  1. For the 190 in the Controls menu there is: "VHF_Radio" and "VHF__Radio" (two spaces) headers, same for "Weapon_Systems" and "Weapon__Systems" I don't know if this was intended or mentioned already...
  2. I think a column with general types of targets would be enough. Such as S-8 KOM: Lightly Armored Targets or S-8 OFP: Soft Targets, etc. I don't think surface-to-surface would be necessary but SAM range would be really helpful! I always feel that helpful cheat sheets like this should be sticky'd so they're easy for new players to find. :)
  3. Really like your cheat sheet. one thing you could add that would be helpful is recommended target types for the A-G weapons.
  4. I was messing around with the new Su-27 and I'm not sure how I did this. A few minutes into the track I climb to about 13k (ft or m? whatever is displayed in the replay), then I stall it and go into an inverted free fall and my engines shut down (I think). I was able to turn the nose down, gain airspeed, and the engines auto recovered. The main question is that it seems like I was falling really slowly after I stalled. Did everything happen correctly? :dunno: :joystick: (Hopefully the track works for other people) . High Altitude Stall and Recovery.trk
  5. The point is in DCS you can kill things from further away than 10 nm with an AMRAAM
  6. I like making these polls. :D It's always interesting to see other people's preferences and tactics.
  7. Which one do you prefer for air to air gunnery if given the choice between these sights?
  8. Nice podcast, I don't usually listen to them, but I make exceptions for DCS. Really liked the Mk 82.5 commercial :megalol:
  9. At these sale prices, it's too hard to pass up some of these modules. Now I own the hip.
  10. Thanks for posting this. I didn't know about it, and I always thought there should be a feature like this.
  11. My thoughts exactly.
  12. Lol, yeah too bad you can't take "thank you" 's to the bank :D
  13. Thanks SiThSpAwN, I didn't see that one  (PS: That was a fast response!)
  14. Does anyone have a better answer than "soon" (or "not soon") ;) for when we can expect period units for WWII planes? I assume they would come with the planned Europe period map. I saw something about the progress on that slowing down significantly :(.
  15. I love Belsimtek for their F-86 and F-15, but I hope this problem is one of their top priorities...
  16. That's a good point. A bigger punch definitely helps for bigger planes. I remember loving cannons for shredding bombers in European Air War when I was a kid. :joystick: :D -I also forgot to add to the poll that machine guns usually have a faster velocity than cannons-
  17. Is IFF modeled in any way in the Sabre? If so how does it work? Also after the latest patch, I think I noticed my radar wasn't locking friendly Sabre's, is that the IFF?
  18. Which style of equipped guns do you prefer for "your" aircraft for older, dogfighting only planes? (no missiles) A smaller number of heavier hitting, lower ammo cannons OR more small machine guns with more ammo (Personally, I'm torn between the two)
  19. Sounds good.
  20. Ok, now I get it. The quick start manual made it seem like the gyros could be damaged (from hard maneuvering) if you didn't keep the sight caged until right before you start firing. Thanks for the help!
  21. But you don't need to keep the sight caged at all while dogfighting?
  22. Where can I find the "Repair DCS" executable? I previously deleted the quick icon for it that was in the start menu .
  23. Thanks for the clarification. I guess I'll just have to get used to holding a button down while maneuvering. :joystick:
  24. Electrical Sight Caging working correctly? When you mechanically un-cage the A-4 sight it immediately becomes completely un-caged. Then to electrically cage the sight you must hold down the button for it. Is this the way it is suppose to be? It seems wrong and inconvenient.
