  1. Hi folks! I gotta admit, this F-16C module they're working on has me more excited for DCS in a long time. I was an avid Falcon 4.0 pilot back in the day, back when the Cougar HOTAS came out. I had a huuuuuuge desire for one of those but never got one - mostly due to the cost. Now we have this module coming out and I want to get a HOTAS. Here's the problem. I don't like rudder pedals. lol If I did, I'd probably save up for the Warthog HOTAS and get some pedals, but I've grown to love the twist rudder. It's so much more convenient and takes up a lot less space. To that end, it looks like my only real option is the Logitech X56 HOTAS. The few reviews I can find about it say that it's lacking in build quality - and I want something that's durable. So, do you folks know of any boutique builders of HOTAS or something similar that has a rotational axis built in? Any input is helpful! :joystick:
  2. Sounds to me like you're talking about a Star Citizen-type "pledge" to fund development. It would depend upon what ED were developing.
  3. Been playing the Mirage some more and it's only solidified that it's my favorite module. It's relatively simple, has a good A/A loadout and decent A/G loadout, manuverable, powerful and fast, and it's a sexy looking plane!
  4. Thank you!
  5. Pretty straight-forward - thanks!
  6. Always amazes me how ingenious people are at solving problems. :D
  7. I wish this forum had the ability to like posts. lol Nice vid, rusky!
  8. My bad - they're spoken in English, but it sounded to me like the person is a native French speaker who also speaks English. In English, but they have a French accent.
  9. That's fine with me - as great as this 2000c module is, I'd gladly pay for a -5 module! I've still got the F-14 and F-16 to look forward to as well. :D
  10. Due to my inability to control myself during the holiday sale, I picked up the Mirage 2000. I was originally debating between either it or the F5E module. I adore the F5 but I was worried I would be disappointed by it being too old-school with its avionics. I was right. lol So I ended up purchasing the Mirage as well and WOW! This is a great plane! I think it's exactly what I was looking for - small, fast, maneuverable and able to do AA or AG. I think the performance, compared to the F5, is what really surprised me. This plane is QUICK! Currently trying to get all the bits figured out through the tutorials (nice job getting someone who speaks French to do the voiceovers - gives it that much more authenticity IMHO), but I'm really enjoying it! As I hear the -5 update is in the works, I'm very much looking forward to that!
  11. I've been known to collect things like that too. lol
  12. The Viggen and F14 are the two I want next.
  13. And when that F16 comes out, I'll be getting that too. Lol
  14. Just goes to prove that I can't be trusted with money. Because of the sale, I've purchased: F/A-18C F-5E Mirage 2000C I really need to learn some self-control. lol
  15. I'm excited to try out the JSOW. That was fun to use in Falcon 4. This F-16 is a must-buy for me - my all-time favorite aircraft!
  16. So far I am enjoying it.
  17. I had that thought when I was trying to do it - I was confused as to why it was sucking me down when it should have been harder to go down due to GE. So that's a known engine bug then? Saves me the time of going to the bug forum and reporting it! :)
  18. Oh wow - you can get that low in the Viggen?? That's impressive! I thought 40ft was pretty good! lol
  19. Decided to see for myself in a training mission (10 MK82 Snakeye, 2 AIM120C, 2 AIM9x) over the ocean (level terrain). Best I got was around 50-60ft. Anything below that and the plane just naturally starts pitching down and the RALT won't engage. Anyone else gotten lower?
  20. Wondering if these kinds of munitions are in the pipe for the future, such as the BLU-107 or others?
  21. I agree with you - I think it's AA capability is far less than it's AG. It has two 20mm cannons and two missiles. You can't engage BVR, your radar is of limited usefulness... However, in the AG role you can carry 5x 500lb centerline, 2x 1000lb bombs on pylons and 2x rocket pods with 7 rockets each.
  22. Ain't that the truth! I'm a fan of low-level/high-speed bomb runs: takes out some of the guesswork as you just drop when you're close and hope it works. lol
  23. I'm with you though - I would LOVE to have a Tornado module with Terrain Following Radar. Set it to 100ft, get some retarded bombs and just blast over a target at 500kts at night. Wheeeeeeeeee!!! (Especially if they could implement the JP223 for airbase strikes. After the F-16, I think the Tornado would be my #2 want.
  24. Played around with it last night doing some ground attack. Man, you forget how nice CCIP/CCRP are until you fly this plane. Has a pretty respectable A/G loadout - but I still wish it had two more missiles. Taken plenty of damage flying it so far - had a couple engines go out and blew a few tires landing thus far. And it's just a dead-gorgeous plane - always loved the lines of the F5.
  25. My thoughts exactly - I thoroughly enjoy their DCS vids. Their vids are actually what got me to get back into DCS. I'd have not bought the Hornet if it weren't for their vids.
