  1. When I hit f10, the map is zoomed in all the way. I can adjust out fine, but when I go back to the cockpit (f1), the next time I hit f10, the map is zoomed in again. Is there a way to set the zoom where I want it, and have it stay that way, until I want to change it?
  2. Whether or not I, or anyone else has a "HOTAS", the important question is why does the "sync cockpit controls with HOTAS controls at mission start" make the Spitfirefly better for me, and a few others.I had triedflying the Spitfire with an X-55 Rhino I have (but w/o the Sync cockpit... ON, didn't even know about it then), and the plane still flew terribly.
  3. I don't know what this is, but putting it ON makes the Spitfire fly in a close to normal manner, for me. Check my specs, there is no HOTAS. What gives?
  4. SiThSpAwN, "But this was, correct? Quote: Originally Posted by VinnieJones Why, then, did ED put it out in such a terrible condition? You have to wonder." So, let's see. Someone says the Spitfire isn't ready for prime time, so to speak. My response asks if that is true, why did ED do what they did? My response was a challenge, not an agreement.
  5. I actually have, and have read, the manual. Didn't remember the part about trim. Thanks
  6. What manual? :) Kind of like buying a car with 180 on the speedometer, but it won't do more than 120.
  7. What I'm referring to is the amount the needle moves. It doesn't go the entire way in either direction. Only about half way.
  8. I just discovered the "User Curves", and am wondering if you have any settings for the Dora and Spitfire? I found one for the Kurfurst, which allows me to have pitch settings beyond the standard nose down max. I still haven't found any instructions/guide on how to set them, though. Kurfurst = 0,5,12,21,32,40,45,59,74,88,100 Thanks
  9. That first picture of the three planes from above is probably the most realistic screenshot I have ever seen. It looks exactly like what you would get with the color film used at that time. And I say that as an ex-Navy photographer.
  10. When you go to Controls/Axis Controls/Pitch(for instance)/Axis Tune/click Slider and User Curve, you see a graph on the bottom left, in which you can adjust the settings. I just learned about these, and used one someone put in the forum, which worked very well on the ME-109. Now, I'm looking for other people's settings, in order to see which ones work best.

  13. Philstyle, Thanks for these suggestions. Last night, I tried to follow at least some of them, and did a couple of pretty good landings. As I let the plane roll on done the runway, patting my self on the back, however, I still rubbed a wing on the ground. Practice, practice... I would like to also take this opportunity to remind everyone that: "These are all band-aids and patches to help with the flight model that isn't yet as it should be. This isn't (yet) the "flies without a vice", "obeys every command" Spit that your Grandpa flew in '44." is not my quote. I was simply responding to it.
  14. Could someone that uses slider settings for the Kurfurst, publish them? Even better if you use the FFB2 joystick. Thanks

  17. In the first picture, I think a Dora tried to mount a Mustang. :)
  18. I guess you didn't notice the quote wasn't mine. I was just responding to it. Read the whole thread.
  19. "It must be broke cuz I can't do it" isn't really an analytical assessment." Neither is "it must be fine because I can do it." But, I will keep on trying, in the hope things will improve.
  20. The Kurfürst has narrow gear, and it handles very well. I have all the WWII tail draggers, and none of their FMs are in as bad a shape as the Spitfire. So it flies the way one person likes. Consider yourself lucky. You are the exception, and the exception usually proves the rule. Why else all the complaints about the Spitfire?

  22. Still the best looking fighter.
  23. Should the trim indicator needle close to the throttle move the entire distance on the scale? Right now, it only goes about half way.
