When I received the heatblur confirmation mail and (immediately after) the code mail, they came from different adresses.

Mattetubben: you should call people out by name when the set (people expressing regret) is so difficult to separate from the subset (people 'blaming LNS'). Otherwise we could end up with a lot of passive aggressive style posts. :) On another topic, I've hijacked a relative's connection and the download is going much faster. Won't have to wait until March to get the Viggen :D

Oh it's coming along just fine! And I've got quality movies in the meanwhile. Btw I'll be on SHC TS once my data subscription kicks in (5th of february) so if you're around we could always fly some!

You know an LNS/Stålenhag collab would've made for some amazing promo art. I'm angry with myself for not thinking of proposing that much earlier.

Even better, RAF winter livery. -
Thanks, ren!! What was the last information we had regarding the theater? I'm god damned dying to get out of Caucasus.

Any thoughts about creating a Recon Viggen ?
scaflight replied to AdurianJ's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
I'd really like a dedicated recon platform simply to enable more mission types, in turn enabling better cooperative gameplay. If a game is confined to fighters, what you get is just WVR/BVR fighting. Having aircraft take on other roles lets us recreate, and take part in, a wider and more dynamic air campaign. Ultimately my dream session for DCS is a sort of cooperative multiplayer, on the scale of Blue Flag, with the dynamics of an F4:AF campaign. Having the aircraft to find a target so that a mission to strike it can be planned, as well as having the aircraft for the following BDA, is in my eyes a natural part of that chain. -
Thanks a lot mate! :smartass:

The new critical angle of attack might be too low!

I was wondering why the Fishbed felt so dramatically different after a few months away from it. :) -

** DCS: AJS-37 WIP Pre-Release Manual Released! **
scaflight replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Serif'd fonts like in the pre-release manual aren't everyone's cup of tea, and I'm among those who much prefer fonts without serifs. I hope the AJS manual will use the same font as the Mig's manual. :) -
** DCS: AJS-37 WIP Pre-Release Manual Released! **

Question about a contingency, parralel runways... from the manual: How do we know a runway 27R from 27L, or even C? How is this solved for McCarran on Nevada? -
There's one in this thread, "Cobra's startup, numbers and areas".

In brief: 1) set data selector to REF/LOLA (LOngitude-LAtitude, always a visual reminder that the coordinate inputs are reverse of what you're used to!) 2) switch to INPUT, 3) type in longitude, 6 digits; the display goes blank 4) type in latitude, 6 digits; the display now flashes between lon/lat to show you what you're submitting to the computer 5) hit the waypoint button of your choice (B-whatever) edit: As ever when finished with input, set AKT POS and switch to OUTPUT. Waypoints for the Rb-15 (Bx) are a bit different. You can also make target and popup waypoints, so all you're asking for can be done using lon/lat while you're on the ramp. You can promote a movement waypoint to a target either directly, or by adding a popup vector to it. That happens with the data selector in TAKT mode, see manual, p. 184f. For waypoints, from the manual, pp. 178-9: editedit: congratulations on the purchase. MUDSPIKE! c;

I'm keeping a few up my sleeve in case I do a similarly themed production, but Mitch Murder's is up there with the very very best of synthwave and eminently suitable for aviation footage. Mille's songs don't have quite as old a synthwave sound (featuring more what I think is dynamic range compression, more use of club-house volume shifts, and cleaner 8bitty sounds that've come into fashion), but I might recommend or . In fact I don't even know if Mille is active anymore.

Your image isn't shared with the public. If you go to imgur.com, you can just drag-drop the picture on the frontpage and it'll upload for you. No stress with ads or such shit. :)

Hahaha that ****ing menu music! Aaa this is great :D Love the way he immerses himself in the manual and does stuff by the books, instead of winging it and just playing according to established practises. Nice to have a systems-oriented take on aircraft.

Cockpit panorama (hastily shoddily put together)
scaflight replied to scaflight's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Glad it's of some help mate. Posted the Fishbed way back, cba to find the post so just linking the images. Clean cockpit Cobra's first startup of the Fishbed. Some steps no longer useful, like 21, setting the fuel quantity manually. Startup, with numbers/arrows. Startup, areas only. -
Didn't exactly mourn his wingman, Wags! So cold... But the video was brilliant :D I loved seeing actual gameplay, using proper tactics, in non-standard weather. A lot of DCS videos can hardly be told apart.
