    AIM-120D

What more would you need, in a DCS manner, than speed, range? Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

    AIM-120D

My understanding is that the F-16 we are simming represents an F-16 circa 2007ish. If that is the case, will the F-16 be receiving the AIM-120D in future updates? http://www.deagel.com/Defensive-Weapons/AIM-120D-AMRAAM_a001164006.aspx "On 15 September 2006, Raytheon received a $113 million contract from the US Air Force for the supply of 12 AIM-120D AMRAAM Air Vehicles Instrumented (AAVIs), 50 AIM-120D Captive Air Training Missile, 104 AIM-120C7 AMRAAM Air Vehicles, and 112 Non-Developmental Item, Airborne Instrumentation Units (NDI-AIUs). The contract also provided funds for the AIM-120D production transition with AIM-120D deliveries beginning December 2007 through January 2009. This contract was part of the AIM-120 Lot 20 order and the first production contract for the AIM-120D missile." (bolding is mine) If I'm reading that correctly, the 120D started production in December 2007 - would that put it within the acceptable timeframe for usage in-game with the F-16 we have? https://www.navy.mil/navydata/fact_display.asp?cid=2200&tid=100&ct=2 "Joint procurement of the AMRAAM continues with the AIM-120D version starting in fiscal 2006, which features improved navigation, kinematics, lethality and hardware and software updates to enhance its electronic protection capabilities against more capable threats." 3. Appears it's just a need to trim when you have an asymmetric load. Is there a feature to auto-trim this?
  4. Here's the track. I did an asymmetrical load out just to see if this is what I should expect to see. Taking off, you can see the immediate right-hand roll. You can continue to see the perpetual right-hand roll. I thought the plane would auto-trim for load balancing. trim test.trk
  5. So I've been playing the F-16 in mission builder to familiarize myself with controls and how to make everything work. Something I've noticed is that after I drop bombs, I'm having to re-trim the aircraft. This can also happen after just flying around. Now, I have a Cougar HOTAS, so my first thought was that the pots on the stick were finally giving up the ghost. But I wanted to post here to see if anyone else has experienced this. Saving me the cost of buying new sensors would be nice. I'll go in-game and run a mission to upload the track here.

  7. When you reply, down below the text box are the "Additional Options" Click "Manage Attachments" - find the track you saved and attach it to the forum that way.
  8. I'm enjoying it thus far - and I've only been using it in the mission builder to practice.
  9. Bingo! The INV is the button I was looking for. I'm not sure if I missed it or if it failed to render that time for whatever reason. I just tried this out - and the INV button is the one I needed. Thanks folks!
  10. I think you folks are mis-understanding what I'm saying. (I have the F-16 module, btw) I'm not bagging on ED for the current state of the F-16 - we all knew it was Early Access and what that means. I don't have a problem with the current state of the F-16 and am currently playing around with it in the mission builder, trying to figure out my control mappings and all that. When I said a "not complete-enough product yet" I meant I was wondering if there weren't as many "in-action" vids out there because those content creators found what is currently available with the F-16 too limiting. That once ED brings more weapons systems and other things online with the module that we'll start seeing more creators using it in their vids.
  11. Thanks folks - I wasn't able to replicate it last night. I'll give it another go tonight - if not, I'll just chalk it up to my ignorance and stupidity.
  12. No, I didn't do anything with the selective or emergency jettison buttons. I certainly did press other MFD buttons - I hit the A-G master mode button, the A-G stores page popped up like expected. I then changed that MFD screen to something else (just seeing what other MFD pages were available) and couldn't get the original A-G stores page back, even if I entered A-A master mode (though the A-A stores page would display properly) and then re-entered A-G master mode. When I get home tonight, I'll try and re-create it. Though from what you're saying it sounds like I unintentionally replaced the page with something else.
  13. Last night I decided to load up the Viper and try some GBUs out. However, in my unfamiliarity with the MFDs, I managed to "lose" a page. When you hit the A-G master mode button, the right MFD pops up with what I call the "stores" page. It's where you can select CCIP, CCRP, etc as well as displays what current ground store is selected and cycles through available ground stores. I started pushing buttons and somehow I "lost" that page and couldn't get it to show up again. It wasn't one of the MFD buttons, it didn't come back when I hit the A-G master mode button again, etc. Whatever pages I had selected when I got out of the A-G master mode were saved, so it wouldn't reset when I hit the button. This is not the SMS page as that one I can find and display no problem - this is a different page. The only way I got it back was to restart the mission. Is this a bug, known or unknown? Or am I doing something obviously incorrect?
  14. Are these the correct button mappings to the stick IRL?
  15. What I was searching was DCS F-16 - I wasn't really interested in "first impression" or tutorial vids (I've already watched most of them - lol) - I was hoping to see people using them in missions or online server play, etc. Something like or
  16. Been looking on YouTube for vids of people flying the F-16 and there aren't very many. Not even the Grim Reapers are using it much. At this point I'm hoping that's simply because it's not a complete-enough product yet. No Mavericks, HARMs, etc. Thoughts?
  17. Now that I have a functioning HOTAS, I'm trying to re-familiarize myself with the A-10C using the training missions. Problem is that I have no idea what buttons the training guy is talking about - "Coolie hat" "boat switch" etc. Is there a document or profile that details what exactly those switches are so I can try and ID some similar ones on my Cougar?
  18. HELL YEAH MOFOS!!! Uninstalled then reinstalled the drivers for the HOTAS and... I HAVE THROTTLE SLIDER NOW!!!! :D Thank you all for your help - THANK YOU!!!
  19. HOT DAMN!!! Appears that the problem with the sensor was that I have a 3v board instead of a 5v. I soldered a wire to jump the resistor and BAM - now the throttle axis is working! Only problem is the calibration isn't giving me full range of motion with the throttle. lol
  20. I do not, no. Hopefully it's this simple and all I need is to short the part. Gonna need to buy some wire and a soldering iron.
  21. This is the only pic I currently have of the board in the throttle - it doesn't look like there's a resistor where the 3v resistor is. I should be able to see it near the corner of the black pin connector that goes to the stick, shouldn't I? However, my board doesn't have the plethora of circular marks on it like the one in the picture on the link you provided.
  22. That is an outstanding idea - I hadn't thought of that. The serial on the throttle is in the 4000s, so I figured it was manufactured late enough to not have that issue.
  23. Ok. This is weird. I just put the old pot back in the throttle? Throttle axis still doesn't register, BUT, the rotaries are fine now! They work and calibrate perfectly now. wtf is going on with this stick???
