  1. I think an option would suit all concerned....except those who might consider a clean canopy a cheat. Probably very few.
  2. That's me!
  3. Here's what I can see, when I fly directly away from the sun. I never saw anything like this in real flying. I hope that this gets fixed. I'm sure the devs know about it, and will get to it eventfully.
  4. Fine adjustments and accuracy come from getting a quick response from the airplane when you make a trim change. The way things are now, you have to wait and see if the change you made is what you wanted. I don't know if you have any RL flying time, but what we have in the Spit is not realistic. ED has said it is a bug and needs to be corrected.
  5. I'm using two notches of nose down trim, and the plane is still leaping off the runway. I can't give it enough down trim to fly without it wanting to climb. I also don't understand why elevator trim changes are so sloooow. It is nothing like the CloD Spitfire, which gives you instant pitch changes. Is the Mk IX that much different from the earlier Mk's?
  6. Some more screenshots
  7. That's what he meant. I had never heard of "user settings". Thought it was something I had missed. Thanks for the decode.
  8. Where do you find the user settings? In DCS World someplace? Thanks
  9. Try raising the flaps just before or as you touch down.
  10. One thing I noticed is that, if you are flying directly away from the sun, the planes shadow can be seen in the prop disc. A nice feature that I can do without, if it affects the frame rate. I am also getting much lower frame rates.
  11. The elevator trim movement seems way too slow. It really needs to be in real time, so you get the adjustment you want, when you need it. On the plus side, I'm happy to see it works with my Sidewinder 2 FFB joystick.
  12. All of the above is well and good. But, will the F-86 ever be fixed?
  13. Probably my favorite WWII fighter The FW-190D
  14. Right on! And I did mean "fantastic".
  15. Try starting the flaps up just before or on landing. The decrease in lift will plant the plane firmly on the runway. Also, try the "wing low" approach, in which the nose is kept straight with rudder and aeliron is used to keep the plane from drifting off the runway center line. The low wing is into the wind. Keep "flying" the plane until you stop. You could also make the crab or wing low approach with less flap. Nothing says you must use full flaps for every landing situation. In high winds, and on the ground and taxing, remember where the wind is coming from and use the controls to keep a wing from catching the wind and flipping you over.
  16. Assuming this plane has not already been mentioned, I think the F-8 Crusader (Last of the Gunfighters) would be a great plane for someone to model. Four 20mm cannons, missiles, that movable wing, fantastic manueverability, a real Mig-21 killer. How could you go wrong? __________________

  19. The rule in real flying is "step on the ball". Simple.
  20. The Sabre: See, I told you I was helpless without the forums. :)
  21. Weegie, I did a repair, but that didn't seem to help. What I did find is that I am way too naive about some things. I assumed that I could use any (for example) 109k livery I wanted to, anywhere I was flying the 109k. Not true. It depends on what mission I pick. I downloaded the BMW F1 skin, like you did. I could could see it listed for some missions, but not others. I tried the same for the 190d and the P51. Same result. BTW, in Bazar/Liveries, it seems there are no skins listed for the F-86. I looked under "F" for F-86 and "S" under Sabre. Nothing. But there are skins listed in the missions. Maybe the skins are applied by mission location or time period? If any of this is true, I think we should be able to pick any skin we want, and use it all of the time, if we want. No matter what mission. I'll wait to see your vid, before I complain to higher-ups. :)
  22. Will do the repair right away. Looking foward to your vid. Thanks for taking the time and effort to help me out. Without theses forums, I would be helpless.
  23. Weegie, I made sure I had the 109K and Germany in the mission editor, but I still see only 10 of the listed 27 skins. I think they are the ones that came already installed in the game. I also looked at the vids, and couldn't see anything I wasn't doing.
  24. I'm really confused about these skin files, and how to get them to be shown in the mission editor. Example: In Bazar/Liveries/for the 109K I see 27 folders. They all have .dds files in them. Why don't I see them all as choices in the mission editor? I download skins, extract them to my desktop, and copy them to the right a/c in Bazar/Liveries, but I never see them in the mission editor. What is happening, here?
  25. IIRC, only "Pips" Priller and his wingman, in FW-190's were over the beaches during the invasion. And just for a few minutes. My hope is that the Normandy map will include cross channel missions, plus later missions during the breakout from the beaches. That could also morf into using airstrips on the continent, as the war progresses. Anybody care to make a Bodenplatte mission? I can also dream about AI B-25's and B-26's bombing, Tempest ground attacks, etc, etc.
