  1. I actually thought everyone new this. It is not so weird you have to set up your controls first right. That also means axis controls.
  2. Depends on your flightstick. I fly without curves.
  3. What includes an advanced radar model? What are the differences? Should it be named like the EFM?
  4. An enhanced variant of the AS 37, designated the Armat (Anti Radiation MArTel), was developed in the early eighties, and deployed with the French Air Force in 1984, subsequently exported to Egypt, Kuwait and Iraq. The missile was reputedly used during the Iran-Iraq war to destroy Iranian radar sites, fired from the Mirage F.1 . The Armat shares its basic airframe and propulsion with the AS 37 Martel. The Armat is a heavyweight among ARMs, weighting in at 1200 lb / round, with a 331 lb high explosive warhead, and with a fuselage length of 13.5 ft and diameter of 15.7 in. The large airframe accommodates a Hotchkiss-Brandt/SNPE Basile solid propellant boost stage with a 2.4 second burn, and an SNPE Cassandre solid propellant sustainer with a 22 second burn. The missile has a quoted range for a high altitude launch of about 50 NM. Compared with the AS 37, the Armat has a significantly improved passive homing seeker designed in the early eighties by Dassault Electronique. The microprocessor based seeker will home on to a programmed emitter, be it a radar or a jammer, and uses inertial midcourse guidance. With its high launch weight, heavyweight warhead and long range, the Armat is primarily an offensive strategic ARM designed to destroy Early Warning and Ground Control Intercept radars. This is where it differs fundamentally from the HARM and the ALARM, which are built to also perform as defensive ARMs carried as part of a mixed weapon load. As the missile is 50% heavier than the HARM, and twice the weight of the ALARM, it is unlikely to compete successfully against these newer missiles. http://www.ausairpower.net/alarm-armat.html ARMAT was a private development using an improved, wideband ESD seeker. The French government and Air Force weren`t quite worried about exporting MArtel/ARMAT and the export missile, while having the wideband receiver, seems to have had degraded capabilities. French missiles were upgraded in the late 1980s using the ARMAT technology to a wideband homing head. With the retirement of the Mirage IIIE, Jaguar became the sole platform. Jaguar EW equipment was quite poor, so Martel missions required a lot of work as shown during its sole use in combat by the AdA against Lybia. It was retired in the late 1990s due to age, costs and suspected reliability.
  5. This is what wiki has to say (which i know is not always a good source of information): The ARMAT was operational since 1984. It was used as main, if not exclusive anti-radar weapon by French aviation, employed by SEPECAT Jaguars against Libyans during Operation Epervier. The ARMAT was developed from the AS37 Martel in 1984. The missile stayed in service until 1999. The french airforce does not have any antiradar missiles in the inventory after that. The ARMAT is also called the AS37 by the way. AS37 ARMAT is the improved version of the AS37 Martel.
  6. You can program wind correction in the CDU right? Doesn't it also calculate the drift on the parachutes and correct the drop position for it? I don't personally know If it also calculates parachute drift and how to do it. I think I saw it in some YouTube video but then for mk82 bombs and not cbu-105
  7. Lonewolf registration Team: Blue Nickname: Fixen Aircraft: Mainly F-15C, might sometimes go KA-50 or SU-25T or on a really rare occasion A-10C.
  8. Official start is 11 september i suppose, instead of 11 august?
  9. If it requires different hardware then on the real mirage 2000C i would say don't model the Exocet and ARMAT. But... If it is just a software update in the aircraft so it can recognise it's stores and give the search and fire commands to the missiles, I don't see a problem modeling it. You can always disable the missiles in the mission editor.
  10. I am really looking forward to shooting armat and exocet. Finally a fast mover with sead ability and a anti ship missile.
  11. It must be one of the things said in the last 2 pages of this thread. Otherwise I really have no idea.
  12. Why would a a10 lase targets for a mirage. More logical would be a JTAC lasing.
  13. It is probably possible to kick someone out of his aircraft the moment he fires in a certain zone. It is the same on the acrobatics server, but then with speeding (condition) on the taxiway (area). You might also be able to immediately make a weapon vanish after launching in a certain zone. How? I have no idea.
