Stop Complaining guys!!!
IIIJG52_Otto_ replied to Anatoli-Kagari9's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
I'm sure that any customer who performed a claim, are right, but probably many of them have not the correct information of the product that they was buying, and they claim due to misinformation. I know that DCS world is a powerful and a very good simulation environment, but at present day DCS world (ver 1.2.16) have a lot of things that must be improved. And obviously ED not put any love in the DCS:Bf-109K4. or that seems at the moment. "Professional" not mean better quality necessarily. I work with AIRBUS and I update the FMGC database of real aircraft with floppy disks every month, not CD-ROM, or USB, etc. And note that many flight schools use the Microsoft Flight Simulator X in professional simulators (with real instrument panel replica), and all virtual pilots knows that MS FSX is very poor in physics and aerodynamics effects, and there is not damage model. Probably a true and accurate aircombat simulator, as we like, need more quality in graphic and programing than a professional training simulator. See the picture, is not a joke, it is russian-made professional helicopter simulator, for training stacionary flight. It´s possible, ..but he not explained yet why the ZERO mark in the elevator trim indicator, is not "neutral trim" in the Bf-109K4. I never intended, and I never said to be 100% right, but, you always say that Yo-Yo is 100% right...Maybe we are right 50/50, :smilewink: I explained several times that the Bf-109 pitches-up at full throttle and pitches-down when pilot cut the throttle, due to engine torque effect, that is the reason because the Bf-109 real life pilots, take the manifold pressure as reference for trimming the aircraft in cruise. And this is reason because the VVS test that ED are taken as reference for modeling is wrong. The VVS test was performed in climb & combat power 1.3 ATA, not at crusie power, 1 ATA, .Probably the Yo-Yo error is overlook the piches-up TORQUE. at 1.3 ATA. which is stronger than 1 ATA at normal cruise in the BF-109G2. I'm really worried with this issue, because it´s contrary to all literature about bf-109.. :( -

Only the professional, or expert pilots can understand the great importance of trim control in an aircraft. The trim control is correlated with the weight & balance, stability and forces in controls. If you have the trim control wrong, this ruining completely the aircraft behavior, increasing the forces in controls (stick & rudder pedals heavy), increase the aerodynamic drag (surfaces deflected unnecessarily) and decrease a lot the general performance. Please read these two holy pages of the "weight & balance manual"of FAA. http://issuu.com/diegoforero/docs/aicraft_weight_and_balance_handbook/15?e=0 If you are capable to understand these 2 pages, probably you can understand my point, and my worry with this stuff. That is the right thing that they must doing. If the developers not listen our claim, will mean that they choose waste money and ruin their business. One of basic law of quality standard ISO 9000 is the customer feedback. -

Yaw stability means NO corrections or NO control forces in the rudder at cruising speed. You can read the attached "Bf-109 G10 report By Mark Hanna and Eric Brown", page 3 say. "As you climb, you're aware of holding in a little right rudder to keep the ball in the middle, but the foot loads are light, and it's no problem. Level off and power back to 30 inches (1 ATA) and 2,100rpm. The speed has picked up to the 109's cruise of about 400km/h, and now the ball is right in the middle, and no rudder input is necessary." page 4 say: "The rudder is effective and of medium feel up to 500km/h. It becomes heavier above this speed, but regardless, the lack of rudder trim is not a problem for the type of operations we carry out with this airplane". Flying the Bf 109G10 by Mark Hanna.pdf -

