices would be criminal in Sweden... flash sales where you can't even meet two hours of demand. Now they've closed the other thread because of democracy.
-
In Sweden ED would be sued all the way out onto the street for their undeniably quite unethical pricing practices. I doubt their flash sales in the middle of ordinary sales are criminally unethical but in Sweden having flash sales when you have absolutely no expectation of meeting demand is. How you can sell out digital products is beyond my understanding… even if they only had a certain amount of keys they could at least allow us to buy the product now and have our keys once they are generated. Offering modules at high costs and often lowering them by as much as 70% shows they have no idea what they are doing business-wise. Because what message does that give us? Not to buy anything at more than $25 unless we want to give them more money than we have to which is effectively a donation, one that not everyone are willing to give. I bought some modules only a two days ago and now the same modules cost $9 less... not a lot but if this happened in Sweden I would definitely contact an ombudsman. I'm also going to be very clear to anyone I meet that they should never ever buy a DCS module outside of flash sales. Isn't this also an insult to WWII backers?

Years when the DCS aircraft first flew/were introduced?
Archer7 replied to Archer7's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Okay. I guess it makes sense that the Su-25T entered service so late since the A-10A after all didn't see combat until 91 despite having first flights in the 70s. -

Archer7 replied to Archer7's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I decided to cut out the prototype flight dates to quell the wording confusion. Any corrections to variant first flight dates much appreciated. Service introduction, first combat and what year the DCS model is based on is also interesting. If you know what exact year the DCS model is based on you can compare and contrast technology between aircrafts without being anachronistic about it. I have a feeling my 1990 Su-25T date may be very wrong as its construction was apparently ordered in the mid-70s but I'm not sure when it actually came into final fruition. -

What I meant is that they are the earliest prototype of the aircraft itself and not the variant... maybe I'll change it.