  14. It is used as a assembly aircraft for making formations. All bombers would see the aircraft and form up on it. After the formation was completed it would land again.
  15. Yes and the prices are still to high and the right models are not out yet.
  16. When in a head on engagement use high prf as mentioned. Also note that the ET has a lot more trouble tracking head on then when you are on the 6 of an enemy. Especially when the bandit cuts power and emits less heat.
  17. No, i wouldnt go for broadwell yet. You could go Z87 if that is cheaper and better fits your budget. Personally i wouldn't. But it depends on your budget ofcourse.
  18. The thermal paste between the chip and its shell is worse on the 4670k and therefor will run hotter and overclock less than the 4690k. Difference between z97 and z87 is that z97 has sata express and m.2 slots. But most important, it can seat the upcomming broadwell chips.
  19. Where do you live that a i5 4690k goes for 281 euro's. I can find them for 250 easy where I live. Edit: If you want to overclock you need to get a motherboard with a z97 chip
  20. Do you mean i should test that as well? Because I am fine with 60 average FPS on the ground. I took high settings because i wanted to show the OP that having an average FPS of 30 is not normal for a GTX970. Edit: Done the test with no TSSAA, MSAA down to 4X and lowered the tree and clutter sliders to 3/4 of the bar. This time there where no other helicopters flying around me on the virtual acrobatics server, but i feel the impact of that is not that big. The numbers: Frames: 4330 - Time: 48734ms - Avg: 88.850 - Min: 78 - Max: 111 So that is quite a lot higher. I have to see for my self if those settings might be worth it comparing picture quality.
  21. I was planning to go to bed (3AM :s), but I just had to do a quick test with the fraps benchmarker. So I joined the virtual acrobatics server. On the ground in a UH-1H with another huey flying VERY close to me and on the background some other helicopters (MI-8, KA-50, UH-1H) i got the following results. I was looking around in the cockpit and outside the whole time: Frames: 2526 - Time: 41704ms - Avg: 60.570 - Min: 38 - Max: 96. Same settings as on the screenshot in the previous post.
  22. Allright, so i have done some testing. I am a bit late, sorry for that, I was very busy. First my option screen: I don't have solid numbers (yet), just me looking at the fps. I tested my fps online in various aircraft on the ground (UH-1H, Mig-21, F-15C, etc) and in the air flying the instant mission F-15C intercept (had to do it with keybord and mouse because i reinstalled my pc). FPS on the ground varied between 40-90+ FPS. The 40 FPS only sporadically occured in a weird camera angle (I couldn't find FPS dropping below 40). I would say average FPS was around 55-60. FPS in the air varied between 50-90+ FPS. The average was higher than on the ground. I will do some proper testing when i reinstalled all the drivers for my gear, with high low and average FPS. PC Specs: Intel i5 4690K (still at stock clock speed, I will also try overclocked once i have the time for it) Asus Maximus Ranger VII Corsair vengence 8GB ram Gigabyte GTX970 G1 Gaming Monitor: Benq XL2410T 1080P 120Hz
  23. Going to be tomorrow. Have to go to a party and drink beer tonight ;)
  24. I have heard this before, but find the low fps very strange. Without exagerating, my gigabyte GTX 970 runs dcs with 90 fps without trafic and around 60 or higher online. Ill check again because it has been a while since I last checked numbers. But your fps is way to low. Do note that dcs is very cpu heavy and that might be the reason your fps is low. I don't have a very powerfull cpu either though. It is a 4690k. I will probably go online and check my fps in a few hours. If I do Ill post it here (flying and on the ground fps).
  25. What are your hardware specs? Did you ever experience freezes before in other applications? How long does it take for the freeze to happen? Is it random? How long did you wait when it froze? I have had freezes in DCS aswell, but i also got them outside of DCS. It had to do with my SSD shutting down because of some energy efficiency setting.
