  1. Fantastic!
  2. Get the Cougar MFDs, assign buttons to actions, then make a template showing which is which. Much easier, slightly more money, but you will be happier.
  3. Worked like a charm. Thanks,
  4. Andre, I just added an SSD to my computer, and am getting "Class not registered" when I try to open the Gametrix Control Panel. What do I need to do? Thanks.
  5. Could you define a “clean install” for me? Where should I save the openalpha folder? On the SSD? Thanks
  6. I’m having my SSD installed, today, with Win10 on it. Which I’m told is a good way to go. In downloading DCS 2.5, is there a place where I can specify I want it on the SSD? Also, will the download automatically go to 1.5.8 and 2.2 on my C drive for information? Thanks
  7. That’s Shi-Tzu. And the T is silent. :)
  8. I understand, perfectly. Just wanted to see how things were going. Thanks
  9. Do the reviews of the open beta reports, so far, indicate a 2.5 Release version about next week, as predicted?
  10. I’m also looking forward to Condor V2.
  11. Were they toned down from what is shown in the video?
  12. I’ve taken 4.5Gs in mock combat, and I can tell you the average person won’t be able to stand being thrown around by this thing. For the typical flight simmer that usually flies combat for 30-45 minutes, you won’t last more than 3-4. What fun is that? I’ll also bet the Limitation of Liability clause you will have to sign is as long as your arm. This will probably end up in arcades, with an attendant present to turn it off as soon as you start screaming at him.
  13. I don’t know what is the best l/d is for the Spitfire. But, you could experiment a bit by noting the rate of decent at various speeds, and use the highest speed with the lowest decent rate.
  14. First, I hate the word “basically”. It means nothing. Second, there are a lot of pages in this thread because many (me, for instance) aren’t as conversant with computers as some others. Combine that with the Third, in which there are many different ways computers are set up, and we end up with a lot of questions. If you already know what you have to do to get your computer ready for 2.5, stop reading the thread and posting. The next time you add to the thread, YOU owe all of us donuts. :)
  15. Thanks. Now, to head over to Amazon. 500gb sound big enough?
  16. Somewhere, this has probably already been answered. But...i have 1.5 and 2.2 on my C drive. If I get an SSD, can I have 2.5 saved to it, and be good to go? And, at what point would I do that?
  17. That’s what it was. Thanks
  18. I just d/l the latest update. I got a message that the application could not start, and I should contact the vendor. I sent the error message to the vendor. This has never happened before with an update.
  19. What a great app. It is exactly what I was looking for. Well done.
  20. I decided to try exporting the control profile for my P-51 in 1.5.7, to my 2.2 P-51. First question: is this even possible? Second question: can I import the whole profile at once, or do I import the profile for each controller separately? I ask this because in the DCS manual, it says: "Note: The loading and saving functions are specific to the device and not global for the profile". Is a "device" here defined as each controller? Joystick, rudder, MFD, etc. If I read this correctly, I can't load the whole profile at once, which makes the process very time consuming. Thanks for any enlightenment.
  21. Exactly. If DCS ever adds realistic wind, most of you wil need to learn about which way to move the controls during taxi turns to keep the plane from flipping over.
  22. Skatezilla, I just d/l the update, but neither 1.5 nor 2.1 have green buttons in the updater. I saved the exe. to programs/eagledynamics/dcsworld. What did I do wrong? Thanks,
  23. The plate is a separate piece of hardware, and only one option for mounting. Lots of people are taking it off and mounting the joystick other ways. Therefore, I think the bottom of the joystick should have its own cover.
  24. I just bought a Warthog HOTAS setup, and was stunned to find no cover on the bottom of the joystick, after taking off that large metal mounting plate, leaving a circuit board and wiring naked. I do plan to mount the joystick on a smaller, lighter plate. But, have to wonder who decided having no cover on there was a good idea. Even an inexpensive rubber pop off cover would have protected things.
  25. We were in flight school together. We were like brothers.
