  1. ok so yesterday my master mode selector button just stopped working, like it isn't a software issue the button won't click when pressed. my guess is that whatever causes the "click" and creates an input from the button being pressed is out of place, but when i opened up the top i was unable to take apart the button housing (picture included of what im talking about) any ideas on what to do??
  2. i'm no expert but i doubt it, the Su-27 is so unstable because of it's reversed aerodynamic center and center of gravity, which is something MiG doesn't have
  3. this looks really good! but im wondering which is closer to the original? i've seen all black F-86 cockpits but is the F-86F Bl-30's default "sterile white" cockpit surface more accurate historically?
  4. im sorry but this is one of the funniest glitches i've seen in a game
  5. i actually read in a manual for earlier F-15s that the A-B models would stay put, but at full mil power the C-D will creep forward even with the brakes on
  6. can't wait to see what you've got coming for us, best of luck!
  7. sorry if i was a little vague, by cutscenes i meant more or less before and after the mission, all the action happening real time via scripting is what would make dcs unique in it's open-endedness
  8. so im sure this has been brought up before and i would be surprised if it hasn't at least once, but what if we got a full on champaign? and no i don't mean a VERY brief backstory of who's fighting who and all that, and then an hour+ long point A to point B mission. no, what i mean is a legit cinematic champaign with cutscenes and everything. i mean seriously i can really appreciate the work already put into the campaigns and i don't doubt the size of something like this, but the single player just seems so lacking. i want to know who i am, i want to know why im fighting, i want actual characters. and honestly it would be pretty revolutionary in my opinion, not just for flight sims but for games in general. considering how much of a MASSIVE world the sim takes place in, it would be very interesting to have a true single player cinematic experience coupled with a vast open world where you can do just about anything that is within your ability. i also think this would be a great opportunity to pit other countries against each other. i mean truthfully the whole america vs russia because communism is EVIL and must be STOPPED and america is the patron saint defender of CAPITALISM and DEMOCRACY is reeeaaally getting stale. and i know it would probably be hard not to center it on russia/america because, well, they're like two of the strongest air powers in the world currently. but let's mix it up! what if we made america and russia allies? what if we made a common enemy? im sure there's a TON more to get out of a two different nations come together to take down a much greater threat to the world type scenario than there is with the typical america punches democracy into the faces of the evil commie witches :P but anywho i'll start to wrap it up here, in the end i would definitely pay good money, maybe even 30$+ for a storymode with a rich and detailed progressive story that comes with cutscenes, a good backstory, and actual characters with personalities, feel free to leave your thoughts bellow!
  9. i apologize in advanced if this has been covered before, but probably my biggest complaint about the warthog (which is still an amazing stick) is that the throttle switches only serve as single-action (ie you can bind a command to a switch being flipped up but not down). since the A-10C module supports it, is there some editing i have to do in the lua files? it would be really nice seeings as it would open a load of opportunities and save a lot of space in terms of switches to bind. let's say for example i want to bind a switch to my landing gear in the su-27 so that when i flick it up my gear goes up, and when i flick it down my gear goes down, how would i do that and make it apply to other modules and other binding commands?
  10. so how similar/different are the two? they both seem to have the general idea of the wing root glove, does the mig have a reversed aerodynamic center and center of gravity like the flanker?
  11. that makes sense, thanks for the reply. also probably a slightly off topic question, was the strike eagle an upgrade to the F-15C or is it simply a semi-dedicated air to ground variant? im asking because the strike eagle has a much more modern cockpit with the MFDs and HUD layout, although it is to my understanding that they were used directly alongside F-15Cs
  12. after reading some manuals of the F-15C i noticed that it does have some decent air to ground functionality, even being able to drop guided weapons which made me wonder why eagle in DCS doesn't have anything for air to ground? yes it is mainly an air superiority figher but so is the flanker and that has a rather decent air to ground selection of rockets, bombs, missiles, and canon readily available in the sim (reference link here)
  13. so i just shot up a 190 and i paused so i could go to third person to inspect the damage and i guess the pilot was busy trying to remember if he left the stove on while bailing out i mean just LOOK at this ice cold SOB he doesn't care that he just got shot to swiss cheese he just wants to watch the clouds and to top everything off i guess his rudder and busted elevators decided to take a break from being attached to the plane maybe see the world and do things for themselves instead of just being part of a plane well lemme tell ya i bet those elevators and rudder are going places godspeed to them
  14. this feels so surreal, it's something we've all been hoping for for so long and now it's being made right now :D
  15. sadly i find that "a little neglected" is a pretty big understatement, i mean it doesn't even have it's own subsection in the FC3 part of the forum :(
  16. ah, my ranting was a bit pre-mature, i actually found that using the software, i can make keys press-and-release which solves ghost buttons while adding a very minimal amount of time to button holding :D also my original idea was to map all the necessary switches and buttons on the stick/throttle and map those to certain buttons, ie numpad 5 can be radar pulse-receiver cycle for the flanker and RWS/TWS for the eagle :smartass:
  17. it seems like your solution is the most logical seeing as i have absolutely no interest in windows 10, but then again i'm VERY reluctant to use the saitek software, because, and excuse my ranting, honestly 3 profiles?? that's it?? that's just ridiculous like yeah cool i can program 3 modules how is that helpful in a sim like dcs where all the modules vary all across the board from different time periods and countries and uses, even the FC3 planes like the eagle and flanker require unique tuning in terms of radar and such it's absolutely absurd (PS if this is not how the software works then i apologize for making myself look like an ass in public :P)
  18. this must be it as i am running windows 8.1, thank you for bringing this to light, i'll try and see what i can do!
  19. some of you might remember my post about the ch pro products or the x55 and i gotta say i wasn't too thrilled with the idea of waiting for lord knows how long for the ch pro throttle to come back into stock i got myself the x55 instead, and now i'm honestly starting to regret it a bit. the ghost presses on the throttle are absolutely crippling, i cannot even begin to tell you how many times i've had my landing gear ripped off in high speed flight because of it, canopies jettisoned, engines shut down, ect. i don't have teamspeak so that problem goes out the window, i tried plugging it into a USB 3.0 port that works fine with my stick but that doesn't work either. i noticed it is especially terrible with the FC3 aircraft, the F-15 is the least flyable of all, and i don't exaggerate when i say that, i have manipulated the throttle in the controls page and from going full back to the forward position i had about 3 ghost presses. i am running out of options as i spent all my money on a new setup and this issue is just pushing me further away from wanting to fly in any sims :joystick::helpsmilie:
  20. yes i actually mapped that and my autopilot to two buttons on my hotas, although the autopilot would literally throw itself out of its own jurisdiction, so i couldn't tell if the flanker was acting off of the autopilot or not
  21. ah well, i guess the most i can do is ask around and see if anyone else has had the same problem
  22. is there a way to go back and find older tracks?
  23. yesterday i was trying to navigate waypoints but accidently switched to return mode which threw off the autopilot, and when i went back to the normal nav mode it went berserk and started tossing my poor flanker around while trying to get back to the waypoint course literally to the point that it stalled me out while i was being thrashed around like fish on land (and of course there's always the horrid rocking back and forth that we all know and love :P)
