The 8800 cand will be sweet. and planning for SLI in the future is a good idea. AMDs are just as good as intel and if the AMD is less, dont be afraid to go with it. What's your budget? if you want, you can try to use as much as you can from your ond computer in yor new one if you chose to build one. (that's what I'm doing) If you are building a computer, Check out newegg. it's one of the best places to find waht your looking for. Hope this helped. EDIT: Do you want to see my list of compnents to possibly get you started?

Sorry, just my 2 cents

May I make one sugestion about the CPU? Unless you want to stick with intel for some reason, I would suggest AMD. tpycally, you can get better prices on faster CPUs with them. just my 2 cents...

VFAT??....nah, something else

Hmm. that sounds a little ambitious, but mayby we could all submit tracks or movies of us proforming the aerobatics to a website. People could then download them from that site. Just my 2 cents, maybe I'm missing your point completely. -

Trouble getting TrackIR 4 to respond in-game

No, The TrackIR bug is fixed in 1.12b I believe. -
a message in lomac 1.12b asking administrator rights
Aeroscout replied to pablo222's topic in Bugs and Problems
right click on the lockon icon, go to properties. click on the compatability Tab, then check the "Run in XP SP2' and the "run as administrator" boxes. Vista sucks. you only have administrative rights if you tell the OS that you want to use them. It's realy dumb. Hope that helps. I may be wrong. I'm saying this from memory as I don't have vista my self. -
looking to purchase online but dont think I will.
Aeroscout replied to Husko's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Yes CD is good. You may also want to try amazon.com. they usually have good prices too. Flaming Cliffs there is only about $20 or so. -

Aeroscout replied to SuperKungFu's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Very nice! I thought the Flanker with the russian knights skin infront of the moon was form lo-mac when i first saw it a while back! I was mistaken. -
Nice, i'v seen them. I have a power point of this airshow if any one wants it.

Who wants a PIT BUILDERS forum here?
Aeroscout replied to m0unta1n6uy's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
yes, i'm consitering one my self with the arival of a new rig, so a designated place to go for help would be nice. -
Ok, I didn't answer that. In lockon, you cannot manually enter waypts. (this will be avalable in the Ka-50 when/if BS comes out) You only have the ones interes into the nav computer that you had in the mission editor. It's possible that this may be added to the A-10 in BS, bit I doubt it. ED really doesn't care about american aircraft.
-
They are different aircraft, so they have different HUDs. that's not to say I believe lockon's A-10 HUD is entirely accurate. I'v compared it to a few examples in a few books I have and foud it to be quite different. So, what were they like in the book, actually, it seemed alot les sophisticated than the one in lomac, so i'd say, be happy with what you have.

Who wants a PIT BUILDERS forum here?
Aeroscout replied to m0unta1n6uy's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I don't think just a sticky will do it justice. I believe a new section, like the tech discussion forum, would be nice. There are do many questions people will have about pits that i dont think one thread will be enough IMO. Sorry, just my 2 cents. -
Thanks Talon I just tried it out in online combat. I didn't do so well,(which is usual) but the rubber bands definitally give it a better, more realistic feal. A very good, cheep mod for those X52 users who don't want to go out and by an X52Pro.
-
Yes, and it will hardly cost you any thing. Materials required: 4 rubber bands and a X-52 (obviously) I dont know if any one has tried this yet, so sorry if this is a repost, but I was tired if the loose, easy to move feel of the X52 and wanted to make it a bit "stiffer." I then got the Insperation to place rubber bands over the black disk that the spring presses up against. They are arranged an an X, 2 going horisontally and two vertically over the disk. (one rubber band has to go between the 2nd and 3rd toggle switches) and it does definitally stiffen the stick up. it doesn't look prety, but you dont really look at your stick durring flight, do you? Sorry guys, no pics right now. i'll get them in a day or two BTW, make sure the rubber bands are as close as they can be to the spring in the middle of the disk. They tend to slip off other wise. :joystick:

I dont believe the AS-10 is an official SEAD platform at all. Is it?

If you install version 1.12b, i think it does not have starforce. or maybe it just looks different. And when you say unlimited installs, do you mean it can be installed on multipal computers? If thats the case, no, it cannot. sorry. EDIT: never mind. it still is starforce. just looks different. sorry PythonOne

Very nice! want to go fly the hog right now. (maybe i will...)
-
I think he means the localizer and glideslope bars. (ILS bars) And yes, you can select the carrier for landing even though you're not in the Su-33. I did this once in the MiG-29 by accident, but i never flew to it an tried landing on it with the ILS and such. I dont know if this would happen by pressing 1. oh, and a dumb question. What version or lockon are you flying?
-
If you cant see them and your searching high and low, switch your radar mode with the RWin+I keys. the ILV mode is selected as default. HI is next, then MED. use HI for targets heading at you and MED for targets heading away. This technique has saved me on several occations online.
