Yes, it is. It's only that way because the ANG disabled it to reduce maintenance. It's still perfectly able to do so. If in an actual conflict, the capability would be easily restored - and what do we simulate in DCS? Still get 3 mavericks though. Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk

Just wait until you hear why they removed the ability to launch from 4/6... Absolutely ludicrous.

Anyone else notice that the fuel flow at constant altitude will creep on the Viper? I have a Cougar HOTAS and have upgraded the throttle to hall sensors and they work great. But if I set the throttle while on AP, the fuel flow rate will creep up or down even though the altitude is constant. Is this accurate or do I have something I need to troubleshoot?

AFAIK, the power settings are where I left them at full. Besides, moving the page file and adjusting the graphical settings fixed my issues on framerates.

What are the most important bits for the A-10 for a Cougar HOTAS? Thankfully the stick is the same, so I easily assigned the CMS/DMS/TMS switches, but I currently use the radio switch on the throttle for my radar cursor. What else do I need to figure out an assignment for for the A-10?

At this point, I don't know. Lol Apparently I saw something that doesn't exist in the game. Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk

Big JDAMs. 2000lbs of precision annihilation . My 84s too. I'm not a fan of AA and Mavericks are too fiddly - not to mention only being able to use the TGP with way points is a major annoyance for me. LGBs requiring a constant laser is also an annoyance. Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk

Glad I'm not the only one who has no idea what radar I thought I saw. Lol Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk

I've looked through the radars and I can't find anything that looks like what I thought I was shooting at. It looked like this I thought:

No, long thick metal legs and it was short. I'm at work, so I'll check in a bit. Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk

I'm honestly unsure. It was a big rectangle with 4 legs spread out wide. I believe Liberation classified it as an EWR. Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk

Thanks for the tips folks - but like I said, I followed it in in F6 mode and watched the bomblets explode right on the radar site. They just had 0 effect. Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk

That's good to know. I don't play MP or have the system to really do VR. Wanted to upgrade with AMD and a 3080 this year but we all know how that market is. I'm probably going to wait until the next iterations of CPUs and GPUs come out and hope for better supply. Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk

Well, I went and found a DCS graphics optimization post on another forum and now have great frames. I also have a non-TI 1080 w/an 8700k. My RAM is also really slow, just 2400. Game even looks better too! So I think I can postpone the RAM upgrade for now. I also moved my pagefile off my old HDD and put it on my nvme drive - that REALLY helped (I was really confused why my HDD was getting accessed so much and at high loads causing serious performance issues). So looking at this, it looks like 16GB of RAM isn't quite enough for DCS at 1440p. This is while running a Liberation mission in the Viper. Every 2-3 seconds there's a slight performance dip. It slows down for about 2sec and then goes back to running smoothly. This is constant so far. Thinking of upgrading to 32GB.

Currently the 105 isn't supported in Liberation - it's not listed as available on the loadout screen, but the JSOW is. 87 and 97 are available though. TBF, I haven't tried the ground crew to load them though. EDIT: Yeah, the 105s are available via the ground crew, but not the loadout menu in the Liberation generator.

So at this point, not really worth it to utilize the JSOW.

I'm running a Liberation on the Caucuses map and been using the Viper exclusively. One mission was a DEAD to take out a radar installation. Default loadout was 2xJSOWs. I changed it to 4, just so I'd have more options for targets of opportunity. So I initially set up to deploy two in line-abreast with 500ft spacing. Using the pre-planned mode, I launched at just under max range. I then turned around and awaited the notification the target was destroyed - no such luck. So I turned around and fired my last two at it (it's just a single big radar on the outskirts of a town). RTB after those two as I figured they were shot down or something - but I followed them in in F6. Turns out that the spacing was too far and the JSOWs were detonating on either side of it, leaving it untouched. So, I decided to replay the mission and went with just the default 2xJSOWs. I launched one at it around max range via pre-planned and fired one shortly after in vis mode with the TGP so I could make sure there wasn't an issue with the waypoint placement and I was 100% on target. Both detonated perfectly above the target and the cluster munitions were right were they should have been. But they did 0 damage to the radar. Is this a bug or is a JSOW really not suited for taking out a single radar installation?

I haven't checked his thread in quite a while.

What all out there is there to upgrade the internals for this thing? I've got a pretty standard Cougar, but have installed the Vipergear MLU for the throttle. What kind of gimbal upgrades are out there aside from the FSSB R3 (for that price, I'd just wait for Winwing to... someday... come out with their F16 hotas). I believe @rel4y may have some microsticks? Is the TUSBA something needed if I'm keeping the stick? Anything else I should know about to get this thing working tip-top?

Appreciate your input. Trying to find a HOTAS that's worth the money and in stock is a lot harder than I'd like. Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk

The Orion HOTAS is back in stock for $499 USD - what are folks thoughts on this setup?
