  1. Are there any community gurus I could contact that might know what's going on? Do I need a new PCB in the stick? Is it the pots in the throttle (doubtful since I just bought a new one and replaced the original)? What's left that I can do?
  2. Well, I just went and re-installed the drivers and everything and I'm still not getting throttle actuation. It's stuck on 135 when I do the calibration.
  3. Ok - the only thing that really stood out to me is there's a brown 5-pin connector that looks like a wire is missing? However, given that the ground wire is also attached to that loop, I'm guessing that pin is being blocked so the ground can tie into the stick. The wire clearly looks cut to me.
  4. Here's the PCB - couldn't get it out b/c of the plugs. Anything look amiss?
  5. Thanks for the video - I went and checked my calibration vs the analyzer and my readings are a bit different than yours. For instance, the z-axis (throttle slider) doesn't change it's output values. The rotaries don't give an output until about 1/3 of the way from zero to the middle detent and then stop outputting once you get about 1/3 from the maximum. All of the buttons are registering presses as well. With the microstick, it's giving some small outputs on calibration and the press is registering. I guess it's time to open up the stick and see what's going on in there.
  6. Just checked - can confirm that the 24-pin connector is connected correctly. Still not working.
  7. Not sure what I was expecting from Thrustmaster, but the response I got from them was less than helpful.
  8. Which plug? The red or green circled one? I'm assuming the red.
  9. The problem with the throttle is that all of the buttons work, but the rotaries and the actual slider for the throttle aren't registering or working. Here's the thread - https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=245999 I've already replaced the throttle pot with a HALL sensor - didn't fix it. Nobody so far has much of an idea as to what could be wrong or how to fix it. I do have an e-mail in with Thrustmaster support - we'll see if they have any suggestions. I even offered to ship it to them and see if they could fix it at my expense. I'd much rather fix it myself though.

  11. What all options are out there? There's the A-10 throttle, the Virpil throttle... Any others?
  12. The Cougar stick is working just fine. I'd really prefer to fix the throttle, but finding info about it and/or how to fix it is not working out. What throttles on the market could I purchase that would work with it?
  13. I'm using thrustmaster softwsre. Get this. I use the analyzer and those rotaries only register about 50% motion. Apparently they work but not completely. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  14. Could a mod move this to the appreciation thread? Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  15. I dunno if this helps, but all of the buttons seem to work - such as the dogfight and speedbrake, but none of the axis buttons on the joystick work. The man range rotor doesn't work, the antenna rotor doesn't work, the rdr cursor joystick doesn't work either. Does this sound indicative of something you've come across before?
  16. Thanks Rudel for your help - I've still not managed to figure out what's wrong with the throttle slider. The pins in the plug as well as the base of the stick seem fine - none are bent, nothings clogged... My stick even has the "Do not open - warranty void if seal broken" sticker on it. Anyone else have any ideas? Can I still e-mail Thrustmaster and see if they have any suggestions for what may be wrong?
  17. Thank You, ED A long, long time ago, I wanted to be an Air Force pilot. The F-16 was my favorite, favorite aircraft. I'd watch Iron Eagle (only to realize how horrible it was years later - lol) and Star Wars on the weekends. Just something about the Falcon... Fast forward to the release of That-4.0-Sim. I was in hog-heaven! Aside from all the bugs, of course. lol I spent countless hours playing my favorite aircraft in that sim. So many great memories flying with people online, the communities (F4Community, Frugals World, Netwings, etc)... A true golden-age for me. Then I got to shadow an ANG pilot. Even got to fly in the simulator (imagine his surprise when I know where buttons are and how to pretty much fly it already and waxed 3 fighters and greased the landing :D )! Then I applied for an ROTC scholarship - didn't get it, but went AFROTC anyway. I wanted to be a pilot!!! But, I wasn't ready for school and, despite getting perfect grades in ROTC, I didn't stay in school. Eventually I went the Army route and almost 10 years later, we see ED release an F-16. I cannot thank you enough - I've been flying around with it, just messing, but oh boy is this bringing back the memories! It's almost like riding a bike - I haven't messed with the tutorials yet, but I'm remembering how things work and blowing things up first-run. I cannot thank you enough, ED - you've let me relive a bit of my childhood and reminded me of some of the best years of my life. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!
  18. Here are some images of it all installed. Everything look ok?
  19. Looking through the throttle handle, I don't see a ground wire at all. Was this removed in later iterations or something?
  20. I got the new sensor from ViperGear and installed it. Did not fix the problem. Moving the throttle forward/backwards is not registering in the manual calibration or in the analyzer. What is my next step?
  21. Beautiful - I even have the F-18, so I can practice with it. Thank you!
  22. I've been reading around but I'm not quite at the level of understanding I'd like to be. I'm currently waiting for my ViperGear sensor for my throttle, but I'm trying to figure out how to work profiles with either Foxy or TARGET or DCS. Essentially, since I've never done this before, I don't know what controls I want mapped to the throttle/stick, so I want to start with a profile and modify it from there. Problem is, getting profiles to work seems a little byzantine. Where is a good place to start (for instance, a Mirage 2000C profile since I like to fly that a lot)?
  23. That's ok - I got the stick and throttle together. So I have the Cougar stick/throttle.
  24. I bought the Cougar Throttle MLU from ViperGear - I believe it's a hall sensor, correct? What's the advantage to getting the USB for the throttle (or is it just what they list on the realsim page?)?
  25. I just purchased a used Cougar and needed to buy a new pot for the throttle. Should I also get a USB converter while I'm at it or not?
