Ich erinnere mich noch an die Ankündigung, dass noch 2014 DCS 1.5 rauskommen sollte. Bis zuletzt hielten sie daran fest, bis sie einfach eingestehen mussten, dass es jenes Jahr wohl doch nichts mehr wird. Aber DCS 1.5 verspätete sich nicht um 2 oder 3 Wochen, was leicht passieren kann, sondern um ca. 9 Monate. Entweder es wurde noch ein schwerwiegender Bug gefunden, der extrem hartnäckig war oder dessen Folgen weite Kreise im Code zogen oder aber sie versuchten die Community bei der Stange zu halten. Ich will den Teufel ja net an die Wand malen, schließlich will auch ich glauben, dass es dieses Jahr was wird aber etwas weniger Euphorie wäre angebracht, denn sonst gibts später nur wieder lange Gesichter. Lieber zurücklehnen, nicht drauf lauern und mal einen genaueren Blick auf die Module werfen, die man bereits hat. Wer kann schon sagen, dass er all seine Flieger beherrscht. Ich sicher nicht :)

I didnt use any cloud shadow mods. In the description I recommended the cloud mod itself, made by Mustang. This bases on the new cloud engine, which is not activated yet. You can find it here in Mustangs signature http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=167699&page=10 I wonder if we will have the new clouds in 2.5... The GME software sounds interessting. I will have a look on it later. -

Didnt find anything about it on starways side. The version of mustangs mod, that I used had stuff from other guys as well and a few month ago I asked Barthek personally for permission of using his files as long as I mention him. Couldnt find any conflicts. But if this is a problem for any reaseon, somebody should delete this thread. Anyway I just did it for me and some friends, who liked it, like I do. Just thought, why not share it with anybody. -

Hi all, it might be a bit late to publish another texture mod, because in a few month the T4 caucasus will be released. But I thought these few month are enough to try out some other textures. Like my previous mod, the vast majority of the used files were not made by me. I put textures from Starway, Barthek and Mustang together and made them fit. In some cases Starways mod is better than Bartheks and in some other cases its vice versa and so on. Thats why I thought why not get the best of each and combine them. So if you like it, visit Starway, Barthek and Mustang to give them thanks. They made the larger amount of work. Thats for sure. Archive 2 - 4 will be unpacked automatically into the same destination folder. For using JSGME, create a folder inside of your JSGME mod folder, like: "...\JSGME\JSGME mod folder\PMTC Ver2.2\..." and unpack the archive into it instead into the main folder. ---Note--- I can't assess any cross reaction with other mods, especially graphic mods and adjustments!!! I only recommend to try it with the cloud mod of mustang. Its just awesome. If you have problems with the trees then keep all files in "c:\...\DCS World\Mods\terrains\CaucasusBase\Structures\High\E DM" as original. The easiest way to do so: 1 restore the original files via repair or deactivate the mod via JSGME or whatever you use. 2 unpack the mod somewhere else. Not into the main folder. 3 get into this folder, navigate to "Mods\terrains\CaucasusBase" and delete the folder named "structures" 4 copy over the remaining files into the main folder. Now you should have tree shadows again and the trees look a little strange with their color and brightness fluctuation, as the originals do look. But no more problems with missing trees. Track ir 4 problem after 1.5.4 update.

Use / and * on your numpad to zoom. In general a headtracker is not used to zoom. Its for moving your head rotatory and translational. If you want the zoom on your headtrackers z-axis (leaning forward and backward), go into control settings. Than watch your axis settings. Scroll down to "Zoom" and align it to your z-axis of your headtracker. Should work but not very comfortable. -
The Files you wish to keep are placed in DCS World\Mods\terrains\CaucasusBase\vfstextures\ LandTexturesAutumnOther.zip LandTexturesSpringOther.zip LandTexturesSummerOther.zip LandTexturesWinterOther.zip You have to unpack the originals of these archives and copy over the files named field_p_1.bmp.dds field_p_2.bmp.dds ... field_p_6.bmp.dds and some of the files named grass_n_1.bmp.dds grass_n_2.bmp.dds ... grass_n_8.bmp.dds into the archives from starway. That way you will have the original field textures together with the rest of starways DLC. But I bet these files will not fit together. The fields might be way to bright.

I read it somewhere. I forgot where. No reliable sources maybe. But the trees on Nevada map are collidable as well. Why would it be different on other T4 maps? I think non-collidable trees will be gone forever with releasing of DCS 2.5.

I guess in the vast majority of all cases a too fluid grease was used. The grease layer breaches and both parts of the gimble contacts each other. The only way to avoid that, is using a more solid grease. Try NLGI 4, instead of 2 or 3, which were recommended by some users. -
Does anybody know something about the performance? The Nevada map, even the midtown of Vegas runs a bit smoother on my machine than the Caucasus. I guess its about the T4 convertion. But if not it would be a low blow, if the new features have to be paid with a GTX 1080 or something.

Indeed a huge fps impact to me, from 55-60 to less than 40 and sometimes only 30 fps. But totally worth it to try. Now the clouds aren't so fluffly any more. Instead they have hard edges. Love it!

I have an issue with anisotropic filter again. They are always off. No matter what I set up. With the patch before, it was gone but now its back again.

Eigentlich werden sämtliche Dateien, die den Integritätstest nicht bestehen in einen eigens dafür angelegten Backup-Ordner verschoben. Deine veränderten HUDs ganz sicher auch. Nach dem Update kann man den gesamten Inhalt dieses Ordners einfach in den Hauptordner verschieben und dann ist alles wie vorher. JSGME lohnt eher für große Mods wie Texture Replacements, damit man nicht jedesmal ein 2GB Update runterladen muss. Aber für kleine Mods von wenigen KB lohnt JSGME kaum. In deinem Falle scheint mit das Recyceln des Backups sinnvoller.

Das hoffe ich sehr. Inklusive Wolkenscheibeneffekt. Früher oder später kommt es sicherlich. Alles eine Frage der Zeit.

Your CPU is not that new any more. Almost 6 years. The perfromance focus is on the gpu in most cases but sometimes a computer acts like a chain, which is only as strong as its weakest link. So the CPU should be the first aspect for troubleshooting. Btw I guess DCS needs always a lot CPU performance to render this large amount of ground objects.

That was exactly, what I was thinking :) Maybe ED could introduce another (additional) news system: ONE screenshot per day. Just one screenshot of a random model, theater, concept or whatever they recently working on. No comments, no infos, just one single screenshot. That would be awesome.
