Hi all, What computer settings can I adjust to get the best out of the Multi-threaded version of DCS? I'm interested in things like how to allocate cores to DCS and how many for best effect, rather than just making adjustments in DCS video options. Currently running: Ryzen 9 5950X 16 core, 32 thread processor Asus Crosshair VIII Dark Hero 32Gb Viper RAM Radeon RX6700XT 4k screen w. TrackIR Thanks in advance! Goggz

I have a very slow internet connection. It sucks, but that's life... see the attached image. Sometimes I've had to cancel downloading an update before it has completed and I was wondering what happens to the files that have already been downloaded. Do they get deleted or do they get kept? I think it would be nice to have a pause option so that long downloads can be recommenced. Is that possible? Thanks in advance, Goggz

But for real world aviators the convention is wind blowing from a direction, so why not the same for us DCS aviators, some of whom are also real world aviators.

I use a 4k flat screen wiv Trk IR. I like the sharper realism of this resolution. This spotting distance disparity for those of us who like to play at high resolution has been a bug bear for years. There is no doubt that lower than 1440 res players have an unfair advantage in air to air against us high res peeps. While this mod should be applauded for trying to address the issue, it isn't mandatory to use it. Let's face it, why would lower res players give away a "legitimate" advantage? I'd like to see the reverse of this mod being implemented as part of the game core, so it can't be avoided, i.e. make a 4k dot 4x the pixels, 2k dot 2x pixels, etc... My question to ED is this - what are you going to do to address the advantage disparity in a way that is fair to all?

Yeah, happening all the time now. Really, really annoying. I hope you bug fixers at ED can give this a higher priority to mend it ASAP.

By all the time I mean 3-4 times nightly, triggered on the F10 map, not necessarily when using CA. All buttons disappear as described above. I also noticed the main page buttons go missing as well. If you need any other files please lemme know...

Me too! It makes a lot of sense - a bit like the Army method of using descriptives of things (Boot, Leather, Hobnail: marching, for the use of), you can go straight to the category of weapon, then you find the size, the attribute & the number required. Bomb, 2000lb, Mk 84, dropping, for the use of; Bomb, 2000lb, GBU3/V, you get the picture... By the way, when were Bombs, Cluster, Antiarmour designated as Safe For Work? Also, I'd like to see the option to remove all weapon pylons in one click in the Rearm Menu - Rearm> Remove All Pylons as it is very tedious to have to click them all individually in the Mi8.

Weird... everything is back to normal now after factory resetting my AMD software, so we'll never know exactly what actually caused it & why, cos I've not touched those AMD settings for easily over six months. Thanks very, very much for your help though Flappie, it was much appreciated.

That's sad. I fly the Mi8 a lot and am always getting shot down by missiles without any warning. IRL that wouldn't happen... cos it has an IR sensor! On one particular server, you lose credits for losing an airframe, even though there is nothing you can do to prevent it

Sadly, that didn't work Flappie. At first I thought it had, cos I was under a thin, hazy overcast and everything looked normal, but as soon as I got out of that it was back to Armageddon... I've checked DXDiag & append the txt file. THanks for your help! DxDiag.txt

Since the last update (the one that included the Marianas map), I've been seeing these apocalyptic sky colours during daytime. I have done a repair to DCS OpenBeta twice & it has made no difference. I've also deleted the fxo and metashader2 folders from my DCS Saved Games folder with no effect. Can anyone suggest a way to fix this without having to re-install the whole game please. Thanks in advance for you help!

I've just watched a video about the Lockheed AH56 Cheyenne attack helicopter on Curious Droids channel. One of those would be real fun! Faster than an A10 & easier to fly cos of the rigid rotorhead. Hi all, Tried a search on this but nothing came up. The problem is as follows... When I start up DCS multiplayer the screen that lists all the servers on the master server appears normally, but I cannot click on the Connect button with my mouse, nor can I move the flashing text cursor from the password input box. Additionally I cannot Alt-Tab out of DCS MP. The work around I have found is to: a) Ctrl/Alt/Delete and open the Task Manager b) DCS MP screen then somehow grabs control from Task Manager before I can do anything else and I find myself back on the server screen c) my mouse will now work and I can click on the connect button Does this every time I want to connect on starting a new instance of MP via DCS or DCS MP standalone screen. At least it works, but it's a pain in the *ss... Any ideas on sorting it would be gratefully received! I'm running the latest stable build, but this was happening on the previous build as well. Strangely, it did not start doing this immediately on an update... Thx in advance for your help guys & gals! :) Cheers, Goggz

The method described by Kosi Mazaki at the top of this page seems to work as long as you remember to type MIG-21BIS all in capitals :D Thanks everyone who has contributed to sorting this lil issue out !

I'm guessing it ain't a bug, cos it's clear from the video above, that there are skid marks being generated when the wheel oscillates. Nice one Leatherneck, just part of the sim :D
