  1. DCS dedicated server on Linux planned https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3632500&postcount=14964 Big love! This would make it so much easier to host DCS Servers!
  2. Is this feature planned to be re-enabled for multiplayer or is it going to stay single player only? This would be valuable information for mission making, as this would-be a very helpful feature in multiplayer ... a simple answer would be much appreciated.
  3. I saw a significant improvement in micro stutter with wednesdays update!
  4. Not only frames better, even in high demand/low framerate situations the situation is dramatically smoother than it was before wednesdays patch! It is so much easier to fly now even with 25 frames! Whatever you did, well done!! I had a hard time lifting my jaw flying last night! With all the critics all the time, this is a good time to say thank you ED!! :)
  5. No idea which issue you mean o.O but the server is going to come back :)
  6. Amen! Please Nineline, I've invited BIGNEWY as well, come to the dynamic DCS server, play a few hours with us. Experience why we think MP needs improvement, and why the work Drex puts into this is unpayable for ED and DCS. Don't just join for 15 minutes, spend a solid evening, and you will understand why MP is so different to SP.
  7. And that said, drex is literally just scratching the surface of what can be possible. Really all we are longing for is some commitment by ED, instead of having their community managers say not enough people complain about it, yet ban them if they loose contenance and then get replies like these. Sorry Nineline, I am still puzzled by the words you chose. They are so descriptive about how we feel about how ED stands towards Multiplayer.
  8. You really said this, did you? The amount of ignorance ED puts towards MP is puzzling. We live in 2018, and ED has buildt up a pretty solid reputation about banning people who complain about things in the forums. Please open your ears towards those people who spend tons of hours developing multiplayer for DCS. Drex might not be the first who's done incredible stuff, but the effort and skill/knowledge he puts into this is one of a kind. Crowdsourcing is real nowadays. Ignoring Multiplayer in Gameplay is just having your eyes closed, and the past few years that I've flown DCS I can only say: ED has grossly ignored Multiplayer as if it was a lesser sidekick of singleplayer. Have a look at what made money in Gaming the past decade. Hint, it's not singleplayer. People love to fly together, not alone. I've said it before, my opinion has been flagged extreme but I stand to it. If you would improve Multiplayer you would see the numbers turn rapidly from SP to MP. It is just so much more engaging than flying alone. DCS excells in simulation and graphics. But as with every simulator the gameplay implementation is not worth mentioning and IMHO the biggest flaw DCS has, yet it gets the least attention.
  9. I agree with Slider BIGNEWY! I‘ve seen you once connected to the server, but never playing it. Come spend a few hours with us! I‘d be very surprised if you would not have a good time there.
  10. happening to me as well on ddcs server. it was not only me crashing, another one flying a UH-1 crashed at the same time. DDCS Server. Flying straight and level in a Huey. dcs.log.rar
  11. Hello Zeus! I would think it would be great, if you return from a sortie and rearm your Harrier, that you do not receive a brand new TPod which needs to be warmed up again for 8 minutes to get FLIR view. In my head it would make perfect sense to have FLIR available after rearm. It would be very much appreciated if this was somehow possible :) thanks! Beef
  12. I also do not quite understand why this seems to be ignored. Bignewy, an easy way to reproduce would be joining the DDCS Server (I've seen you've been there briefly), hop into the discord channel. Ask ppl if there's anything they'd need to be slinged and where and then just go haul crates in either Mi8 or Ka50. It may take you an hour, or it may happen within 5 minutes. Sometimes it happens everytime I touch a crate, sometimes I can set up a big SAM system with no problems. You will also feel the frustration it generates, when you have a whole team rely on you setting up an asset that may turn forces on the frontline. On a less emotional more coding related side, I suspect it may have a relation with crates not being destroyed on client computers. Since this is what the ddcs server does a lot and little other servers do, it would sound plausible. But then again, I've slinged a bunch of crates with the huey and did not have a single crash. Not knowing the code architecture of cargo-hooking I can only guess how that's related, but from an outside perspective it's something I would look at. Here's drex's report thread, which is also being ignored for reasons I would really like to understand better: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=209552 If we would understand this better, maybe we could improve the way we report things.
  13. Here's a video of the ka-50 crashing. I land, select the cargo. press hook and poof. gone. crashlog is here: crashlog It was not quite the same situation, as the sling did not even appear, but the crashlog is more detailed.
  14. title says it all. all the rest should be in this link: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1EJibniYxK8Xh25YowLiWLmE6Jw3ttrYt
  15. It the heavy crates on Drex's dynamic dcs server. That's pretty much all I can say I am afraid, but maybe drex will chime in.
  16. Has this bug been acknoledged? Is there anything we can do to help pinpoint the problem? Many times the crates work just fine, but then DCS crashes 5 times in a row. This is a serious problem in Multiplayer. Would be willing to spend some time helping pinpoint it.
