109 control limeter is too high on low speed
IIIJG52_Otto_ replied to greco.bernardi's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
The only thing that you need to do for recover a dive in the current FM, is to move the THS (Trimmable Horizontal Stabilizer) to neutral position, "ZERO" in the gauge. Because the airplane is very tail heavy in this position.. ...a lot of more than the real one Bf-109. Moreover, due to we can fly the aircraft almost trimmed, with THS in FULL nose-down position (+2 degrees in the gauge) we have 8 degrees for trimming in tail-hevy direction (minus -6º in the gauge) ..Any resemblance to a real Bf-109 is a pure coincidence, ..but it is the current FM that we got. By the way, the weight in fuel and MW-50 tanks, did not affecting to that tail heaviest behavior. You can emptiest both tanks in the Mission Editor single flight, and check that the aircraft still flying with tail heavy behabior in ZERO positon. -

By the way @rel4y explained perfectly the trim tab plates influence in dives and stick force here. -

That thing that you have marked in yellow is the Flettner tab (a servo-tab) its moving for counterbalance the rudder forces. That is NOT trim tab plate. -

Basically we are dragging a old bug for years. The elevator neutral trim is broken. It seem, that E.D. devs team, mistaken the trimable horizontal stabilicer setting for cruising at stright and LEVEL flight of the Bf-109K4, with other settings for DIVE or CLIMB in a Bf-109G2/R6 (with 20mm cannons gunpods) used in a old wartime soviet trials report. One of these developer stated that the "real Bf-109" flying at hight speed with the THS (Trimmable Horizontal stabilizer) set at +1.5 degrees, need constant PULLING of the stick, ...but we fly straight and level or PUSHING stick with this THS setting in game. Moreover, we have a special setting page in game, for preflight settings of the controls trim tabs plates of the Bf109k4, and this developer stated that elevator tabs plates ajustement "is blocked" in game intenationatelly. that´s the reason that elevator trim plates do not appear in that special setting page. -
I think that you would must read few threads in the forum prior to start a new one. Such as these; - [CLOSED]Bf-109 Trim controls; (Yo-yo stated that elevator trim tabs "are blocked" in 2015) https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2337285&postcount=58 - Trimming issue? https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=273119 - Bf 109 elevator trim https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=232749 - Center of Gravity: "I keep the full nose down setting at all speeds" https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=206431 - nose down trim to low? https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=177535 - Horizontal Stabilizer; "when "trimming" it fully down, the aircraft still wants to climb" https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=175714 There are a lot of more virtual pilots claiming about this issue, but I want not waste more time searching. I wonder about why a lot of people are claiming for this issue. Anyone wonder this too or only me? :music_whistling:

You are right, .. yesterday I ´ve tested the K4 patch ver. 1.5.457288.170 and the FM remain the same as 2014, more or less. But now, slats works graphically. In the version 2.0.3.56503.102 ( patch 28/sep/16) the K4 automatic slats NO work graphically, and it seems like they no works aerodynamically neither.

I.A.W. this post http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2878359&postcount=31 DCS Bf‐109 K‐4 Module is in release status now. it is seem that there is no changes than previous BETA version, FM remains with the same exaggerated auto-looping tendency hand-off and NO neutral trim, that it was in 2014. Anybody tested the last version DCS 1.5.4.55952.150 Update 4 ?

Now .. We must perform a flight test, for confirmation if it is only a change of numbers, or a true CoG change, with rear tank empty.

DCS: Spitfire Mk LF IXc Discussion
IIIJG52_Otto_ replied to Yo-Yo's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
That's not entirely true, Erich Brunotte says that they used between 0.9 and 1.2ATA in cotinous mode, but full throttle was used in combat, they pushed the throttle and pulled it back, push and pull all the time. Watch the video again minute 12:11 Heinz Knoke in his book "I Flew for the Führer" he says that he escaped with 109 G6 (equiped with MW-50) from P-51 and P-47 with full throttle, spiral steep climb, and neither allied fighters could follow him in this maneuver. Full throttle was used but in short period of time.. -

New monographic book of the Bf-109 by J.C.Mermet
IIIJG52_Otto_ replied to IIIJG52_Otto_'s topic in Military and Aviation
I'll own it, the next Monday, ..with a bit lucky. :smilewink::book: Now i´m reading this one, about the "Escuadrilla Azul" 15 Spaniche Staffel. Spaniard volunteer pilots in the Luftwaffe, very interesting. -
ketelokrestú ..que diría un vasco, .. Manowar, ..los cambios de peso en el editor deberían afectar al FM del avión, no son solo numeros mal. In english please, I understand that is a discrepancy between weight shown in M.E. and the weight modeled in the FM. ..Changes of weight in the M.E. must affect to the weight in the FM. .. right??
-
So ..the weight shown in the ME (Mission Editor) is diferent of the weight modeled in the FM?? This bug is only for the ME (MEsserschmitt) or for all airplanes in DCS??:music_whistling:

Let's go to re-center in the topic. We have a error with weight & balance, ..am I Right? :music_whistling:

109 using only trim, rudder and propeller pitch.
IIIJG52_Otto_ replied to Sporg's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
THS (Trimmable horizontal Stabilizer), can be used as backup control system of the pitch axis, in emergency case even in AIRBUS fleet today, The THS provide the capability of performing an emergency landing, when the main elevator control is INOP, for any causes. But is very difficult perform a perfect landing in this emergency condition. :smartass: The BF-109 was equipped with this THS from 1935. :smilewink: -
Edited for 1.4 violation Please, answer the question, Yes or Not? P.D. Asking questions that incite a reaction for studing a problem is a research methodology. ..That is not trolling. :smilewink:

the weight of the aircraft fuel tanks (full or empty) do not affect the FM? ..are you sure? :music_whistling:
