  1. I have to say, the Mustang cockpit seems very much to be designed by someone with a lot of common sense. It's one of the most ergonomic I've seen.
  2. I'm very interested in any replies! I'm about to upgrade my video card specifically to run a 3 monitor setup with DCS (and I do love my Mustang!)
  3. Another consideration is the gun mount itself. A crew served gun mount on top of a tank is likely to be shredded by GAU fire, even if the tank itself survives. The likelihood of a crewman sticking his head out of the top of a tank that just got hit by AP rounds to shoot a 30 caliber MG at the tail of a Hog on its egress is very low. At the very least, the gun is probably going to be pretty hot! People have been saying to fire the GAU from a longer range, but this reduces killing power by a lot. If you get close enough to be lethal, the whole tank platoon is spraying you.
  4. I think I read somewhere that the newer A-10C versions have a color camera in that TGP, along with the JHMCS and some other stuff. The Hog we're flying is a bit behind the times, so in my mind this tweak just adds an option for a different kind of realism. Cool to have the option.
  5. Rad stuff Boberro! Do you know if this will cause any multiplayer issues?
  6. If the A-1 gets made, my entire Top 10 list will be on the pipeline, except the F-20 and OV-10.
  7. Man, I keep having dreams that the Corsair comes out, and I fly it. Then, I wake up. Bummer.
  8. I have a mission where two triggers should cause two separate sound files to play, one for each event. Unfortunately, when I point the "SOUND TO GROUP" at one file, the second "SOUND TO GROUP" points at that file as well. No matter what I do, when I change one trigger's sound file, the other one matches it as if they were linked. What may be causing this, and how can I fix it?
  9. Uh, that Humvee driver in the taxi mission needs to be tossed into the brig! The guy did an abrupt 180 and crashed right into my Saber. Must be a Texas native. It's BEEN time! :) This thing is fun as hell just to fly...it handles like nothing else and responds to tiny inputs almost like it's reading your mind. I love it!
  10. It would be pretty cool to get a Korean War map/scenario with F-86, P-51 and Corsairs all going at it against some MiG-15's and a horde of NK armor...
  11. I can't wait to get into a gun fight with this little rocket sled! I just hope we don't get stuck only with GAR-8/AIM-9B...those things can't track a compliant airliner with 8 afterburning jets and a giant "LOCK ON HERE" sign. I also dig this loadout: Questionable source, but I dig the idea of four missiles. If we have to fire from rear aspect, let's hope they have some speed on them.
  12. Count me in! American accent, if you need one.
  13. I guess we can add better ground unit damage modeling to the list of requests, right up there with AI aircraft damage modeling (no ill effects until catastrophic damage and adamantium aircraft), AI flying with perfect E management, and missile performance. Until then, tactics will have to overcome the challenges. I'm still having a damn good time!
  14. Awesome! We CH guys can map it to the Thumb Stick of Odin. Add some binds for radar controls and we're golden!
  15. Hi, I've had some fun times using my OSB bezels and exporting the A-10C's MFCD video to my small monitor. I also found that the MiG-21's radar screen defaults as one of these MFCD viewports, so it exports the same as the A-10C's screens do. Does anyone know if the same is possible for the Mirage's radar screen? Since my virtual head bumps into the HUD control panel when I lean in to it, it's hard to read sometimes. It would be awesome to have that viewport exported to a secondary monitor for immersion and practicality purposes. Any luck so far, folks?
  16. I still want the OV-10 Bronco. That plane can do almost anything.
  17. Just filled a MiG-15 with over 150 half inch holes. It flew like it was fresh from the factory. Eventually I got a cockpit hit and killed the AI pilot but had to circle it to the deck to make sure it wasn't playing possum.
  18. I'm having issues with the tracks...I get stuck in a camera over the airfield and can't switch POV. Anyone else?

  20. If it makes anyone feel better, I did feel guilty shooting it. :)
  21. No problem, glad someone enjoys my dumb videos. :) It does get pretty confusing when talking about calibers and such. As has been pointed out, a ton of machine guns, rifles and pistols all use "30 caliber" bullets of varying diameters, lengths, shapes, and mass. This can be a nightmare to figure out when you're trying to create your own load for, say, a Lee Enfield, which I think shares the same or similar casing to the Browning machine guns the Spit and Hurricane used. The bullets for a 30.06, 7.62x54r (as in the Mosin-Nagant and SVD Dragunov,) 7.62x51 NATO (sometimes compatible with .308 Winchester,) 7.62x39 (as with the AK-47,) 7.62x25 Tokarev (a pistol round that also goes with the PPSH sub machine gun,) and of course .303 British are all in the same caliber but may or may not be interchangeable with each other's brass cases, powder, and primer. They also have varying diameter trends, even with bullets for the same weapon (Mosin-Nagants tend to run big, up to .315 inches, even though manuals call for .308 bullets...Slug your barrel! :) ) It was the "7.7" that threw me off, I've only seen it called that in the Arisaka and never researched it. So, it looks like we may be getting the six gun Spitfire wing with .303/7.7/7.62/.30/7.62 Brownings. Better hit probability, I assume?
  22. Yeah, true. I reload brass for my Mosin-Nagant using bullets for the 308 and 303 British. The 303 tends to run slightly bigger, which is great since I slugged my bore at. 314. It fits my rifle better than the 308's tend to. Didn't know 7.7 was the same thing, though. It's this maybe the gun we're getting on our Spitfire?
  23. I tried this thing out against my P-51. Awesome stuff! I did notice that my 50 caliber hits showed up as 12.7 mm in the debriefing, but the Spit's guns show up as 7.7 mm. Is this a stand-in for the 303 British? Edit: Here's the footage.