  17. Just tried uninstalling the physx driver and had a crash including logdump in a ka50. Here's the log: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XbY9PTtqJVTj4RBsPqW5_I2Fyq5uzjvR/view?usp=sharing
  18. It is not exclusive to the Mi8, it also happens in the Ka50. Usually the log does not yield any results/no crash notice, it would just stop. What I had as last messages when the hook would not hook but fly around was frequently this: 2018-05-30 09:23:15.257 INFO WORLDGENERAL: ADD NEW BULLET SOFT BODY 2018-05-30 09:23:15.257 INFO WORLDGENERAL: ADD NEW BULLET RIGID BODY 2018-05-30 09:23:48.290 WARNING LOG: 2 duplicate message(s) skipped. 2018-05-30 09:23:48.290 INFO WORLDGENERAL: REMOVE BULLET RIGID BODY 2018-05-30 09:23:48.290 WARNING LOG: 2 duplicate message(s) skipped. 2018-05-30 09:23:48.290 INFO WORLDGENERAL: REMOVE BULLET SOFT BODY 2018-05-30 09:23:48.946 INFO WORLDGENERAL: ADD NEW BULLET SOFT BODY 2018-05-30 09:23:48.946 INFO WORLDGENERAL: ADD NEW BULLET RIGID BODY 2018-05-30 09:23:55.479 WARNING LOG: 2 duplicate message(s) skipped. 2018-05-30 09:23:55.479 ERROR Dispatcher: lua_pcall failed,?:0: attempt to index field '?' Also I have set the physx settings of my nvidia driver to use CPU instead of GPU, which subjectively seems to have lessened the problem, it still happens way too often.
  19. a crashlog from dynamic caucasus. Seems there's something to find in there. Crashed while engaged by sam in a mirage from close range. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fgDvz4zUi2PRM4-QYb7un5fmlUoNO7at/view?usp=sharing
  20. Hey Maverick! I totally agree on your last paragraph, I have little to no doubt about it. Still, I do not want to be shy to point out, that with the quality of MP in general - and I don't think it is necessary to explain what I mean with this, you have experienced this yourself the past 8 years - it is absolutely no surprise at all that SP is much bigger than MP. The frustration levels reached on many levels are just to high for MP to take off in any way that makes economic sense. I am inclined to say this is an incredibly waisted opportunity. Yes that is my personal opinion. I think it is safe to say: Yes, flying MP in DCS it is the single most cool experience in multiplayer I have ever had in my life, while at the same time it is the heaviest continued frustration I have ever experienced in Multiplayer in the past 20+ years (how long is multiplayer around? I started MP with a cable hung between two houses because the internet only existed in magazines). And the fact that you Maverick personally told to me in a Teamspeak conversation on the blueflag-ts two years ago - which I still very much appreciate to have had - that "this has not changed in the past 6 (!) years that I've been around here - how long have you been around here? one? - and you should not expect this to change any time soon because [...]" still leaves me puzzled to say the least. It lowered my expectations and thus frustration levels and I am still thankful for that. But then again, looking at this, who is genuinely surprised that SP kicks MP in terms of numbers? But I cannot resist to be a tiny bit of a wiseass. According to wags there are ~150 employees working on DCS by now. If only 10 of them would be dedicated to developing MP, we would see much more progress in MP-experience, and I think it is quite safe to assume that 9/10 people giving MP a single try will never return to MP again (which alone would result in a 9:1 SP:MP ratio). And I cannot blame them. How many times have you started your aircraft, done your preflight planning while the INS was warming up (if enabled), took off and flew 15-45mins (I love helos) towards your Target and then landed in the lobby or desktop or just experienced a hard freeze or lag-freeze which leads to ground impact? (helos once again). I have stopped counting and it's been more than 50% of the times for me, significantly more in a subjective perception which counts more than hard numbers. I stand the strong opinion that a proper MP experience is miles ahead of a SP experience especially in an environment as awesome as DCS, especially when frustration level is kept low, which sorry - speak up if you disagree - is the part where DCS fails the most and most spectacularly and for an unbelievably long time. Whats your opinion about this Maverick?
  21. That's a pretty good idea, and seeing how things go this really might enable us to join servers quicker. If you get kicked from a server in a stuck loading screen it usually works fine the next try ... So +1!
  22. After todays update I've been trying to join the 104th for a solid hour now. Always stuck on loading screen. Tried repair and restart. Still stuck at the loading screen. Started typing this and suddenly I can finally join. Here's my logs from the last try that eventually worked, along wiht dxdiag.txt and system.nfo Logs.zip
  23. the dcslog on the server should give you hints about where it fails to load things, it's the first file to look at whenever something is not right, or in other words to check if everything is right or not.
  24. My dcs after joining Drexs server uses magic 18.000MB after loading. If I add all memory shown in the taskmanager it comes to about 20 Gigabytes of pure RAM used by active tasks, plus an estimated 4GB for the system plus another 4GB standby-memory allocated by I don't know what. So my 32GB system runs at 86% memory usage when flying MP in DCS. This is really just a factual report about my systems memory usage, but I'd be surprised if this was as designed.
