Shown in HUD during Weapons mode; There is Actually a vertical scale on the left side of HUD that displays current airspeed(if you are moving). The right side is a vertical scale (if you are under 50m) that is RALT, and a small scale bottom right for climb/descent rate. Reaper6

Yep got you on there. Reaper6

Yes, all are welcome to join. The ABRIS training will basically be starting over from the beginning. Not sure everyone wants to sit for an hour and listen how to exclude satellites or test GNSS. Reaper6

Lol, +1 for you :)

I agree! more over, you really can't compare a helicopter with a tail rotor vs Coaxial Rotors... Two completely different beasts. Reaper6
-
The simplest way is to just change coordinates in ABRIS to decimal. Then any coordinates you get, will be easily entered into the PVI. Reaper6
-
the PVI uses lat/long decimal, The last two digits are averaged. The 1 represents which waypoint/point Reaper6

Well, I guess for starters the Igla-1V is not modeled in the game! As for mounting a Igla on the Ka50, it is in the Weapons database(It's just not named "Igla"). I'm actually not sure what you mean by the statement "big shitty Vikhr", considering it's faster and has a longer range than the hellfire! And I am no expert on the hellfire missile, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't have the ability for a proximity fuse. And not to mention there is no counter measure for the Vikhr, unless you see it coming and you can maneuver quick enough to get out of its way. Reaper6
-
Also... Is it possible to change my original heading from Igla-1v to "A post about totally unrelated topics"? Reaper6

Wow, I actually thought maybe the ABRIS map was more detailed in RL. It looks exactly the same. Well don't change a thing then... Reaper6

You need to have both engines off and blades have stopped fully before repair begins. reaper6

That's why you stay near cities... Kind of hard to penetrate building with Radar :) Reaper6

That would be a really hard question to answer, unless there is an actual Ka50 pilot that flies in DCS. But I would assume it would be as close to RL as possible, the coaxial rotor blades provide an inherently stable platform as well as more power/maneuverability compared to airframes that use a tail rotor. And that is why I will enjoy taking down the AH-1(when/if DCS comes out with the module). Any other Helicopter(including AH-64) will never have the maneuverability/climb rate that the Ka50 has. Climb rate especially being vital in going head to head(Ka50 v. AH-1/64), whoever gets above the other first, will surely win! Reaper6

I'm just wondering if anyone else is experiencing problems in mission editor when you save and then try to fly the mission thru ME? It doesn't happen all the time, but often. I add an object(vehicle/ship/aircraft/static etc) then click the save icon. The icon highlights blue(and stays that way), then when I hit the fly mission icon it will bring up the window asking me to save/discard/cancel. I then hit the save and it sticks on the screen directly after that. I have left it for almost an hour and it doesn't do anything. I then have to alt+tab hit close and go back into dcs. It will have a window asking me if I want to quit. I click yes and it completely exits out of DCS. Any thoughts? I will take screenshots next time it happens to better explain, it doesn't matter if you add just one vehicle or 50. Reaper6

Well I am "happy" to have the ABRIS, it is very useful at least for me. I'm happy to use Vikhrs for A2A, considering there is no countermeasure for them other than maneuvering(and even then you have to see them being launched). Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Ka50 is the only airframe in DCS that has LWR? Reaper6

ED definitely needs to update the ABRIS map! I'm wondering how hard it would be to transfer the MAP on the A10 to the Ka50 ABRIS? Reaper6

I have read a majority of the posts of whether or not the Ka50 can carry AtoA missiles. And not to beat a dead horse, but there seems to be a lot of vigorous debates of whether or not the Ka50(production model) can carry these weapons. So I spent hours and hours researching both sides of the debate. I'm sure ED will never implement this feature in the Ka50. Which is fine considering I have no problems knocking both helicopters and fixed wing out of the sky with Vikhrs. However, what I have found in my research is.... There is a missile produced especially for Russian Attack Helicopters. And it is the Igla-1V, mounted on Mi24, Mi28, Mi35, Mi8, Ka50, and Ka52. The mounting point is here: I'm not trying to start a huge debate, but just to put it out there that it was not just "one" model of the Ka50 that was a test bed. This missile was specifically designed and produced for Combat helicopters. And... your thoughts? Reaper6

If you want to sit on the Tarmac for 45 minutes...
Reaper6 replied to Reaper6's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I actually only fly the Ka50, so I'm not really sure. I would assume they would show up no matter what aircraft you're in. I will have to do some editing and see if I can get them to show up only in the Ka50. Reaper6 -

Not sure why these didn't show on the updated post. But here is the remaining graphics for your kneeboard folder. Reaper6