I think you are very optimistic :music_whistling: .. if you take account that the actual tendency (DCS:Bf109K4 ver 1.2.16) is crazy nose-up with elevator trim set in zero (neutral) at any speed. This behavior seem a lot with the conclusion of the diving test performed with a Bf-109F (with wing of G series) as you can see in pages 16 and 18 http://www.wwiiaircraftperformance.org/me109/Diving_Test_109F_W.Nr.9228_ger_eng.pdf The Bf-109F in test, have strong tendency to nose-up in dive at full throttle and about 900 km/h TAS, it was eliminated folding the elevator fixed trim tabs. in page 16 say: In reference to tall tail with flettner-tab, ""Unlike the earlier flights with the horn mass balance tail (q.v. flight report Nr. 879/270) the plane was stable at the yaw axis up to the highest speeds."" and in reference to nose-up tendency, and trim .they say. "" Unlike the idle dives, it was not possible to hold the angle of dives at full throttle with the same trim setting, cause the upward torque of the engine. Trim tabs were set to nose heavy to reach a similar force development, like in idle dives "". -
That is false.. and you know it, . .. due to three main reason. 1/- 450km/h IAS, is 600km/h TAS at 6.000 m, and 743Km/h TAS at 10.000 m. in standart atmosphere. Is not a valid data. ..or in that case, the Bf-109K4 was capable to trim at 740Km/h TAS at 10.000m 2/- The Real life Bf-109 pilots take as reference for cruising the manifold pressure indicatión ATA, and engine RPM, ..not the airspeed. 3/- If that interview is true, Where was published that interview??. ..

K4 have more diferences than G2 or G4 everything Kurfurst said... and, .. a more powerful engine. a bigger engine oil tank. a retractable tail wheel a stronger shock absorber in landing gear legs. ailerons.with flettner tabs. avionics, etc. -

No elevator trim tabs adjust?? ...Why?? "Control stiffening for Rudders" .... in rudder with flettner tab?? why ?? -
what do YOU use the flare gun for?
IIIJG52_Otto_ replied to pepto's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
I had tried to use the Bf-109 flare pistol for evading IR missiles ... but not working. IR missile, and SAM´s, don´t follow the flare. :( -
Is there any plane or ship armed with torpedoes in DCS? Is there any intention or plan to create seaplanes, or torpedo bombers for DCS WWII?

Basic things about the Messerschmitt Bf-109
IIIJG52_Otto_ replied to IIIJG52_Otto_'s topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Excuse me, for "my smartass approach":smartass:.. I´m trying to write in the forum in relaxed tone, not as a formal letter. I think everybody do that. Relax your nerves, please. :) Some people and I, are reporting some bug about Bf-109 from the first release of the module, Yo-Yo and Sithspawn, say me "you are wrong", but some time after, we can see some little changes to fixing the bug that we are reporting, and, they were stating that " that is not a bug". Elevator trim,+CoG+unstability; are one of this "cyst" problem, that everybody is commenting as separate things, but they are associated. I think, this video is a evidence of something. In opinion of this test pilot the Bf-109 flight perfectly, Volker Bau says "Perfect handling quality", What the meaning of "Perfect handling quality"? wing drop in tight turn like DCS K4 (today)? tail heavy and unstability? I think that Volker Bau says, is agrees with the commentary of the Bf-109 Finnish ww2 Ace Väinö Pokela who said: "It flew like on rails even when shooting." If everybody here is convinced that DSC:Bf-109K4 today, is "flying like on rails", and with "perfect handling quality" and "instant acceleration". Tell me here and now, and I give up. :pilotfly: -
Basic things about the Messerschmitt Bf-109
IIIJG52_Otto_ replied to IIIJG52_Otto_'s topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Yes it is. The rudder of the Bf-109K4 is a 10 or 15% bigger than this G4, it is 135mm (5.3 inches) taller than Gustav. Bf-109K4 rudder is equipped with Flettner-tab, that is a kind of servo-tab, who minimise the force needed to operate the rudder pedals, improving the rudder handling. -
Basic things about the Messerschmitt Bf-109
IIIJG52_Otto_ replied to IIIJG52_Otto_'s topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
yes of course, He said (in minute 2:43) that the 109, have directional stability problem during take off, "because TREMENDOUS TORQUE and small rudder in size than a Pipper 18". In minute 2:51, He said, "If i'm too fast on the throttle, I will be on the left side of the runway, quick easily." In minute 3:22, He said; "accelerates immediately" Do You feel "immediate acceleration" in DCS:Bf-109K4, (in airspeed, or torque) when you push the throttle quickly?? :music_whistling: Them the basic problem is; Instant acceleration, and BIG TORQUE, no time to correct with rudder. He say nothing about lack of rudder authority in flight. :music_whistling: -
Basic things about the Messerschmitt Bf-109
IIIJG52_Otto_ posted a topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Basic things that everybody who try to fly the Bf-109 should know. ;) Now you can give your opinion on the meaning of the next phrase of Volkar Bau, Chief test pilot of the flugmuseum-Messerschmitt, said in the minute 3:11 : "" The perfect handling quality of this Messerschmitt aircraft, is absolutely great "" It's funny !, .. he does say anything about the airplane "impossible to trim", as Yo-Yo states from the beginning. why? :music_whistling: I'm anxious to listen what Klaus Plasa, and Erich Brunotte had said, about the elevator trim of the Bf-109. ;) -
I´m Sorry, i don´t remember the exactly date when I felt changes in the K4 FM, or behavior. I supposed that something is changed in patch: 1.2.16.42796.8 (August 9th, 2015) or in the last 1.2.16.43180.9 (August 24, 2015) Because, my comrades and I were trying to fly, 3 or 2 weeks ago, in manual pitch control with Bf-109 K4 in multiplayer online server, without success. The result was engine seizure all the time. Officially, there is no "tweaks" in the FM of Bf-109K4 since April this year. :music_whistling: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=140468 the day before yesterday i was fly the K4 about a quarter of hour in manual pitch, and full power without problems. My next challenge is to try to make a Cuban Eight, with the bf-109, and with manual pitch control like real Bf-109G2 said in this book. They do it in the airshows. :joystick: The Bf-109G2 "black-6" is the last and only, Me-109 original German built (No Buchon fuselage), in airworthy conditions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlUTFi3cN00

