TWC_SLAG replied to Home Fries's topic in Thrustmaster
Maybe this has already benn discussed, but I would like to see the MFD cards in a format I could print out in the correct size without going through TARGET. Possible? Thanks- 2261 replies

Now that I have ordered a 10g tube of 767a, could you describe the process for applying it? Where, how much, etc. I have assumed, since this had been tested on different joysticks, that this lube would be good for the X-55 Rhino. Is there a video showing the lube being applied? Thanks,
-
No, this has to do with trying to view something from the outside after hitting F2. Moving the mouse will not change the viewpoint, nor will moving the mouse wheel result in zooming in or out. I experience this only in Alpha, and only the F-5E.

New Wheel Stand Pro for Thrustmaster Warthog attachment

I would love to know more about this keyboard. Could you share it? Thanks, -
It it not possible to assign controls to the mouse in the Normandy map.
-
Of all my modules, the only one that will not let me move the view around with the mouse while in F2, is the F-5E, and only in the Nevada map. I just bought it last week. Is it possible I just need to re-download? Or, is this just the way it is. Or, something else? I tried Repair, with no change. Thanks,
-
Great. Which ones would those be?
-
I knew they wouldn’t be exactly one to one. My hope was that some of the thought into which button/switch/dial an action was assigned could also translate over to tho Rhino. Mine was gathering dust, also, until I bought the F-5E. Thanks,
-
I have an X-55 Rhino, and have just bought the F-5E. I have two questions: 1. Does anyone have a Rhino profile for the F-5E? I searched, and can't find one. 2. Are the Rhino and Warthog similar enough to use a Warthog profile? Thanks,

My feelings were not hurt. It was my experiences that were being questioned.

bbrz, In that experience I had as a student, the nose pitched up suddenly and violently. There is no room for debate about that happening or why. Of course, the plane began sinking AFTER that. It had suddenly lost lift. So, how about we all cut the “mines bigger than yours” crap, and end this?
-
And, the same sudden increase in the pitch attitude and AOA will occur as I have described when the flaps are raised too quickly. I had done this as a student pilot, 50 years ago. Now, back to the Spitfire. I hope.
-
In that case, we need to agree on definitions. Until then, we are all talking past one another.
-
In the case of the 172's with electric flaps, you are right. The flaps go up too slowly to cause ballooning. However, in the earlier models with a manual flap handle, ballooning would occur if you raised them too quickly. With the Spitfire, flaps are all or nothing and snap up and down pretty fast. I have flown every model from the fast-back (don't know which model, maybe 1960) through the 172RG. Used to work at Cessna, delivered new planes (almost all models) on weekends for about 5 years. I agree. Several things about the Spitfire may be exaggerated. Or, maybe not. LOL
-
The ballooning is not just with the Spitfire. You would get the same response from a Cessna 172, which I have tons of hours in. Do you have the SYNC HOTAS box checked in Options/Misc?
-
Thanks for the shout out, but David OC deserves the credit for those settings.

I upped the screen res and the gamma notch, but used the rest of your settings, and I really like them. I especially like what happens with the canopy reflections. Looks like real glass. Thanks,

OVERLORD - The ultimate Normandy SP Missions
TWC_SLAG replied to Reflected's topic in User Created Missions General
I tried one of the FW-190D missions. I figured out the comms, and was able to pick a mission, but never saw any enemy a/c, nor could I get ATC to respond to things like heading info. Also, how do I pick from your skins I have downloaded? I think you have created some really great missions for us. Looking to see them in MP. Cheers -
It shouldn't be too hard to make something like this for the Warthog.

See the thread about syncing HOTAS controls and the suggestions on axis control settings. For a long time, I thought the Spitfire was totally screwed up. Accidentally I found out about the sync thing, and others suggested better settings. I still think the pitch control can stand improvement. It changes too slowly and the elevators are way too sensitive. But, I can fly the thing now.
-
Or, I could sell you one that has hardly been used.
-
Can you share your axis curves ?...

I tried your settings, and found them a great help in taming the Spitfire. Thanks -
I've seen Gunther Rall in several different videos, and he always impressed me as one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. RIP

Elgato Stream Deck as configurable button box
TWC_SLAG replied to Ranma13's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
This costs $150 on Amazon, for one, and needs additional software. The TM Cougar MFD includes two displays with ~24 buttons each, is plug and play, for half the price. I've been using mine for a couple of years and have made profiles for 8 or 10 different airplanes. You can get premade profiles, or blanks and make your own. Both types here on the DCS forums.
