reported Incorrect trajectory of the BR21 rockets?
MJDixon replied to xvii-Dietrich's topic in Bugs and Problems
Very thorough report, I hope this gets sorted out! -
I just like to assign them to my Saitek throttle quadrant as it most closely matches what's in the cockpit. You can move the lever with the mouse, but it doesn't actually operate anything (as the manifold pressure doesn't change), using an axis does change the manifold pressure but the cockpit levers don't move, I didn't check to see if the manifold pressure changes when using buttons.

2.7 Update and Flaps Analog and Ram-Air and Carb. Heat levers
MJDixon replied to Captain Orso's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
RAM air control does work if you have it set to an axis, it's just that the in-cockpit lever doesn't move when you do that. On the other hand, moving the in-cockpit lever has no effect on the actual RAM air, as mentioned. -
As of 2.7 the parking brake no longer locks the toe brakes in the forward position as it has previously, instead the toe brakes return to the 'off' position when you release pressure, as if the parking brake were not applied. Despite this the functionality of the parking brake works as usual, so it seems like an animation issue.
-
Further testing it seems that mapping the RAM air to an axis does work, as the manifold pressure will change depending on where you move it (but the lever in the cockpit doesn't move), but moving the levers in the cockpit with the mouse had no effect on the RAM air, as if the in cockpit controls are disconnected from the sim. Seems there's an animation issue with the flaps where they only show either no flaps or full flaps rather than each increment, so maybe that could be doing the same thing here as far as the animation goes?
-
Righto, guess there's two bugs with the RAM air then.
-
For me both the Ram Air and Hot Air controls don't work when set as an axis, but do work when set as buttons, or when moving in cockpit with the mouse. See further down for more up to date description of bug.

I know that the 3D model is being redone so perhaps the skins will need to be redone as well, however I think there are two things that should be looked at on the Mossie. Firstly there's the roundels on the top of the wing, where the red centre circle is noticeably larger than it should be (which I think is a known issue and one that it shares with the default skin of the Spitfire). Here's a screenshot of the upper wing from the latest 'New WWII Propeller Technology' video: Compared to the WW2 Type B roundel of this Mosquito: The confusion seems to stem from the use of a post-war low vis roundel also used by the British Army: In addition to this, the Mosquito in the latest video also includes a roundel on the underside of the wing: However it seems that most (all?) WW2-era RAF Mosquito FBVI (and XVIII) had no underside roundels, for example: Thanks.

Agreed, this is an important feature for Mosquito missions and would be a great addition!
-
${1} You can see some examples of missing wings in this video, mainly at around 2:45 as the 109 extends away, and again more clearly at 5:13 as I extend away from the 109.

Sounds good to me. Or looks good, as the case may be!

The option to have the RAF Pilot from the Spitfire would be good as well, for the Mustang IV. :)

With the current Open Beta version (2.5.6.49314) the German Schnellboot type S130 is not visible or interactable (it doesn't fire AA guns, nor can it be damaged by shooting at where it should be), however it can be seen as an Icon in the F10 map. Pressing F9 for external view (or F12 for the static object version) results in either a black screen or a blue screen, with just the information bar showing at the bottom. The 3D model of the S-Boat does show in the mission editor, however. Below are some screenshots of the issue. S-Boat in editor next to U-Boat: U-Boat in mission, with no S-Boat visible: S-Boat showing on F10 map, with a heading of 47483648 degrees: S-Boat external view (F9) showing blank screen: Reverting to Open Beta 2.5.6.47404 restores the Schnellboot type S130 back to its working state. Thanks.

Japanese marking available for all nations
MJDixon replied to xvii-Dietrich's topic in Bugs and Problems
I agree that the skins should be linked to the nation that they represent, for the sake of historical settings. Hopefully it should be a quick fix as it would just require that countries = {"JPN",} is placed at the bottom of the Japanese skin description files. -
I've uploaded my alternate RAF skin in dark earth camo to the ED User Files section: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3308470/

Congratulations everyone.:)

Thanks, I'll give that a try too. :)
-
Thanks! Although I still need to work on my consistency, especially in the break as my altitude fluctuates a lot, I was just lucky to be on altitude at the checkpoints. And I'll try breaking sooner. :)

Thanks a lot for this training mission, it's helped me to get to grips with doing carrier landings in the proper procedure, even if it has made me become obsessed with improving my own score. :joystick:

Great news. Looking forward to seeing what they're working on.
