OMG. Just when I didn't think I could be any more hyped for this - we get this incredible trailer. OUTSTANDING work GA!!! WOW!
-
Since he does custom, could he possibly fab a plate for my steering wheel? Foxxmounts sound like the way to go!
-
Which ones for the Cougar? Monstertech, J-Pein? Something else? The J-Pein looks like it might be the more stable since the vise contact is larger than the Monstertech - but the monstertech clamp looks like it would hold tighter than the simple screw-down of the J-Pein. Appreciate your input! Cheaper options also appreciated. :D lol

Ha! That's the exact video I watched to check mine. :) I just ordered a new hall sensor pot for the throttle from Vipergear - website said he had one left in stock, so I hope mine will ship out sometime this week. I'll go do that calibration right now - thank you for your help! EDIT: Is there anything important about that yellow wire in the video that connects to the screw by the pot pins? Is it a ground wire or something?
-
I think it's a pot problem as I manually twist the prong of the sensor and it's not budging - well, it slowly went down to 35% now instead of 48%, but isn't recognizing anything else atm.
-
I pulled out the sensor on the throttle to see if there was anything that didn't check on it. I'm also noticing I'm missing a wire? In another teardown vid, the screw near the 4-pin connector for the pot for the throttle has a yellow wire connected to it - I don't seem to see this wire anywhere.
-
So I've just purchased a Cougar and the stick works great, as well as all the buttons (afaik) on the throttle but the actual throttle slider isn't working. When I launch the analyzer, it's stuck at 48% or something and moving it forwards/backwards doesn't change the values. If I open the throttle up, what should I be looking for? EDIT: Also, the Antenna Elevation calibration seems off as when I center it in the detent, it registers as 45% on the analyzer. Same with the Man Rng/Uncage, centered in the detent gives a reading of 62%.

Anyone play at 3440x1440?
CybrSlydr replied to CybrSlydr's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Well, I was going to get a new monitor and was undecided between a 34" UWQHD or whatever and a 32" QHD or whatever. I ended up going with the 32" 2560x1440, so it's kind of a moot point now. I flew the Mirage for a little bit and after initial loading, it ran flawlessly. -
Just curious if anyone plays at that resolution and what graphics card you use to run it. I've got an 8700k with a 1080.
-
I absolutely adored that movie as a kid. It's what made me fall in love with the F16 and want to join the Air Force and be a pilot.
-
Check it out! I don't have the Gazelle, but I do have the Mirage and it is my favorite module thus far. The plane is just an absolute joy to fly.

Simpit for DCS and racing
CybrSlydr replied to CybrSlydr's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks guys. :) Appreciate the input. As far as the Ozone or Rev work - do you like your purchases? Do you wish you'd gone with something else instead? -
I was hoping you folks could suggest something. I'm looking at the Obutto atm since it can double duty and function as a workstation. My gaming PC is als9 my main PC. Anyone have experience with the Evolution or something similar?
-
Well, that would take care of the stick portion - what about the throttle?
-
There are a surprising number of options, I just wish the options fit what I was looking for. lol EDIT: What about a Gladiator base with the MCG Pro grip? Is that a doable combination?

Does the FCC3 mod for the Cougar enable twist-rudder control? "FCC3 FORCE CONTROLLED COUGAR 3 The FCC-3 is the follow up of the FCC2, a force controlled modification for the Thrustmaster Hotas Cougar. Force Controlled means that the amount of movement of the plain in the sim is no longer dependant of the displacement of the stick, but becomes dependant of the amount of force that is applied to the stick. The amount of force, necessary to give full yaw or rudder is adjustable with the axis settings in Foxy and CCP."
-
Nice to see it's a bit more affordable than I originally thought - though I think I'd rather have a Cougar (since I never got the chance to get one when I was younger). Too bad they're next to impossible to find and apparently need work to keep going after all these years.
-
Yikes - seriously?? The Warthog combo is $500 and pedals another $150ish.
-
I'm very much interested in this. Video shows it has yaw control! :D Wonder what the price will be?...
-
I drive a 6-speed manual, so utilizing my feet in conjunction with my hands and the like is not something I'm unfamiliar with. :) It really is a space issue - I'm also deciding if I want to save up for a pit that I can use for both racing and simming - and it'd solve the desk/space issue. Too bad the damn things are so expensive.
-
It's mostly a space issue. I have Corsair SP2500 2.1 speakers. https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Gaming-Headsets/Gaming-Audio-Series%E2%84%A2-SP2500-High-power-2-1-PC-Speaker-System/p/CA-SP211NA The computer desk is against a wall and the sub takes up all the space beneath my desk. So there's nowhere for me to put rudder pedals.
-
So, I've also made a post in the PC hardware section about a HOTAS, but I figured I'd talk to you folks here as well since you probably didn't see the other one. In that thread, someone suggested a 160000M with a Virpil throttle to obtain my twist rudder desire. Is there a way to mod a Cougar to have the twist axis? Appreciate your folks help!
-
Can a Cougar HOTAS be modded to include twist rudder functionality?