Dear Friends: I tried to fly the Bf-109K4 with manual pitch control in DCS, many, many times. The result was always the same, a few seconds of flight engine seizure. Curiously! .. that is changed yesterday, after patch 1.2.16.431180.9 Now, I can fly the Bf-109K4, in DCS in manual pitch control perfectly. I congratulate E.D. team and Yo-Yo, to improve FM, and behavior of the Bf-109K4. Now it seems a little more to what books, chronicles of the pilots say. :book:
-
Why you surprised for mentioning that he flew 109 using manual prop??. You didn't know that the Bf-109 is capable to fly in manual prop. mode?' :music_whistling: Yo-Yo, Where is that second interview to Mr. Erich Brunotte? Do you have uploaded the video? I'm anxious for watch the video of that interview, and listening Mr.Brunotte say something new, that we are unknowing about the Bf-109. ;)
-
Maverick Su-35S, I think it's time for Yo-Yo explaining you why these russian chart are make with 1.3 ATA, 2600RPM. That's not cruising power for Bf-109G2. That is climb and combat power for a G2.
-
...in fact the plane is turning slightly, until the pilot apply brakes.
-
You are wrong!! No need push full rudder pedal for apply the toe brakes. you never seated in the cockpit of any real airplane with toe brakes? ..please try it before write this silly things.
-
You mean with the engine at full power, or at idle? .. At what wind speed?:music_whistling: You can see in the minute 1:50 of this video, a Bf109G10 with the same rudder area than DCS Bf-109K4, is steering the plane withrudder in taxi, with engine at idle. If the rudder is unable to steering the plane on ground like you say....why they do use it during the taxi?? I think that all RL Bf-109 have more rudder authority, with propwash and with wind speed over 30 or 40km/h, than DCS 109K4 today. P.D. The rudder area of Bf-109K4 is bigger than the Bf-109G2 of the test performed by VVS that you are taking for reference for modeling the K4. at least 135 mm taller. And it was equipped with "Flettner tab" a kind of servo-tab capable of lightened the pilot strength in the pedals. :book:
